Chapter 6 - TST [6]

In the next moment, Morgan suddenly felt an overwhelming clarity in her heart.

It felt like she was submerged in the purest, clearest lake water, and the tangled mess of thoughts in her mind untangled completely.

Like unraveling a tightly knotted ball of yarn.

The sheer relief of it nearly made her moan aloud.

So this... this was Calm Mind!

Morgan's heart swelled with joy. Even though with her current body, she could only use a Duel Skateboard, once she grew older and could ride a D-Wheel, Calm Mind would become a major asset for her.

Satisfied, she nodded to herself.

Then, a wave of sleepiness hit.

After the Duels lasted the entire afternoon, her mental energy was fully drained.

Barely managing to take off her Duel Disk, Morgan collapsed straight onto her bed and fell into a deep sleep.

...

The next day, the Virtual Duelist Forums had exploded.

Almost everyone was talking about the sudden appearance of a new burn Deck powerhouse.

Someone had investigated the account after a Duel and discovered it had only been registered that day—and shockingly, it had never lost a single match. From Bronze to Silver, it maintained a perfect win rate.

Among all the matches, the most famous and widely discussed was the one against streamer Ian.

Crushing a former Platinum Duelist with absolute dominance wasn't something just anyone could do—especially when Ian had been using his most familiar Deck.

It didn't take long before others started uploading their own match records, and soon the entire forum was flooded with threads.

Everyone was debating one thing: Who exactly was this Burn Deck powerhouse?

⟨Insane... every Duel ends in under five minutes, even counting Chain resolution!⟩

⟨Sitting there eating hotpot, drawing cards... and suddenly your Life Points are gone!⟩

⟨Does anyone know which smurf this is? Next time I queue into them, I'm just hitting the top-right corner for a quick surrender!⟩

⟨Quick surrender? Are you kidding? Getting to Duel someone like this is a rare learning experience. Plenty of people wish they could face them!⟩

⟨Could it be a pro from Haisen Club? I heard their ace recently developed a new Deck... supposedly a burn build!⟩

Haisen Club was one of Solmere City's top Duelist clubs, having finished runner-up at the Duelist League for two consecutive years. All their pro-Duelists were ranked Platinum or above—a true den of experts.

And rumor had it, Haisen's ace Duelist was the closest contender to the title of Duel King.

Thanks to that comment, the forum exploded again with fresh speculation.

⟨Yeah! It's gotta be someone from Haisen Club! I saw them run burn Decks in past matches!⟩

⟨Confirmed! Pro-level smurfing!⟩

⟨The League's starting soon, they're probably testing new builds!⟩

⟨Are you dumb? Why would they leak their tournament strategies here? That'd just expose their tactics!⟩

As the debate raged, a reply suddenly appeared from a user with a flame icon avatar.

HaisenVolcanicPhantom: ⟨It's really not me! In fact, we're looking for this person too... If this Duelist is reading this, please contact us. Haisen Club will absolutely make you an offer you'll be satisfied with!⟩

After this post dropped, the forum fell into stunned silence, as though collectively processing the bombshell. Moments later, the discussion exploded even harder, comments flying in at lightning speed. The thread rocketed past a thousand replies in no time.

⟨No way! The Volcanic Phantom himself is coming out to recruit? This is a first!⟩

⟨If it's not someone from Haisen... then who IS this burn Deck Duelist?⟩

⟨Whoever they are, they're about to take off! Getting into the Haisen Club means a guaranteed bright future!⟩

⟨Ouch! This hurts! I'm so jealous I could scream... I forgot the rest of what I wanted to say!⟩

⟨Bro above! How do you forget even while copy-pasting?!⟩

...

Meanwhile, Solmere City, at Haisen Club HQ.

Milo, one of the club's top players, held a cup of coffee, looking exhausted as he watched his own forum comment buried under an avalanche of replies.

He couldn't help but smile bitterly.

He was the owner of the HaisenVolcanicPhantom account. The Volcanic Deck he used was, technically speaking, a burn Deck as well.

Ever since that Duelist named SunshineStriker had crushed Ian the day before, Milo had been frantically digging for any info about them, wanting to recruit them into the Haisen Club.

That way, they could finally cover their burn-strategy gap and enter this year's Duelist League with a perfect lineup.

Two consecutive second-place finishes... it was a collective wound for the entire club.

After rigorous training and intense mindset preparation, this year was shaping up to be their best shot yet.

But after searching all night and burning through every connection he had, Milo still couldn't find a single scrap of information about this SunshineStriker.

Even more bizarre... There were no records of their Trickstar Deck anywhere.

Both the Duelist and their Deck seemed to have just... appeared out of nowhere.

Milo felt utterly at a loss.

Yet at the same time, a spark of excitement glimmered in his eyes.

Because if this really was a newly awakened Duelist... then he'd struck gold.

Determined to beat other clubs to the punch, Milo hesitated only a moment before picking up his phone.

"Old Hank... help me track someone down!"
