Chapter 13 - Routine Inquiry by the Konoha Military Police

Shinnō…?

The name hit Uchiha Jun like a lightning bolt.

That wasn't just any random name—wasn't he a character who only appeared later in the movie timeline?

According to canon, Shinnō had once been a compassionate and powerful medical-nin, revered for his dedication to healing and his travels across nations to share medical knowledge.

Damn…

So he was the one who treated Jun?

No wonder his shoulder, shredded from repeated injury, had been healed in a single session of the Healing Palm Technique.

If it was Shinnō, that kind of miracle wasn't surprising.

Sure, the guy eventually fell into darkness, but his research into cellular regeneration and body enhancement was leagues above the average.

Jun's mind turned quickly. He looked at the curvy medical-nin and asked, "Can I go thank this Shinnō in person?"

"Save your breath. That man already left the village this morning."

She sauntered out with that familiar sway in her hips, tossing a glance over her shoulder as she added,

"Be a good boy and stay put in the ward. Either your jōnin-sensei comes to collect you… or the Uchiha Police Force."

Her voice dipped slightly at the end, a hint of distaste leaking through.

"…The Police Force?"

Jun blinked. Hadn't that been settled already?

Or so he thought—until the door slammed open.

"Disgrace of the Uchiha!"

Uchiha Tekka stormed in, flames practically leaping from his eyes.

Beside him was Uchiha Iou, looking a bit more composed but still intense.

Tekka snarled, "You've shamed the clan!"

Iou, however, leaned in with a suspicious glint in his eyes. "So… what did you see in there? Was it just like Make-Out Paradise described?"

Huh?!

Both Jun and Tekka whipped their heads around, dumbfounded.

Iou's face flushed, but he didn't deny it. "Just curious!"

Jun nearly choked.

Puberty really did turn even the proud Uchiha into simps.

Tekka scowled. "Iou-nii, now's not the time for that."

His house had burned to ash last night—he'd been itching for someone to take it out on.

The Military Police had assigned them a routine follow-up: officially question Jun about the bathhouse incident.

A dream opportunity.

Sure, "routine" meant it wasn't considered serious. Just something to calm public outrage.

But Tekka had already drafted three ways to harass Jun during questioning.

He just hadn't expected Iou to be more interested in Tsunade's assets than law enforcement.

That kind of thing… Didn't the Sharingan offer better stimulation?

As Tekka turned to begin his verbal barrage—

Iou casually interrupted, "Eh, it's not a big deal. Standard questioning. Let's wrap it up and go."

"…What?"

Tekka froze.

Iou-nii, you've changed.

Iou leaned closer and whispered, "You'll understand in a few years, kid."

He turned to Jun. "Now spill something interesting. If not, we can drag you to HQ for a more thorough chat."

"Damn right," Tekka perked up. "You're coming with us to the station!"

Jun massaged his temples.

These two idiots again…

He waved Iou over. "Come here, I'll whisper it."

Iou narrowed his eyes. "Just say it. We're all shinobi."

Jun smirked. "Can't. There's a little kid in the room. Don't wanna ruin his innocence."

"Who're you calling a kid?" Tekka snapped. "You're just one year older than me! Girls? Hmph. What's so great about them anyway?"

BAM!

The hospital room door slammed shut.

All three turned slowly.

Pretty sure that had been the nurse from earlier checking in.

Jun took a deep breath, sighed, and said, "Fine, let's follow protocol. Last night I…"

He recited exactly what Inuzuka Tsume had told him to say.

Iou nodded along. "Alright, alright. We're just here to confirm. Say something else now."

Clearly, Iou didn't give a damn about whether Jun was innocent or guilty. He just wanted a peek behind the steam.

Jun rolled his eyes. "Go read Make-Out Paradise already. Hard to believe the clan hasn't booted guys like you out of the force."

Judging from their banter, Jun now knew the situation wasn't that serious.

In fact, thinking deeper, he realized it clearly wasn't.

Iou had no intention of dragging him back to HQ.

The incident could be blown up or played down depending on how they wanted it. And if they chose to escalate it, the entire clan would be embarrassed, not just Jun.

Having the Uchiha name came with privileges after all.

Tekka clenched his fists. Crack. Crack.

"You used to just flap your mouth. But you kicked me the other day too. If you weren't in a hospital bed, I'd beat the crap out of you!"

Jun grinned. Huh. At least he has some honor.

Then Iou chimed in, "Don't think we won't beat your ass later. You better not step foot back in the compound."

Jun scoffed. "Do it here if you're brave. Let's see if I kick your faces in again."

He'd endured plenty of bullying from them before.

But now that he had actual skills?

He wasn't about to let them run their mouths unchecked.

"You little—!" Tekka raged. "Fine. Make fun of Iou-nii and his little fantasies, but why drag me into it?!"

Iou blinked and turned to him.

"Dude. I took you in last night after your house burned down. And this is how you repay me?"

"Pffft—HAHAHA!"

Jun burst out laughing. These two were too easy.

And there was no way they'd dare lay a hand on him inside Konoha Hospital, so he taunted them without mercy.

In the end, they were just dumb kids too.

Fists unused, they went for words instead. The shouting grew louder—

Until a voice like thunder shattered the tension.

"Shut your damn mouths, brats!"

Inuzuka Tsume stood at the doorway, arms folded, glaring daggers.

Behind her were Mitarashi Anko and Mizuki.

"…Tch." Tekka looked down and offered a polite bow.

Even if the Inuzuka clan wasn't quite as powerful as the Uchiha, they were still a respected name in Konoha.

And Tsume? She might very well be heir to her clan. Not someone to mess with.

Seeing they weren't getting any juicy bathhouse gossip, Iou muttered, "We'll deal with you when you're back in the compound."

With that, he and Tekka left, humiliated and grumbling.

Mizuki stepped in, eyes full of guilt. "Jun… I'm sorry. I didn't think the injury would be that serious."

Anko frowned. "Huh? I was the one who bandaged him. It wasn't that bad yesterday. What the hell happened?"

"Call me Captain."

Tsume stepped forward. "No mission today. You're injured. Rest up. We'll head out again in two days, start of next month."

Seemed like they'd just returned from the scheduled training ground—27th field.

Jun nodded. "Captain… what mission are we assigned to?"
