Chapter 425 - Gastrea, the Key Element of Evolution Theory

The arm strength to shatter stars, the speed to surpass starlight.

Su Mo had only just begun to act, and Azi Dahaka was already forced to go all out, relying on the boost from Avesta just to put up a fight.

Realizing that he would be at a disadvantage in close combat, Azi Dahaka took a step back to create distance.

Where he had just been standing, the blood of the evil god dripped and fell to the earth. The rocks, plants, soil, and rivers, upon being blessed by the Divinity of his blood, gradually transformed, forming twisted, two-headed dragons.

"GEYAAA!"

The two-headed dragons roared piercingly at Su Mo, displaying a Divinity at the level of a congenital god or buddha—in other words, the 4-Digit level.

The Divinity of the evil god cursed every drop of his blood, making each one capable of creating a 4-Digit clone. And when these clones were injured, their blood could, in turn, spawn the next generation of clones.

Although the Divinity of the secondary clones would drop to the 5-Digit level, their sheer numbers would still cause incredible damage if unleashed upon the lower world.

Seemingly intending to stall for time, Azi Dahaka even intentionally tore open the freshly healed wound on his chest to deliberately create more clones.

Divine blood trickled down, forming a blood mist that was swept up by the fierce wind and scattered across the surrounding mountains and rivers, coalescing into one divine-level clone after another.

In less than a few minutes, he had single-handedly created an army of divine-level beings.

Seeing this scene, the Moon Rabbit clan was utterly shocked. "He built an army of god-group-level strength... all by himself?"

The divine-level clones Azi Dahaka had created in an instant were more than enough to annihilate the entire Moon Rabbit clan. The power of this evil god was simply too terrifying.

"Lord Su Mo... should be okay, right?" Little Black Rabbit looked at Su Mo with concern. She believed he was strong enough, but the enemy was so ferocious, and seeing him fight all alone inevitably made one worry.

"If it's just these things, they're nothing to Su Mo," Indra shook his head, though his expression was not exactly relaxed. "The problem is that no matter what kind of power Su Mo uses, it will be nullified by Avesta..."

With Su Mo's strength, no one doubted that he could easily annihilate an entire god-group. But to do so using a power outside of Avesta's copying range was very difficult for a god.

Even Indra could only think of one method: the weapon he had entrusted to Su Mo. It was a weapon belonging to the Zoroastrian cosmology, an accumulation of Divinity from his time as the evil god Indra.

But was it too early to play this trump card against these mere clones?

Just as he was thinking this...

"No problem, I'll just step in!" Shiroyasha, who had been watching from the sidelines, immediately rubbed her hands together with excitement, eager to help.

Although she couldn't defeat Azi Dahaka, eliminating a few mere clones was a piece of cake for her. Azi Dahaka was currently focused on defending against Su Mo; he shouldn't have the spare energy to interfere with her actions.

However, before Shiroyasha could make a move, Su Mo's voice came from the battlefield. "No need!"

Looking at the army of divine-level clones assembled before him, Su Mo was momentarily taken aback, then immediately shook his head to stop her. "I have an idea I want to test."

If he wanted to, Su Mo had hundreds of ways to deal with the clones before him. But seeing the way they were dividing, a certain inspiration suddenly struck him.

After studying the structure of vampires previously, Su Mo had concluded that the vampire form was one of the possible evolutionary paths for humanity's future—and a path doomed to failure.

The pure-blooded dragon species was the final answer to humanity's future evolution.

To completely overcome the Eschatology theory, one had to know how to evolve from a human base to a pure-blooded dragon.

It was necessary to map out a viable evolutionary route for the pure-blooded dragon species, a species that stood above the tree of life, and successfully complete the evolutionary tree.

After reaching this conclusion, Su Mo had worked day and night with Lamia and Leticia to study the structure of vampires.

After successful research, he confirmed that vampires lacked a key element, which was why they couldn't ascend to become pure-blooded dragons.

What this key element was had been undecided before, causing the analysis of pure-blooded dragons to temporarily stall.

It wasn't until this moment that another inspiration suddenly occurred to Su Mo.

If he couldn't map out the evolutionary route of pure-blooded dragons from the bottom up, starting from the basic units of the evolutionary tree, could he do it the other way around, by deconstructing the Divinity of a dragon to reverse-engineer the key element?

Not evolving a human into a pure-blooded dragon, but devolving a pure-blooded dragon into a human.

This act of finding the proof from the answer would be considered cheating on an exam, but in Little Garden, it was clearly an allowed, even encouraged, operation.

If not, Little Garden wouldn't have summoned the pure-blooded dragon species—the standard answer—from the very beginning.

The Divinity of a pure-blooded dragon contained an indecomposable mystery. Su Mo had already tried this; its Divinity's puzzle belonged to an unobservable domain and could not be directly analyzed.

So, theoretically, this operation was not feasible.

But, what if it wasn't a pure-blooded dragon?

From the Divinity of a species that was similar to, but not the same as, a pure-blooded dragon, could he discover the key element for constructing the Divinity of a pure-blooded dragon?

"Being a dragon, and at the same time, a Last Embryo related to the Third Stellar Particle..." Thinking of this, Su Mo looked at Azi Dahaka, his eyes filled with deep meaning. "Could this be a mere coincidence?"

"Oh!" Although she didn't understand what Su Mo wanted to verify, seeing that he had his own plans, Shiroyasha immediately nodded obediently and chose to stand down.

And on the battlefield, under the watchful eyes of all, Su Mo also activated his own Divinity. "I say, let there be life."

It was like a reenactment of a scene from the Bible, from Genesis.

After Su Mo's words fell, all kinds of life were suddenly born from the sky, the earth, and the sea. The moment these lives were born, they immediately surged like an army towards the legion formed by Azi Dahaka's clones.

