Hearing the voice, Shenhe knew it was Moon Carver and quickly greeted him.
"Mm." Arriving beside Cloud Retainer and nodding to Shenhe, Moon Carver then said to Cloud Retainer, "I have inspected the inside and outside of the abode from just now until the present, and I found nothing amiss. It seems that girl truly didn't do anything."
Because of what Cloud Retainer had come to tell him earlier, he had come here intending to inspect the place himself, but just like her, he found nothing.
"If I couldn't find anything, what could you possibly do?"
Cloud Retainer had actually been reluctant to let Moon Carver inspect her abode, but she couldn't refuse his enthusiasm, so she let him try. The result was just as she had expected.
"Ahem." Not expecting his old friend to be so blunt, Moon Carver gave an embarrassed cough. Then, to alleviate the awkwardness, he asked Shenhe, "How was it, Shenhe? Did you gain anything from your trip down the mountain this time?"
"Gain anything..." Seeing Moon Carver ask about her trip, Shenhe pondered for a moment before saying, "Because I ran into that girl when I was planning to get something to eat, this trip down the mountain didn't involve much of the mortal world."
"That girl?" Moon Carver didn't immediately register which girl Shenhe was talking about, but he eventually connected it to what Cloud Retainer had told him earlier. "The one who broke into the abode before?"
"Yes, that's her," Shenhe nodded.
"Let me tell you about it..."
