Thanks to the combined efforts of Son Goten, Bulla, and Gohan, three deep graves were finally dug. Goten gently carried the three corpses and laid them to rest in the graves. He scooped handfuls of earth and softly sprinkled it over the corpses.
Meanwhile, Gohan was carefully sensing the surroundings. What he discovered chilled him to the bone.
It wasn't just Earth; there was no trace of human life anywhere. Across the entire universe, hardly any living beings seemed to remain.
It was clear now: This timeline was completely devoid of humanity.
Which could only mean one thing: Goku Black and Zamasu, the two monsters, had already destroyed all the Dragon Balls as well.
Reviving anyone in this world was no longer possible.
"Um... what's your name?" Bulla asked as she helped Goten cover the graves with soil.
"Son Goten. Second son of Son Goku. Younger brother of Gohan." Goten's tone was flat and emotionless as he spoke.
Bulla looked him up and down and confirmed her earlier suspicions; she'd guessed right. When Goku and Gohan were mentioned, Gohanks could clearly sense Goten's tone grow sharper and heavier.
There was definitely a painful story behind it.
Finally, Gohanks asked, "Tell me, what exactly happened in this timeline?"
Although Goten resented his father and brother for their past actions, he didn't direct that anger toward this alternate Gohan.
After all, these people were his saviors. He turned to them and recounted everything that had happened in this doomed timeline.
When Goten finished, Gohan and Trunks fell silent, deep in thought. Bulla said nothing, only lowering her head Even Gogeta, floating high above in midair, turned his gaze away, his expression somber.
None of them had expected things in this world to be so catastrophic.
The air around them grew heavy and suffocating. Then, in the next instant, the sky distorted violently once again.
The voice of Fused Zamasu echoed from the heavens.
"Hahahaha! As I thought! I am truly immortal! No one can kill me! I am the supreme ruler of this world! I knew it! I am the most intelligent Zamasu. Those two fools who gave up their immortality made the greatest mistake of all!"
Fused Zamasu reappeared in the sky, his tone filled with triumph as he roared into the sky.
Just as he was about to continue his deranged speech, however, a massive energy beam suddenly pierced the clouds and smashed into his body, scattering it apart once more.
A scream echoed across the heavens. Gogeta crossed his arms and snorted coldly.
"So noisy."
For a moment, the sky fell silent again. Everyone knew the truth: Fused Zamasu's immortal body was granted by the Super Dragon Balls.
Even Beerus couldn't destroy it. In the original timeline, Beerus had clearly stated that even his power of destruction couldn't erase a being blessed by the Super Dragon Balls.
That immortality was absolute. The only way to deal with such a body was to seal it. However, there was a problem: no one present knew how to perform such a technique.
No one here could use the Evil Containment Wave.
Fused Zamasu was pathetically weak; however, his inability to die made him a maddening nuisance.
Gohanks glanced at Majin Buu.
They could use the same trick as before and seal Fused Zamasu inside Majin Buu's body. However, Buu already housed two others inside him. If they sealed Zamasu in there as well, there was no guarantee that it would work perfectly.
After all, Fused Zamasu's stubbornness and corruption were on par with those of Z Broly, who was already sealed inside Buu.
Unlike the other Zamasu, whose immortality came with a fragile body, this fusion of Zamasu was far stronger and more dangerous.
As Gohanks contemplated their next move, the sky trembled once again.
Fused Zamasu's body began to mutate, and his roars echoed through the darkened heavens.
Gogeta's attacks pierced Fused Zamasu's body repeatedly, yet the monster revived each time, his form knitting itself back together like rekindled ash.
Finally, Fused Zamasu went completely insane.
His body collapsed and dissolved into swirling rings of thick, black smoke.
The smoke blended with the air and spread through the sky until his essence fused with the atmosphere itself.
No, not just the sky.
The dark miasma expanded outward, seeping beyond the atmosphere and reaching Earth's surface.
The heavens turned crimson, soaked in a terrifying glow. Countless faces of the fused Zamasu appeared across the sky, stretching endlessly into the horizon.
He howled madly: "I! I am the greatest god in this universe! Humans! You will forever live under my shadow! I am the will of the universe itself! I will merge with it completely. This is what it means to be the ultimate god!"
Above them, the sky was filled with ghostly faces packed together like a nightmarish tapestry.
Everyone below grew tense, their expressions grave.
Suddenly, the faces opened their mouths and fired lasers toward the ground. In mere moments, the surface of the Earth was devastated.
When those beams shot toward the group, however, Gogeta and Gohan simply raised their hands. With effortless waves of energy, they neutralized every blast.
Even though Fused Zamasu had transformed into this monstrous form, he still wasn't powerful enough to threaten the two of them.
The real problem was the sheer number of Zamasus, a swarm covering the entire sky.
"Hahahaha! Humans! You can never defeat me! My body has merged with this world! Even Zen'ō, the King of All, is beneath me!"
Fused Zamasu's laughter grew wilder as his arrogance swelled to the point that he dared to compare himself to Zen'ō.
Vegeta and Son Goku stood side by side, grimly surveying the ruined world.
Gohan clenched his fists and tightened his jaw.
Trunks transformed into Super Saiyan 4 and fired a massive energy cannon skyward, forming a colossal energy shield around them.
He spoke in a low, urgent voice: "Let's go. That thing has completely lost its mind."
Clearly, they no longer had the means to do anything against this abomination.
Vegeta gritted his teeth and growled.
"Tch. Damn it! This is infuriating."
Son Goten stared up at the sky, trembling; his entire worldview had been shattered.
Trunks placed a hand on Goten's shoulder and said quietly,
"Come with us, Son Goten. This world...it can't be saved anymore."
That touch snapped Goten back to reality. He took a breath, then said firmly, "You go. This is my world. I'll stay until the end. After all, I've got nothing left to hold on to."
At the center of the universe, inside the Palace of Zen'ō, was the King of All. By sheer coincidence, one of Fused Zamasu's giant faces stretched so far that it bumped right up against Zen'ō's own face.
Zen'ō blinked curiously and asked,
"Who are you?"
But Fused Zamasu didn't answer. Zen'ō tilted his head and used his divine power to trace the source of the strange energy.
In an instant, he found it: Earth.
Whoosh!
The next second, Zen'ō appeared above Earth. Trunks' heart immediately leapt into his throat. He knew exactly what the arrival of this "eraser" meant. He didn't know why Zen'ō had come, but he knew what would follow: the entire world was about to be erased.
Without wasting another second, Trunks struck the stunned Goten on the neck, knocking him out cold.
Then, with a fierce look, he shouted,
"Buu! Absorb everyone except me, now! Everyone, stand in front of Majin Buu! Hurry up! The world's about to end!"
No one dared hesitate when they saw Trunks so frantic.
They didn't fully understand what was happening, but they knew Trunks' words were never wrong.
Vegeta stepped up first in front of Majin Buu, followed by Bulla and the others in quick succession.
One by one, everyone was absorbed into Buu's body.
Trunks immediately carried Majin Buu into the Time Machine.
After a flurry of rapid adjustments and input, the Time Machine roared to life, and just moments before Zen'ō unleashed his erasure, they successfully escaped from that doomed timeline.
