The rain poured outside the cracked windows of Grimlow Public School, a dull, aging building tucked behind factories and forgotten alleyways. Students sat in their classrooms, half-asleep, half-scrolling through their enchanted scrolls.
In the last row, by the window, sat a boy no one ever noticed.
Ravi.
He wasn't smart. He wasn't athletic. He didn't come from a known magical family. In fact—he had no magic at all. In a world where even kids could light candles with a flick of their fingers, Ravi couldn't even spark a flame.
He was just Ravi.
The bell rang. Another day of being invisible was over.
As he stepped outside, he noticed the usual—kids flying on hover brooms, casting water spells on each other, laughing, showing off.
Ravi sighed and took the lonely walk home.
But something was different today.
Meanwhile…
Far beyond the school walls, deep in the Shadowpine Forest, a group of four senior boys from Arcana High had gathered. They weren't supposed to be there.
Ishan, the leader, held a stolen map.
> "This cave wasn't on any Arcana records. It's like someone erased it..."
They reached the mouth of a jagged cave, vines covering the entrance. Torches flickered to life with a whisper of fire spells.
Inside, the cave walls were covered in glowing carvings—ancient symbols no one could read.
Then they saw it.
A massive, black stone slab, pulsing with energy.
It whispered.
Not in sound—but in thought.
"Touch me."
Without hesitation, Ishan pressed his hand on the stone.
Suddenly—BOOM!
A shockwave blasted through the cave, dust flying. The slab split in half, revealing a hidden door glowing violet, inscribed with ancient symbols.
> "What… did we just unlock?"
None of them noticed the black mist creeping out of the cracks…
Something had awakened.
Back in town, Ravi lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
But then, his hand began to burn.
He looked down.
A strange symbol—the same symbol from the cave wall—was glowing on his palm.
> "What the—?"
And in that moment, far away, a pair of ancient red eyes opened beneath the cave.
