Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Three Consecutive Knees (Part 2)

At this moment, Kushina Uzumaki, having lost her composure, launched reckless attacks full of openings that Minato Namikaze quickly noticed. However, Kushina still held the advantage of attacking first while Minato focused entirely on defense without any room for counterattacks.

Soon after, the momentum Kushina had forcefully maintained began to wane, and her attacks slowed down. Minato immediately reacted—he flung a kunai toward Kushina, buying himself time to form hand seals. Then he vanished using the Shifting Body Technique and reappeared behind her.

After being continuously provoked, Kushina felt she was on the verge of another defeat. Unwilling to lose again, she wanted to turn things around—after all, everyone wins sometimes. *Everyone gets their moment in the sun sooner or later.*

Out of sheer determination, a powerful energy burst from within her, transforming into chains of chakra that lashed out toward Minato Namikaze. Had Minato not reacted swiftly, he would've been bound.

At this point, Kushina suppressed all the frustration deep inside and appeared ecstatic instead—this was their clan's bloodline ability, something only a few could awaken. Her confidence in victory grew stronger than ever.

She then pursued Minato relentlessly with the Adamantine Sealing Chains, keeping him at bay like holding off invaders outside the city walls. At the same time, she formed hand seals, aiming to launch the [Water Release: Water Bullet] toward Minato.

Although Minato couldn't figure out how to deal with Kushina right away, seeing her forming seals told him what she intended to do. From his ninja pouch, he threw many shuriken toward Kushina—not necessarily to injure but to interrupt her jutsu—while rapidly moving his body to gather information on the Adamantine Sealing Chains.

After some intense combat, Minato gradually understood this technique and recognized the jutsu Kushina was trying to use. A plan started taking shape in his mind as he kept looking for the perfect opening.

Meanwhile, Kushina slowly grew frustrated again; every time she attempted a jutsu, Minato interrupted it. As for performing jutsu while moving—a skill she hadn't yet mastered. She planned to block Minato's shuriken with the Adamantine Chains and take the chance to perform her jutsu.

Minato, well-prepared, predicted Kushina's intention based on her movements. His mind flashed with "Opportunity." Though it might be a trap, he quickly decided—it was worth a try.

Minato first released all the shuriken in his hands to attack Kushina's left side. Then, using the high speed granted by the Shifting Body Technique, he closed in just as Kushina deployed the Adamantine Chains to block the shuriken.

At the very moment Kushina unleashed the [Water Release: Water Bullet] toward Minato, he executed an incredibly fluid evasive maneuver—like a serpent shifting sideways—and dodged the attack completely. Just when Kushina thought victory was hers, she suddenly experienced extreme joy turning into sudden sorrow.

Then Minato Namikaze caught up with Kushina Uzumaki just as the Adamantine Sealing Chains were about to bind him, pushing past her unprepared defense.

Minato quickly followed up with a precise knife-hand strike, lightly tapping Kushina's neck, securing victory in their sparring match.

However, Minato was immediately wrapped by the chains of the Adamantine Sealing Chains. He had also wanted to test the strength of this ninjutsu. The seal's power shocked him—it completely drained his ability to channel chakra, and even basic physical movement became impossible.

Then Minato thought to himself that he probably won, even if it had been slightly risky. If this happened, Kushina would surely recognize him, right? Thinking this, a smile unconsciously appeared on his face.

When Kushina saw Minato's hand strike her neck, she knew once again she had lost. The suppressed bitterness from earlier surged back even stronger than before, though she stubbornly held it back for pride's sake.

But seeing Minato's nearby smiling face broke down her emotional defenses all at once. This time, she couldn't stop herself—tears betrayed her and rolled helplessly from her eyes.

Kushina then ran straight to Grandma Mito Uzumaki's house, desperate for her grandmother's comfort. Before running off, however, she flung the annoying Minato far away.

Because of the seal's lingering effects, Minato couldn't chase after Kushina the moment he regained his strength. By then, she was long gone, leaving him standing there bewildered and unsure why a routine training session had affected her so deeply.

After standing there puzzling over the incident for quite some time without understanding what happened, suddenly another figure entered Minato's mind: Shiyu Uchiha. He wanted to consult his friend Shiyu about what just occurred. Only someone like Kushina could rattle him enough to shake his usual composure.

Meanwhile, Kushina had already run into Mito Uzumaki's arms and burst into loud tears. Though outwardly calm, Mito seethed silently, determined to find out who had wronged her granddaughter so deeply.

Once Kushina had released her emotions, Mito skillfully guided her granddaughter into revealing part of what had happened. Combining this with observations from recent days, she finally identified the problem.

But at this point, Mito's initial ten layers of fury had dwindled to less than one-tenth. After all, nobody had intentionally targeted Kushina. Still, she decided to teach Minato a lesson while secretly marveling at his natural talent and strength. She knew Kushina's abilities well—she was definitely one of the strongest of her generation.

Yet Minato had shown even greater potential. Mito even contemplated possible future investments upon considering this possibility.

Thus, Mito activated her sensory ability—the Mind's Eye of the Kagura—and instantly covered the entire Hidden Leaf Village, surpassing even the Third Hokage's Telescope Technique using a crystal ball.

After all, that technique was developed by imitating the Uzumaki clan's Mind's Eye of Kagura. It was far inferior to the original version. Besides, it was Mito Uzumaki herself who was performing it—someone born with that natural talent. When combined with Nine-Tails' good-and-evil perception, this ability had reached an entirely new level.

She happened to overhear Minato Namikaze venting his frustrations to Shiyu Uchiha. At that moment, Mito Uzumaki heard the full story firsthand from Minato, the other person involved.

She found the situation mirrored what Kushina Uzumaki had described, yet the emotions behind it were entirely different. She also picked up on Minato's hidden intentions. As a result, Mito finally grasped the truth behind the matter—it was just a little punk with a crush trying to impress his dream girl.

Mito knew it wasn't really Minato's fault, so her lingering anger quickly faded. Right now, Mito was considering how to handle this issue. However, what happened next exceeded her expectations.

Though Mito Uzumaki had long passed sixty and considered herself world-wise, after listening to Shiyu Uchiha and Minato Namikaze's conversation on romance, she couldn't help feeling like she'd just learned something new—about youth, perhaps.
