Chapter 82 - 82

Gwen swatted him playfully.

"Daisy is too pitiful. I suddenly feel so lucky! Not only do I have parents who have loved me since childhood, but I also met you!"

As Gwen spoke, she hugged Luo Di tightly, as if afraid he would disappear the next second.

"Luo Di, where do you think Daisy will go in the future?"

Gwen asked, still holding him.

"I don't know about that. We'll see where she wants to go then. I can drop her off if it's on the way."

Luo Di said.

Although Luo Di had some thoughts about Daisy, with his girlfriend right beside him, he couldn't openly do anything.

After all, he still had to consider Gwen's feelings.

But these were minor issues!

Luo Di felt he could handle it.

He had the hotel's room attendant buy a set of clothes.

After Luo Di took the bag from the female attendant, he turned and knocked on the guest room door.

"Daisy, can I come in?"

Luo Di asked from the doorway.

After waiting for a moment, the sound of slippers on the floor came from inside the room.

Then the guest room door opened.

Daisy, wearing a bathrobe, stood at the doorway, looking at Luo Di apologetically and saying, "I just took a shower. Come in."

She stepped aside to let Luo Di in.

After entering, Luo Di handed her the bag.

"These are some clothes I bought for you to change into. See if they fit."

Luo Di said.

Daisy took the bag and peeked inside.

There were outerwear, underwear, and pants—everything.

Luo Di was clearly very well prepared.

"Then please wait a moment. I'll be ready soon."

Daisy said, then took the bag and ran to the bathroom.

About ten minutes passed.

Daisy, having changed her clothes, walked out of the bathroom.

She was wearing the newly bought outfit, and it looked quite fitting.

"It fits well, thank you!"

Daisy walked up to Luo Di and thanked him again.

"Don't be so formal, it's just a set of clothes," Luo Di said. "We're going out to eat in a bit. Do you want to come along?"

Daisy was about to say she wasn't hungry, but before she could speak, her stomach rumbled.

This made Daisy blush instantly.

"You uncooperative stomach, you really picked the worst time to make noise!"

Daisy felt frustrated.

Luo Di, however, didn't think much of it. He simply said, "We'll come get you when we're about to leave. You can rest for a bit. We'll be heading out in about fifteen minutes."

"Mhm, okay."

Daisy responded softly, her head bowed, afraid Luo Di would see her flushed cheeks.

Only after Luo Di left did Daisy dare to lift her head.

"How embarrassing!"

She rubbed her hair in annoyance, feeling ashamed of her behavior just now.

After a while, Daisy suddenly looked down at the clothes she was wearing, a puzzled expression on her face.

"How did he know my size?"

As she thought about it, Daisy's face couldn't help but turn red again.

...

In the evening.

Luo Di and Gwen went to pick up Daisy, and the three of them went out for dinner together.

The day's events seemed to have little impact on the city.

Most Ordinary people were still living normally, unaffected by the previous turmoil.

In fact, after Luo Di and his companions finished dinner, they even saw many people holding what looked like a celebratory event in a nearby square.

There was a large bonfire in the center of the square, and many people were singing and dancing around it.

It didn't look at all like the city had suffered a terrifying attack during the day!

These people truly had big hearts.

Luo Di thought.

Seeing the performance in the square, the three of them stopped to enjoy it.

Standing among the crowd, Daisy's gaze subconsciously fell on Luo Di beside her.

She couldn't remember the last time she felt so safe.

But now, with Luo Di by her side, Daisy felt as if she didn't have to think about anything.

She just needed to quietly follow him, eat, drink, and play, and be a happy and cheerful girl. That was enough.

No need to think about those violent things.

No need to consider where to go tomorrow.

Daisy really liked this feeling; she even wanted to just succumb to it.

But when she saw Gwen, who was holding Luo Di on his other side, Daisy instantly sobered up.

...

Chapter 78: The Treasure Daisy Stole! Mass-Producing Inhumans? Taking in Daisy!

It was past 9 PM.

The activities in the square had just ended, and the three of them left and returned to the hotel after it concluded.

Back at the hotel, Daisy said she had something to discuss with them.

So Luo Di took a bottle of wine from the mini-bar, poured a glass for each of them, and the three of them sat down in the living room.

"Daisy, what do you want to talk about?"

Gwen sat down beside Luo Di and looked at Daisy, asking.

Daisy glanced at the two of them, then picked up her glass, took a sip, and began, "You must be curious why those people were chasing me, right?"

"Yes, Daisy, why were they chasing you?"

Gwen asked cooperatively.

"Uh, Gwen, you actually don't need to call me Daisy. Just call me Daisy."

Daisy felt a bit strange, and Gwen was only a year or two younger than her.

Being called "sister" made Daisy feel like she was being called old.

"Alright then, I'll just call you by your name from now on, Daisy."

Gwen nodded.

Daisy also smiled kindly at Gwen.

Then, Daisy's expression turned serious, and she said, "The reason those people were chasing me is because I stole something from them!"

Saying that, Daisy picked up the bag she had been carrying and never let out of her sight, unzipped it, and took out a small metal object from inside.

"It's this!"

Daisy placed it on the coffee table.

Luo Di and Gwen curiously examined the object.

This metal object looked like a small silver-white pyramid ornament. It appeared to be made of pure silver, but it felt light when held.

So it was either hollow, or it wasn't pure silver, but another type of metal.

"What is this thing for?"

Luo Di asked.

"It can allow Ordinary people to also gain the bloodline of the Inhumans!"

Daisy said seriously.

???

Upon hearing this answer, even though Luo Di had mentally prepared himself for this item to be some kind of treasure, he was still startled.

What the heck?

This small pyramid can turn Ordinary people into Inhumans?

Then in the future, wouldn't everyone have superpowers?

Billions of Inhumans worldwide?!

Luo Di imagined that scene, and his expression couldn't help but turn strange.

"Is this thing really that powerful?"

Luo Di didn't quite believe it.

The Inhumans were, after all, one of the races created by the Celestials.

If it could so easily turn an Ordinary person into an Inhumans, wouldn't that make the Celestials seem very unimpressive?

Can anyone just mess with the Celestials' creations?

Luo Di couldn't help but think of the Mutants in the X-Men World. Speaking of which, in the old X-Men movies, Magneto once created a machine that claimed it could turn Ordinary people into Mutants.

But what was the result?

Genetic collapse!

It proved that the machine was completely unreliable.

Although it could turn an Ordinary person into a Mutant, the result would lead to the entire person's genes becoming abnormal, constantly progressing in an irreversible direction.

The final result was complete genetic collapse!

The converted senator eventually turned into a puddle of Water.

So, this little trinket in front of him.

Does it also have certain drawbacks?

Luo Di felt there definitely were.

Otherwise, Jia Ying and the others would have probably already used this extensively to turn Ordinary people into Inhumans.

That way, they could also strengthen their forces!

But they didn't do that.

Why?
