Cherreads

Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - "The Cradle of Fire"

Shojiro Momo:

"They say your life flashes before your eyes when you die.

For me? It was the fire of becoming.

The sound of my own bones breaking… to make room for something else."

Scene 1 — The Cradle Stirs

Shojiro opened his eyes to heat.

But this wasn't the dojo.

This was a realm without gravity. A chamber of molten stars and collapsing realities.

Ten figures surrounded him — The Primordials, gods of the old structure. At their center: Kaiser, the Primordial of Strength.

Kaiser (booming):

"You died like a warrior. Twice.

The Cradle saw you. And I choose you.

But to inherit my blood, you must survive it."

He extended a stone chalice, glowing with what looked like living magma.

Scene 2 — The Drink of Unmaking

Shojiro took it.

His hands trembled.

He drank.

Everything exploded.

Scene 3 — The Mutation Begins

The liquid hit his stomach like a black hole.

Shojiro screamed.

"AUGH—ghhhAAAAAAA—!"

His spine arched backward, bones snapping one by one. His muscles tore themselves apart, rebuilding in new patterns.

His height increased rapidly — bones stretching, cracking, splitting.

He went from 5'10 to 6'5 in minutes.

Weight? It quadrupled.

Mass gathered like lead in his body — pure dense gravitational muscle fiber, heavier than stone, packed tight into compressed form.

Veins bulged, glowing faintly red.

His skin ruptured — blood and plasma hissed from tearing seams — then sealed themselves in real-time.

Internal Monologue — Becoming Something Else

"It hurts—God it hurts—"

"My ribs—breaking—no—rebuilding—"

"Why do my hands feel like weapons—?!"

"This body isn't mine anymore—"

"…But it will be."

Scene 4 — The Final Phase

His screams became roars.

Shojiro dropped to one knee — leaving a crater beneath him just from weight.

His muscles were now fibrous steel.

His bones — black-iron forged calcium, denser than human engineering could ever tolerate.

Every cell burned with purpose.

He stood, panting. Taller. Bulkier. Built to conquer.

Kaiser clapped once.

Kaiser:

> "You've passed.

The body lives. Now… the soul must understand its place."

Scene 5 — CLASS SYSTEM — Where Death Shapes Destiny

A holographic sigil glowed across the Cradle as Artemis, Primordial of Wisdom, stepped forward.

Artemis:

"In this world, your evolution begins not with birth — but with death.

Each of you carries a scar deeper than time. And that scar chooses your Class."

A spiral of blood symbols rotated around Shojiro.

THE VYTHRA CLASS SYSTEM – WHERE DEATH SHAPES DESTINY

> "Your Class is not a gift. It's a gravestone. And it will define everything you become."

Class Name Death Requirement Power Focus

Brute Die fighting a Berserker Demon to a stalemate Physical might, muscle evolution, adaptive strength

Aetherial Die resisting a Namsari's mind control, then commit suicide Psychic domination, mental weaponry

Forger Die merging with advanced tech, body reconstructed from data Tech manipulation, mechanical fusion

Stalker Die while striking a Poltergeist Demon 4 times Stealth mastery, assassination, shadowstep

Catalyst Die within your element (fire, water, etc.) and accept death peacefully Elemental surge, nature embodiment

Shifter Die to a demon with multiple personalities — evolution depends on how many you hold Form-switching, chaos states

Puppeteer Die while hexing 10 demons in a voodoo ritual Curse crafting, necromancy, blood binding

Sprinter Die charging a Wraith Demon at full speed Velocity, spatial control, hyper-movement

Creator Be born into a sealing tribe, die protecting a sacred shrine Construct creation, divine artifacts

Once claimed, your Class is permanent.

Your death writes your story. And once written… it cannot be erased.

Scene 6 — Shojiro's Class Revealed

A glowing rune carved itself into his left pec.

CLASS: BRUTE

Origin: Kaiser

Death Resonance: Died fighting a Berserker Demon to a draw

Power Focus: Absolute strength, body evolution, muscle-based limit breaking

Passive Traits:

Hyperdensity: Bone structure weighs 5x normal, enhancing impact

Muscle Memory Core: Gains power through trauma and repetition

Overdrive Lock: Temporary removal of brain-muscle limiters for absurd burst strength

Signature Ability: "Oblivion Drive" — (Still locked…)

Kaiser (smiling):

> "You are BRUTE-Class.

Made to tear the sky.

And one day… you'll do exactly that."

Shojiro stood tall, cracked his knuckles.

His voice came low — but confident.

Shojiro:

"Then tell me where to start."

Interlude: "The Binding to Yggdrasil"

> "Your body was forged in fire.

But your soul… must be planted in eternity."

Scene — The Ten Surround Him

Shojiro stood—still steaming from his transformation. Muscle-heavy. Breathing like a furnace.

But the fire dimmed.

The Cradle grew quiet.

One by one, the Ten Primordials stepped inward, forming a circle around him. Their divine forms blurred — becoming less physical, more elemental.

Kaiser (calmly):

"The blood made you strong.

But blood alone is mortal.

Now comes your final step—

The tethering of your soul."

From above, a spiral of stars opened like an iris.

Descending through it was a tree that stretched beyond sight — a sacred entity of branches, roots, light, and shadow.

YGGDRASIL.

It pulsed like a beating heart, older than all dimensions.

Dialogue — The Meaning of the Soulbind

Artemis:

> "Yggdrasil is the spine of all existence.

Time grows on its leaves. Memory in its bark.

It is where every Chosen soul must live. Hidden. Sheltered. Eternal."

Hephaestus (hammer glowing):

"As long as Yggdrasil holds you, no death can claim your soul.

Break your bones. Lose your flesh. But if your soul remains untouched—

You will always return."

Shojiro blinked, still processing.

Shojiro:

"And if my soul is touched?"

Savitar (lightning dancing on his tongue):

> "Then you die. Forever. No reincarnation. No second blaze.

You become nothing."

Scene — The Soul-Tethering Ritual

Kaiser placed a fist over Shojiro's chest.

Suddenly — Shojiro froze.

He couldn't breathe. Couldn't move.

He felt something being pulled out of him — not pain, but something colder. A brightness. A whisper. His soul.

It floated above his chest — a glowing red-orange ember, flickering like a living flame.

Then Yggdrasil reached down with a single glowing root, thin and coiled like thread.

It pierced the ember.

Shojiro gasped. The pain came after — a delayed, metaphysical agony like someone was tattooing his existence.

> His memories rewound.

His father's voice.

The weight of his first kill.

The scream before death.

All engraved into the bark of something older than gods.

Scene — Final Seal

The light faded.

The soul retracted, now branded with the Rune of VYTHRA: STR, and embedded within the Yggdrasil Root System.

It would grow there, forever tethered.

A root twisted down from the sky and curled around Shojiro's spine — a vine of cosmic essence. His body glowed.

System Message:

SOUL BINDING COMPLETE

STATUS: VYTHRA-ACTIVE

CLASS: BRUTE

SOUL-TREE LINK: YGGDRASIL NODE #7F-BLOODFIRE

Final Words from the Primordials

Kaiser (gruff but proud):

> "Now you cannot die by accident.

Only by being chosen for death."

Artemis (softly):

"Live well, Shojiro Momo… because fate is watching."

The Cradle rumbled.

The sky cracked.

Time to descend.
