Chapter 160 - TST [160]

Morgan's [Parlor Dragonmaid] emerged from her Graveyard, but its form had changed—it now radiated eerie energy, transformed into a Zombie. That was exactly Myura's aim, enabling [Vampire Sucker]'s second effect.

"I continue with [Vampire Sucker]'s effect!"

"When a Zombie monster is Special Summoned from either Graveyard: I draw 1 card."

Myura replenished her hand. Though it wasn't the monster she wanted, but a Trap, it still gave her options for her strategy.

An'er's expression grew tense. Myura's deck was showing its true nature—stealing control by forcing the opponent's monsters back onto the field as Zombies. And this was just a Link-2 effect. If stronger monsters were involved, could she even summon the opponent's creatures directly to her side?

An'er's guess was right. Myura's deck did include such cards. But Morgan wasn't worried. She only needed to time Dragonmaid Sheou's effect properly—but not yet.

Because Myura still had [Vampire Familiar] waiting in the Graveyard. If Morgan used Sheou too early on [Vampire Sucker], Myura could still chain through Familiar's effect. The interruption had to land at the most critical moment.

Meanwhile, the principal glanced nervously at his phone, but there were no signals, no messages…

Time itself seemed frozen. They were truly cut off.

He sighed, looking at the old man. This barrier would only vanish once the Shadow Duelist was defeated. No one inside could escape, and no one outside could enter. Even with Alliance reinforcements, they'd be helpless outside this dome.

The only way forward was for Morgan and Myura to finish their Duel.

Hannah reached the same conclusion. If Myura won, she would flee immediately with Morgan in tow—the mission would be a success. If Myura lost, the Duelist Alliance would take over the Academy. In that case, her only choices were to vanish… or pray her forged identity held up.

Her eyes hardened. She preferred the first option.

She turned her gaze back to the Duel. The first turn wasn't over, and the outcome was still uncertain.

Just as Morgan predicted, Myura began activating effects from the Graveyard.

"I activate the effect of [Vampire Familiar] in the Graveyard!"

"If this card is in the GY: send 1 other [Vampire] card from my hand or face-up field to the GY; Special Summon this card!"

Her hand was filled with Traps she needed later, so she used the one card on her field with no value.

"I send the Continuous Spell [Vampire's Domain] to the Graveyard, and Special Summon [Vampire Familiar]!"

The Spell dissolved, replaced by a bat with no eyes, a crimson maw stretching wide and wings sharp as blades.

[Vampire Familiar] Level 1│DARK│Zombie│500 ATK / 0 DEF

This was the key piece of her combo. When Special Summoned, Familiar could search a Vampire monster from her Deck—at the cost of Life Points. But those LPs would be stolen back from Morgan soon enough.

"I activate [Vampire Familiar]'s effect!"

"I pay 500 LP and add [Shadow Vampire] from my Deck to my hand!"

This was why she had prepared Domain beforehand. Shadow Vampire was the linchpin of her chain.

Isla's heart skipped. She could feel Myura's growing excitement. What terrifying monster awaited at the end of this chain?

Morgan only smiled fearlessly. In her eyes, Hazel wasn't an enemy—she was a fat bundle of Duel Points waiting to be harvested.

With [Shadow Vampire] now in hand, Myura declared:

"I Tribute my [Vampire Familiar]!"

"Tribute Summon! [Shadow Vampire]!"

The bat vanished, replaced by a brooding knightly figure shrouded in a crimson moon's glow. His face was obscured, only his silhouette visible. He wore heavy armor, wielding a sacred-looking longsword and shield. At a glance, one might mistake him for a holy paladin.

[Shadow Vampire] Level 5│DARK│Zombie│2000 ATK / 0 DEF

Seeing her card finally hit the field, Myura sneered.

"I activate [Shadow Vampire]'s effect! When this card is Normal Summoned: Special Summon 1 DARK 'Vampire' monster from my hand or Deck, except itself!"

"I Special Summon [Vampire Scarlet Scourge] from my Deck!"

A tall, crimson-eyed noble stepped forth from the darkness, clad in a tuxedo lined with strange armor, gripping a spear etched with sinister runes.

[Vampire Scarlet Scourge] Level 8│DARK│Zombie│2200 ATK / 2200 DEF

Scarlet Scourge was Myura's key to her upcoming Xyz Summon. Her ace monster could Xyz Summon using monsters originally controlled by the opponent, ignoring Levels. Scarlet Scourge's own effect could seize control of Morgan's [Parlor Dragonmaid] after destroying it in battle.

"Activate [Vampire Scarlet Scourge]'s effect!"

"Pay 1000 LP: Special Summon 1 'Vampire' monster from my Graveyard!"

However, now… it was Morgan's turn to strike.

As Myura's Life Points dropped, Morgan's calm voice rang out:

"I activate [Dragonmaid Sheou]'s effect!"

"When your opponent activates a Spell, Trap, or monster effect: negate that activation, and destroy it!"
