"Fourth Progenitor? I thought this world only had three. So there's a fourth?"
Hearing something interesting, Remilia came out of her funk.
Ren ignored Natsuki's expression and explained to Remilia.
"It's said that there aren't just three Progenitors in the world—but a fourth as well."
"He's known as the strongest vampire, stronger than all the others. He commands twelve beast vassals, has no kin, no bloodline descendants, and is a terrifying lone being. They say he's appeared at pivotal moments in history, always bringing slaughter and destruction."
"Holy Annihilation…"
Suddenly, Natsuki spoke, saying a strange term.
Remilia tilted her head in curiosity.
"Holy Annihilation? What's that?"
"It refers to the massive traces of unexplained destruction and carnage scattered across the world—allegedly caused by the Fourth Progenitor, just like Ren described."
For a brief moment, Remilia's eyes sparkled.
Even if the vampires of this world had picked the wrong skills, she was still curious about a fellow vampire with such overwhelming power. Her imagination was already running wild.
Picturing herself stepping on that so-called strongest vampire, reigning over the world, posing grandly.
And then making Ren take thousands of photos of her with Gungnir to send back to Gensokyo—so everyone could admire the greatness of the her.
All just Remilia's inner thoughts.
"You asking me this isn't just idle curiosity, is it…" Natsuki's eyes glinted with sharp insight.
She actually knew quite a bit about the Fourth Progenitor.
After all, the Banquet of Flames was going to be held on Island Itogami.
As the island's Attack Witch, Natsuki had been briefed on the event in advance.
Probably because the whole situation was troublesome, Natsuki didn't want to get involved. Ren hadn't seen her do anything about it, only quietly observing.
Unfortunately for her, while Natsuki didn't want to move—Ren was already preparing to act.
"Gozo Island, the Blazing Banquet… and Number Twelve…"
Understanding the timeline, Ren softly muttered a few names.
In an instant, Natsuki's expression changed drastically. Her eyes locked tightly onto Ren, filled with disbelief, as if trying to figure out how he knew.
It was understandable. The Gozo Island incident had happened over three years ago, and yet this was the first time Ren had come to this world—and somehow, he knew about something that long ago. It was hard not to be shocked.
Remilia watched curiously but said nothing more.
Since Ren already knew the inside story, she figured she might as well quietly observe.
Even though she hadn't spent much time with Ren, whether it was due to the contract between them or perhaps because of Flandre, the bond between her and Ren had grown much faster than expected.
At the very least, she had developed a basic level of trust in him.
"You sure know a lot," Natsuki said with a deep sigh. Ren simply shrugged.
"Well, if you're going to jump into another world and not gather information, you're not exactly qualified as a pet master who travels the multiverse raising pets every day."
Hmm... Even if he was only just starting as a "pet master," that part might be exaggerated—but in terms of strength, what he said wasn't wrong.
Ren thought that through, nodded slightly to himself after confirming it.
Natsuki didn't deny his words either. It was true: anyone hopping from world to world without researching would easily land themselves in deep trouble. Thinking about it like that, it made sense that Ren knew so much.
"But—why are you looking for the Fourth Primogenitor? You should know that the Fourth Primogenitor hasn't been born yet."
"Wait, what do you mean, 'hasn't been born yet'?" Remilia raised her hand and asked, feeling like she'd stumbled upon something interesting.
Ren silently gestured to Natsuki—he didn't feel like explaining all of it, so he handed the job to her instead.
Natsuki rolled her eyes and began speaking.
"In ancient times, there existed a now-extinct subspecies of gods—ancient-humans from the ancient era."
"They possessed strength, intelligence, and technology that modern humans couldn't even compare to. They built an extraordinarily advanced civilization in prehistoric times, creating many powerful weapons and magical tools."
"Some of them were so famous that they've been passed down as myths and legends even to this day."
"These beings were known as 'Deva.' And the Fourth Primogenitor was a god-slaying weapon jointly developed by the three Primogenitors and the Devas—the world's most powerful vampire."
"However, the people of Deva found its power too dangerous, so they sealed the Fourth Primogenitor, splitting it into twelve parts, each containing a beast of calamity. These twelve beasts were then sealed across various locations around the world."
"The twelfth vassal beast is currently sealed at MAR on Itogami Island. Once all twelve beasts awaken, the hosts carrying them will convene for the 'Blazing Banquet' to reassemble and awaken the Fourth Primogenitor."
"And Itogami Island is the location of that future ceremony."
As she finished, Natsuki's expression darkened. She clearly wasn't happy about it.
If she had a choice, she wouldn't want that event to happen at all. After all, this wasn't some faraway land—it was happening right on her own island. Who knew what chaos it would bring? But she had no way to stop it.
She couldn't handle that level of pressure on her own.
"I see... So it's an artificial ultimate vampire, huh? Sounds boring. But those beasts do sound interesting..." Remilia said, her gaze falling on Ren.
Coincidentally, Ren was also looking at her.
They both laughed at the same time.
"How about letting me—Remi—become the Fourth Primogenitor instead, Natsuki?"
Natsuki: "???"
This silly little vampire girl? Seriously?
