The Final Flash was just about to devour Black Goku.
"Did it work?" Trunks thought to himself.
But what happened next completely caught him off guard. The rejection reaction of the Time Ring actually expelled Black Goku from this timeline.

Sensing the very last trace of Black Goku's Ki, Trunks immediately used Instant Transmission, trying to catch him.
However, he was still one step too late. Black Goku's battered and broken body had already vanished completely into the spatial rift.
The rift then closed as if nothing had ever happened. Trunks could only sigh helplessly, feeling a trace of regret in his heart.
Still, he didn't seem fully satisfied; he wanted to keep fighting.
He wished he could jump into that rift and give Black Goku another brutal beating. Thinking of this, Trunks smiled knowingly. He did have something he needed to do.

Back then, Cell had also come from another timeline! That meant somewhere on Earth, there had to be a time machine.
The corner of Trunks' mouth lifted into a grin. He was going to chase Black Goku down and beat him! As for finding the time machine, well, he could just use the Dragon Balls to make a wish.
"Brother!! You're finally back!" Bulla, carefully supporting Mai, quickly walked up to Trunks.
Trunks turned slightly, giving her a small smile.
"Mm, actually, I could have come back sooner. But Father told me to train more."
Seeing Trunks' smiling face, all of Bulla's lingering worries completely vanished.
"Oh, you've grown up in these past few years, little sister."
"Haha, you too, brother!"
Their sibling conversation was so simple, but from Mai's place in Bulla's arms, she spoke to Trunks:
"Welcome back, Trunks, and thank you for saving me again."
Only then did Trunks notice the unfamiliar young woman he had just pulled up earlier. Scratching his head, he looked at her professional attire, but for the life of him couldn't remember who she was.
She was very pretty, though.
Trunks turned to Bulla and asked, "Is this your friend?"
Bulla's face instantly fell, while Mai's expression grew awkward. Trunks had never really paid much attention to Mai. After all, he knew her past inside and out. So he'd never bothered to really sense her ki. After so many years, faced with the grown-up Mai, he'd completely forgotten she even existed.
"Brother! She's Sister Mai!" Bulla reminded him, not knowing what else to say about this clueless brother.
In her original world, these two were a perfect match. But in this life, her brother seemed to be as dense as a block of wood.
Mai gave a slightly embarrassed smile. "Trunks, it's been a long time… I'm Mai."
As soon as Trunks heard it was Mai, his expression changed dramatically.
He looked her up and down, black stockings, tight skirt, professional outfit.
(This is Mai? This old woman is just getting younger and younger…)
Trunks didn't say much, only gave a short "Mm."
Suddenly, he sensed someone appear behind him. That unique technique was all too familiar; another person using Instant Transmission could only be Son Goku.
"Wuu~ Trunks! Long time no see! Whoa! You've grown a lot taller!" Goku circled around Trunks like a child, looking him over.
Trunks greeted him warmly. "Long time no see, Goku Ojisan."
But at that moment, another Ki descended from above.
"Hmph, Kakarot, after all these years, I wonder how your strength measures up now?"
The speaker was none other than Vegeta.
Goku grinned. "Wanna have a match, Vegeta?"
Just as the two seemed ready to go at it, two more figures appeared in the sky.
"Boss! You're finally back!" Five little Cells shouted in unison.
After all these years, the five little Cells still looked like children. Behind them was a pink, chubby figure dozing off.
But the loud shouts instantly woke him. He joined in, "Boss is back!"

Another powerful Ki landed in the area.
Gohan scanned the surroundings, his eyes sharp and alert.
"Dad, Vegeta Ojisan, Trunks, Bulla… and Mai! I just sensed a very evil Ki… but it suddenly disappeared!"
At this point, Trunks had no choice but to tell everyone what had just happened.
"What?! A dark man who looks exactly like me?!" Goku was shocked.
Hearing this electrifying news, the five little Cells instantly fused into Super Little Cell.
"How dare he lay a hand on our sister-in-law! I won't let him get away with it!"
As he spoke, Little Cell wrapped an arm around Majin Buu. "Right, Buu?"
The silly Majin Buu seemed to have no idea what was going on, but nodded vigorously anyway. Trunks felt like crying without tears, while Mai's face flushed red.
Vegeta, however, was taken aback. He had sensed Trunks suddenly unleash an immense burst of power earlier.
So it was to protect this girl, whom Little Cell called "sister-in-law." Vegeta couldn't help but cast Trunks a look of approval. In this regard, Trunks was truly his son, perfectly inheriting Vegeta's "love your wife" trait.
Super Little Cell's words were actually thanks to Bulla. At this moment, she was sneakily giving him a thumbs-up.
She had already told the little Cells about her plan to match Trunks with Mai.

Goku, feeling targeted, frowned in discomfort. "That guy's not me! How could I have that kind of Ki?"
"To be honest, I want to beat that guy up myself; having the same face as me is irritating."
Gohan muttered, "But wasn't he expelled from this timeline? We wouldn't be able to find him."
At this, Trunks' lips curved slightly. "I have a way."
