After hearing her words, Lu Fin and Lu Rensheng both exchanged looks and looked at Lu Feng'er weirdly. They wanted to ask more questions and probe on how much of a 'decent conversation' they had, but the current situation made them refrain from their curiosity.
"What do you think is currently going on now?" Lu Fin asked in a low voice as the platform kept descending with no stop at sight.
"Naturally we wait. The academy won't hurt us, perhaps we are currently heading towards the actual destination of the second exam." Lu Rensheng said, silently redrawing her martial spirit.
Lu Fin agreed and took back his martial spirit, but Lu Feng'er held on and looked at the black gas eagerly.
Obviously she had different thoughts, and felt like fighting against that black gas, but didn't take action as she knew she couldn't break that glass and if she did, she'd end up drowning. Nevertheless, she still held onto her Golden Shark Trident and looked at the black gas with fighting intent.
Both Lu Fin and Lu Rensheng ignored their fighting hungry sister and began to speculate as to what was happening.
"After we were dropped off at the Main Hall of the outer courtyard, the seniors seemed to all say that they were heading back to the first exam to bring back more students, but none of them entered the Main Hall, why is that?" Lu Rensheng began to analyze with a hint of confusion.
Lu Fin stood there like an ice sculpture, but you could see from time to time his brows wrinkling.
"Could it have something to do with formations? I remember father talking about how some places you could enter but never leave unless you had the strength to break free, find the exit that has been set up, and if the owner lets you willingly leave." Lu Fin responded to Rensheng's question.
"Hmm, but why would such a formation be set up in the Main Hall of the outer courtyard?" Saying that, she glanced at the black gas attacking the glass wall separating them.
"Could it be…"
Before she could finish her sentence, the platform that was descending suddenly stopped, causing many students to stumble over their feet.
"Cold."
That was the first thing that came to Lu Fin's mind and his body tightened. Not only was it cold, it was dark and smelt like burnt wood. But why would burnt wood be the smell in an underground dome surrounded by water?
"Come on, it's time!" Lu Feng'er said excitedly, and was about to dash down the only path that was in front of the hundreds of students, but was grabbed by the back of her collar by Lu Fin.
"What are you doing?" Lu Feng'er yelled and her body squirmed around, and flung her trident at Lu Fin.
Seeing the trident coming his way, he let go and dodged.
"Sister wait!" Lu Rensheng shouted anxiously on the side.
Lu Feng'er paused, allowing Lu Fin to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Can you just wait a few moments before charging straight in? We don't even know what's down there and none of the seniors came nor did they explain anything. Don't you find this abnormal?" Lu Fin hurried to explain.
Lu Feng'er nodded. Of course she knew! That's why she is so excited to rush down to the end. Although she knew that this test was something about spiritual power due to the intel given by Lu Rensheng and Lu Fin, this didn't stop her being eager to go out and see what's down that path.
"That's why I want to dash down there immediately! I wanted to be the first person to pass this exam, but now it seems that I won't even make it to the top ten." Lu Feng'er grumbled as she looked down the path to see hundreds of other students speed walking their way down in groups.
"Sister, first doesn't matter, only by passing the exam and becoming students at the academy matters. As far as I know, there are no rewards given to those passing the exams first, only pride."
Lu Feng'er snorted and grumbled as she stumped her way down the path.
Lu Fin and Lu Rensheng both shook their heads and hurried to follow behind her.
'Such a troublesome younger sister.' Both of them thought.
Little did they know that all of their acts had been seen by the teachers overseeing the exam.
"Grand Tutor Xiaofeng, your daughter has quite a personality." Qin Dong'er couldn't help but laugh.
"I think she has the right attitude. Only by pressing on forwards with great courage can one climb the highest mountain." Wang Kun said, approving of Lu Feng'er way.
"Although her mindset is strong, without thinking about her actions could get her killed, luckily both Lu Fin and Lu Rensheng stopped her. Though Lu Rensheng seems to be the most intelligent out of the three." Qin Dong'er replied.
Wang Kun didn't deny her claims and Lu Xiaofeng nodded his head, though he had different thoughts.
"Lu Feng'er is actually the smartest out of the three, it is just that Lu Rensheng prefers having some form of control over the situation, while Lu Feng'er is hot headed."
The two nodded their heads. Obviously as their father, Lu Xiaofeng would have a better understanding of the three.
"Though Grand Tutor Xiaofeng, you have some incredible charm to even win over the royal family." Qin Dong'er said with a hearty giggle.
Lu Xiaofeng's lips twitched and couldn't help but say, "Don't start gossiping about my life. Focus on the students, especially those who have reached the start of the Wave of Resentment."
Qin Dong'er nodded and regained her composure and her figure vanished and reappeared a couple of dozens of meters down the dark hallway.
Down a dozen of meters in the hallway was a strands of black gas, the same black gas the students saw in the water before descending to this place. Now the black gas is now inside rushing down the hallway, but the more the black gas moves out of water, the thinner it gets.
