The people arrived quickly.

However, it wasn't the HYDRA forces that Bucky had gone from refusing to hoping for another wave of.

What arrived was an eyeball.

Alright, it was a person.

But, in the middle of the night, this African-American man, with an eye patch over his left eye, a black leather jacket, a black turtleneck, black pants, and black leather shoes, was illuminated by the headlights from behind him.

Besides his outline, it was really hard to make out anything on him except his eyeball.

As he got out of the car, Bucky watched, and it really looked like an eyeball floating over.

"Mr. Stark, and this one...?"

Well, when he spoke, two rows of teeth appeared.

"Ahem!"

Howard, who was at the door to greet him, saw Bucky beside him, his face stern and tight, his mouth slightly turned down, his nostrils flared, more serious than singing the national anthem. His genius mind instantly deduced that this unreliable fellow was holding back laughter.

He rolled his eyes, quickly coughed, and then said,

"Agent Fury, you've arrived. This is Sergeant Barnes."

"Hello, Sergeant Barnes..."

Fury looked at Bucky. It was late at night, and he had only received a call from a S.H.I.E.L.D. elder, only knowing it was an emergency, so he rushed over with his men.

Although his memory was excellent and his reactions extremely fast, for a moment, he couldn't connect this shoulder-length haired, scruffy man with the clean-cut, handsome young man he had seen in photographs.

"Hello, Agent Fury, I'm Bucky Barnes."

Bucky, of course, had guessed at first glance that this 'eyeball' and these 'two rows of teeth' belonged to the famous Nick Fury.

However, Fury at this time was not the classic bald, black, spiced corned egg image Bucky remembered, but rather had a thick head of black hair.

He was also not yet Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.; currently, he was just a senior S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, a Level 7 Agent, equivalent to the future Avengers' transparent Hawkeye or the most outstanding supporting character, Agent Phil Coulson.

"Hiss~, it really is you..."

Nick Fury shook hands with Bucky, his eyes wide with disbelief, and a "ma Fake" almost slipped out.

He wasn't yet the great Director Fury who would remain calm even when facing aliens.

"Agent Fury, let's go inside and talk. Leave the outside to the people you brought."

"Oh, alright, Agent Coulson, I'll leave the outside to you."

Hearing Howard say this, Nick Fury turned back to a well-meaning man in a suit he had brought, who was in his early 30s with a receding hairline.

Fury knew the situation was serious, so he naturally wouldn't come alone. He urgently dispatched two SUVs and eight Agents.

Bucky met Coulson's curious gaze and nodded slightly to the future Mr. Receding Hairline, who would have many scenes, then glanced at the cool-faced Asian woman beside him before turning and following Howard and Fury back into the villa.

"...That's the situation."

With S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents clearing the area outside, there was no need to worry about it for now.

Inside the villa, Howard explained the whole story to Nick Fury. Of course, he only explained it from his perspective, simply stating that Bucky not only didn't kill him but also saved him. He didn't go into how he saved him, such as absorbing the serum or turning into a remote control.

All those lies would be told by Bucky himself.

"Sergeant Barnes."

"Just call me Bucky. Speaking of which, I seem to have heard the name Nick Fury before?"

"That's my adoptive father; he also participated in World War II."

The Nick Fury here is, of course, the movie Universe's setting, but Bucky really didn't rely on spoilers from before his transmigration; he actually found the name Nick Fury in the original body's memory fragments. So the one in front of him is Nicholas J. Fury, and his adoptive father, Nick Fury I, was the homologous version of the 2P in the arcade game Punisher that Bucky played before transmigrating. He participated in World War II, adopted this 'second generation' after the war, and passed away not long after.

The one in front of him here became friends with Punisher during the Vietnam War.

But these are all beside the point; the key is Nick Fury's question.

"Then I'll call you Bucky. Can you tell me about your situation?"

"I am..."

Bucky began to explain his situation, omitting the transmigration and superpowers, only stating the remaining facts.

The fact was that there was an unexpected variable in Bucky Barnes's brainwashing process, which caused him to lose a large amount of memory while also freeing him from HYDRA—well, here he told Nick Fury it was a mysterious organization whose name he didn't know—and he regained consciousness.

Although he hadn't fully regained himself, he also didn't want to continue being a lackey and assassin for the mysterious organization, so he decisively rebelled, saved Howard and his wife, then protected Howard and came here, waiting for the mysterious organization's pursuit, and used "Howard's inventions" to kill them.

A set of statements, logical and well-founded, making one... well, the listener was the future famous King of Agents, a master of deception who could weave three lies into one. He naturally wouldn't just believe it.

But whether he believed it or not, at least for now, it wasn't too important.

No matter how much Fury was known for his cunning in the future, at this point, Nick Fury was just a Level 7 Agent, with less authority than Howard, one of the semi-retired founders.

But he was also the first to arrive here, so even if he wasn't leading but assisting and cooperating, he had to dutifully ascertain the situation.

"So, what can you tell us about that mysterious organization?"

"Not much. I can describe the environment inside the base where I woke up, but only the place where I stayed. After that, I fell into a deep sleep and was directly deployed to New Jersey to execute a mission. The rest are some memory fragments I can't identify, or very old memories from World War II."

This was completely different from what Bucky had told Howard, concealing too much, because the two had agreed that Bucky was to have complete amnesia.

"I did some basic checks on Bucky, and I believe he likely suffered damage to his hippocampus within the temporal lobe of his brain during the brainwashing process, leading to post-traumatic amnesia and the loss of declarative memory; he remembers nothing. However, his procedural memory is still intact, meaning his daily behavior is unaffected. And because of this, his amnesia will cause him to form a completely new consciousness, and even personality, based on new memories..."

Howard, in his capacity as a genius, backed Bucky up with a lot of medical jargon, which left Nick Fury a bit confused.

This at least provided a complete and reasonable explanation. As for whether he still had doubts, that wasn't Howard's concern.

However, the problem was that under this explanation, there was almost no information that could help Nick Fury.
