Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Do You Want to Dance?

Chapter 14: Do You Want to Dance?

Early in the morning, while most of the students and teachers at Notting Academy were still asleep, three figures, one tall and two short, had already emerged from the academy's gates.

"Teacher, where are we going to find soul beasts?"

It was Tang San, Qianqian, and the Master who emerged from the academy. However, the three of them didn't get along, so Tang San resorted to asking questions to avoid awkwardness.

"We're going to the Soul Hunting Forest, four hundred miles northeast of Notting City. That's where the Empire keeps soul beasts. We're sure we'll find something suitable for you." The Master, dressed in a formal suit, looked even more heroic, but his stiff expression still gave off a sense of awkwardness.

Qianqian listened helplessly as the Master spouted off a long stream of basic common sense, sometimes looking at her with a half-cocky, half-dazzling look.

If Tang San hadn't been there, Qianqian would have wanted to kick him. "You're showing off to me, a seasoned fan of Dou Yi, Dou Er, Dou San, and Dou Si? Who gave you the courage? You're probably thinking of dancing!"

After buying some basic supplies, the three of them rented a carriage and headed for the Soul Beast Forest.

It was Tang San's first time riding in a carriage. Despite the bumpy ride, the novelty piqued his interest. He would occasionally pull aside the curtains to peer outside. Seeing the bustling crowds and the diverse shops, he couldn't help but yearn for the outside world.

This life was destined to be much more complex than his previous one. He wondered what life would hold for him when he entered society.

According to the original storyline, Master offered Tang San the Twenty-Four Bridges, which he initially declined before accepting.

The atmosphere in the carriage was truly strange, so Tang San had to continue the conversation. "Teacher, what is the best spirit ring configuration for a spirit master?"

Since Tang San had asked, Yu Xiaogang answered, "Spirit rings come in five colors: ten-year spirit rings are white, hundred-year spirit rings are yellow, thousand-year spirit rings are purple, ten-thousand-year spirit rings are black, and finally, a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring is red!"

Yu Xiaogang finished, glancing at Qianqian. Qianqian cried out inwardly, "Mm-m-p-p! Are you upset that I didn't ask you for anything? You really want to dance!"

Tang San just nodded when Qianqian said, "Soul rings don't have just five colors. It's only the uninformed who think there are five. I don't know exactly how many colors there are. But..."

"Soul beasts with over 200,000 years of cultivation are called fierce beasts. The soul rings they provide are also red, but they gain a golden pattern for every 100,000 years of cultivation.

The natural plane of Douluo Continent provides the Son of Nature with a green-gold soul ring, while the Thundering Hell Vine over 100,000 years old provides a purple-gold soul ring. There are also many other unique soul rings unknown to the public. The fact that there are only five colors is just a common understanding."

"Impossible! What evidence do you have?" Yu Xiaogang might be a jerk, but he was indeed very serious about his studies.

Qianqian didn't look at the Master, but chuckled disdainfully.

For some reason, although Tang San knew the Master was knowledgeable, he was more convinced of Qianqian's theory.

"Um, that, teacher, how many years can my first spirit ring last? Even a hundred-year spirit ring has a difference between 100 years and 999 years." Tang San casually brought up the topic.

This time, Yu Xiaogang was about to start dancing again. He was confident that no one could study the specific spirit ring lifespan more specifically than him!

"According to my research, the first spirit ring's lifespan is exactly 423 years, so try to get as close to this number as possible. The second spirit ring is 700 years (I've forgotten how many years 700 years is)."

Qian Qian's face was furious. After saying this, he looked at Lao Zi and said, "You are really testing yourself to the point of committing suicide!" "Stop! Your research is fine for ordinary people, but it may not be applicable to geniuses like my third brother!"

"You..." Yu Xiaogang glared at Qian Qian. What he could not tolerate the most was others looking down on his research results!

"What do you mean by 'me'? Third brother, let me tell you." Qianqian counted on her fingers one by one and said, "First, what the old man said makes some sense. The maximum age of the spirit rings that ordinary people can absorb is indeed like this. Second, this theory does not apply to extraordinary people!"

"Absorbing spirit rings mainly involves energy shock and soul vibration, and soul vibration is only experienced by ten thousand year old spirit beasts. For third brother, it is enough to withstand the energy shock.

The key to whether you can withstand the energy shock lies in your physique! If your physique is better than that of an ordinary person, then absorbing spirit rings will exceed the limit. If your physique is weak, then a hundred year old spirit ring can also explode and kill you!"

"This..." Qianqian's theory seemed to open a new door for Yu Xiaogang! Constitution! That's right! Constitution! Yu Xiaogang wanted to pull out his notebook right now to study the formulas, but Qianqian clearly captivated him more!

He'd considered himself unrivaled in theory, and now someone with even more profound knowledge than he had appeared, he couldn't help but want to ask for advice! He'd even forgotten Qianqian was just a child!

If this theory was correct, then spirit rings, as he'd said, could have more than five colors?

Qianqian glanced triumphantly at Yu Xiaogang, feeling elated at his confused yet eager gaze.

He was questioning his life, wasn't he? Did he still want to dance?

However, seeing Yu Xiaogang's increasingly intense gaze, like a big bad wolf meeting a little white rabbit, Qianqian's heart tightened and she quickly shrank back to Tang San's side. Tang San subtly shielded Qianqian behind him. After all, Yu Xiaogang's gaze was so strange, it made him wonder.

"Ahem." Yu Xiaogang coughed awkwardly. "Um... Xiao Qian, how do you know all this?"

Qian Qian smirked. "Please, beg me and I'll tell you."

"I beg you, tell me." Yu Xiaogang didn't even think twice before saying it. Tang San and Qian Qian were stunned...

"Teacher?" Yu Xiaogang felt no shame at all. "Xiao San, let me teach you a little. The capable are the teachers!" Qian Qian's mouth twitched. Mm-

"To deceive, I claim my spirit is a mutated Blue Silver Grass. In reality, its true name is Heavenly Might Blue Silver Emperor! It's a spirit blessed by the Heavens. Those with it are knowledgeable in astronomy and geography, and capable of both literature and martial arts!"

Though Qianqian's petite figure and soft, adorable voice made these words seem a bit comical, Yu Xiaogang simply believed them!

He didn't really care where the knowledge came from; as long as he had it, it was enough! Besides, a six-year-old child probably had no other way to acquire so much knowledge that wasn't even in books, besides spirits!

Yu Xiaogang had even forgotten how much he and Qianqian had been at odds. Ever since everything that had happened, academic knowledge was undoubtedly his most important priority. He lacked natural talent, so he could only equip himself with knowledge!

At that moment, Yu Xiaogang almost impulsively considered becoming Qianqian's disciple. However, with Tang San by his side, and his uncertainty about Qianqian's true talent, he restrained the urge.

Qianqian showed a devilish smile. She wondered what would happen to the world if she accepted the master as her apprentice...