"How can ordinary life be a match for divine-level clones... Wait, what is this?!" The moment these frail lives were born, all the deities who sensed their weak auras were extremely puzzled.

These creatures were, at best, at the level of beasts, not even having reached the 7-Digit level.

How could they possibly be a match for divine-level clones?

However, this doubt was completely overturned just a dozen seconds later.

In the first second, the tide-like beasts were indeed no match for the divine-level clones and were crushed by a single breath of fire.

But in the next second, these creatures, whose hearts had been torn out and limbs shattered, displayed an unrivaled molecular-level regeneration ability and quickly revived.

Not only did they revive, but these beasts also devoured each other, their auras instantly strengthening several dozen times, and they multiplied through continuous expansion.

In just a dozen seconds, they had nurtured a 5-Digit level Divinity.

Hundreds of creatures with almost immortal-level regeneration abilities continued to attack the legion of two-headed dragon clones.

Within this beast tide, one could see with the naked eye that twelve even more terrifying auras were brewing.

Looking at the black beast tide before him, Indra couldn't help but be dumbfounded. "Just looking at the appearance, how come Su Mo looks more like the villain than Azi Dahaka?"

His words were not exactly flattering, but no one present refuted this evaluation. Even Lamia, who was extremely grateful and trusted Su Mo, couldn't help but feel a little scared when she saw the monsters born from the black beast tide. It couldn't be helped; they were truly too twisted.

They simultaneously possessed the head of a bull, the stripes of a zebra, the feathers of a bird, and the tail of a snake, as well as the features of dozens, even hundreds of other creatures, all fused together.

Although many creatures in mythology were also such chimeras—fantastical species like griffins—a fantastical species so twisted and devoid of any aesthetic appeal had never appeared in Little Garden before.

If Azi Dahaka's clones were just sinister in style, looking like some evil-doer or classic villain, then the creatures in the black beast tide were more like the indescribable, incomprehensible cultish beings of the Cthulhu Mythos.

An evil-doer was still within the scope of understanding, but a cultish being was completely beyond the scope of human comprehension.

"Tsk, I never thought I'd agree with a useless god like you one day," even Canary couldn't help but shake her head when she saw these twisted creatures. "Never mind us, even Kouryuu, who loves to make friends with unknown creatures the most, would have nightmares seeing these things!"

No matter how you looked at them, those lives did not seem to possess any rationality. But this was not a beauty pageant. More worthy of attention than the appearance of these lives was the dynamic of the battlefield.

"Hmm? Azi Dahaka didn't activate Avesta? Is this power not from the Christian legacy?" Staring intently at Azi Dahaka's movements, Canary's expression was one of extreme surprise.

Looking at the current situation, it was clear that the lives summoned by Su Mo had the upper hand.

Although they were still at a disadvantage now, it was not difficult to see from their evolutionary speed that in another dozen seconds, those 5-Digit fusion monsters would evolve to the 4-Digit level and formally stand on equal footing with the two-headed dragons.

At their core, twelve monsters had already evolved to the 4-Digit level, displaying terrifying mountain-like bodies.

If Azi Dahaka did not interfere, not to mention the god-group constructed from his clones, these black beast tides could even threaten his true body.

But he had yet to make a move. Looking at his astonished expression, it didn't seem like he had some other plan, but that he couldn't?

Canary's question was also the question of the gods. They were all a little puzzled by the fusion monsters that Su Mo had summoned. Among everyone present, only one person recognized the origin of these monsters.

"Gastrea?!" Shiroyasha's eyes widened. She had never expected Su Mo to bring the power of these monsters over.

"Lady Shiroyasha knows the origin of these monsters?" Canary immediately looked over with curiosity.

"Yeah, more or less!" Shiroyasha nodded vaguely. "I can't go into the specifics, but in short, these monsters are the product of integrating biological genes through technological means and a special virus, similar to the chimera of mythological concepts."

If Kisuke could see this scene, she would surely recognize that this was a specialty of her own world.

"Synthetic beasts? No wonder. Looking closely, they do resemble the runaway form of the Genome Tree (Tree of Life) that Kouryuu mentioned before." Hearing Shiroyasha's introduction, Canary showed a look of realization.

Although Shiroyasha was a bit vague, key information could still be extracted. The user of the Genome Tree would continuously stack the Divinities of various creatures, consuming their human Divinity.

When they overused the Gift and completely lost their human Divinity, they would become a fusion monster with the forms of various creatures.

Also as monsters that had fused various life factors, the creatures created by Su Mo were indeed very similar to the runaway form of the Genome Tree.

In addition, Shiroyasha had mentioned that this was a product of genetic engineering through technological means, which meant...

"Not from the Christian legacy, but from the power of Evolution Theory... No wonder Avesta can't imitate it. This is a cosmology unique to humanity!"

Back then, the Dystopian Demon Lord could not ignore the power of Evolution Theory, and now, the Absolute Evil Demon Lord also could not do so.

"In that case, if Kouryuu were here, he should be able to help a little, but Lord Su Mo might not need it."

Looking at the scene before her, where the legion of two-headed dragon clones was gradually being pushed back by the Gastrea legion, Canary blinked, and another question suddenly emerged in her mind.

"Two consecutive Last Embryos are unable to ignore Evolution Theory and the Genome Tree... is this really just a coincidence?"

What is the deep meaning behind Lord Su Mo deliberately using this power against Azi Dahaka?

After this question emerged in her mind, Canary subconsciously followed Su Mo's gaze to the battlefield. Noticing a certain detail, she was slightly taken aback, and her pupils suddenly constricted.

"Could it be... the key element is—"
