Just as one could deduce that the vampire's evolutionary path was related to abnormal solar activity through their fear of light, one should also be able to infer the corresponding factors by understanding the core concepts of the curses they bore.
For example, the characteristic of bloodsucking, or the curse of devouring one's own children, could very well originate from the characteristics of the Third Stellar Particle—its ability to devour living beings for inheritance.
Knowing what made vampires fearsome was almost enough to reverse-engineer the points where they were detrimental to and resisted by human history.
From there, one could deduce the origin of the vampire Divinity and perhaps even obtain information about the correct evolutionary path.
"So that was your line of thinking... As expected of Lord Su Mo!" After understanding his meaning, Lamia nodded in realization and then asked, "Lord Su Mo, how will you investigate and analyze the difference in Divinity between my sister and me?"
"Basic physical contact will be efficient enough," Su Mo replied. "You don't mind, do you?"
Even someone as conservative as Leticia probably wouldn't mind something as trivial as holding hands. Su Mo's question was merely a matter of courtesy.
Unexpectedly, upon hearing this, Lamia suddenly looked up, her attitude slightly coy. After glancing at her sister, she seemed to make up her mind, bit her lip, and nodded. "If it's you, Lord Su Mo, I don't mind. Besides, you are my master, so you don't need my consent."
As she spoke, the vampire loli looked up at Su Mo, her crimson eyes looking inexplicably shy. "However, may I make a request?"
"What is it?" Su Mo asked, puzzled.
"Could we... go inside a room?" Lamia looked at the surrounding wilderness and pleaded slightly. "It would be best if there were a change of clothes too. Otherwise, for me, this environment is a bit... too stimulating."
"?"
Question marks appeared above both Su Mo and Leticia's heads. It was just a simple Divinity check. What was so stimulating about it? Is it really that serious? And why would she need a change of clothes?
"Very well." Despite his questions, Su Mo didn't dwell on such trivial matters and agreed to Lamia's request.
And so, a Boundary Gate opened, and they traveled from Lamia's sealing place to the Arcadia headquarters, specifically to Leticia's room. Finding a private room was easy, but finding clothes that fit Lamia was not.
Considering privacy, the most suitable option was naturally Leticia's room.
Coincidentally, the maid Kāla had previously prepared plenty of clothes for Leticia's loli form, a size that would fit Lamia perfectly.
After placing the change of clothes Lamia had requested by the bed, the maid Kāla immediately took her leave along with Canary.
"Then I won't disturb you, Lord Su Mo. Just summon me when you're finished!" Canary said, her eyes crinkling into a vixen-like smile.
"Hmm?" Leticia's senses tingled with alarm, but she couldn't pinpoint what was wrong. What is that vixen plotting?
Before she could get to the bottom of it, her sister Lamia took her hand, stopping her. "Sister, we shouldn't keep Lord Su Mo waiting!"
"Right." Hearing this, Leticia had to drop the matter and was pulled by Lamia to stand before Su Mo.
"Master, let's begin!" the vampire loli said, suppressing the nervous trembling in her heart. She took a deep breath, grabbed a pillow from Leticia's bed to place beneath her, and extended a hand towards Su Mo, her face a mask of grim determination.
Ignoring Lamia's somewhat inexplicable mood, Su Mo reached out, taking Leticia's and Lamia's slender hands in his own.
"Ngh~"
It was a light touch, no more than a doctor taking a pulse, yet the moment he held her hand, an unbelievably coquettish moan escaped her lips.
The girl's voice was childish and trembling, as if she were enduring something, or perhaps building up to it. It sounded a bit like a cat in heat.
Su Mo and Leticia froze, both turning to look at Lamia, noticing the deep blush on her cheeks.
"It's fine, please continue!" Lamia forced herself to say, not even noticing that her snow-white skin had turned the color of a cooked crab and her body had begun to squirm unconsciously, the sound of fabric rustling audible.
It was then that Su Mo remembered something. "Among the myriad curses vampires have suffered, is there one with traits similar to a succubus?" he asked suddenly.
"Yes," Leticia nodded, looking at her sister in confusion. "But would a succubus constitution make her get a fever so easily?"
Allurement and beauty were basic traits of vampires; Leticia knew that.
But why a vampire, who was usually cold to the touch, would suddenly become hot and start writhing was beyond her comprehension.
As far as she knew, vampires didn't get fevers!
"No, this isn't a fever." Feeling the trembling of the girl's fingertips and her increasingly dewy expression, Su Mo finally realized the problem.
She was clearly in heat.
Whether it was a constitution triggered by any member of the opposite sex or only a preferred one, it was clear that Lamia's current situation was not normal.
No wonder she had prepared a pillow for her chair in advance; she must have anticipated this and intended to use it for... absorption.
However, before he could voice this, Lamia tearfully interrupted him. "It's fine, Lord Su Mo, I can handle it!" The vampire girl looked at him with watery eyes, a hint of pleading in them, as if she didn't want her sister to know her current state.
To get aroused by the person my sister likes, right in front of her... this is too humiliating to even think about!
It seemed that while she had braced herself, this was her first time experiencing such a feeling, and she hadn't anticipated such a strong reaction.
Su Mo naturally did not refuse the girl's request.
And so, as Lamia's breathing grew ragged and her body went limp, Su Mo calmed his mind and began a deep exploration of their respective Divinities.
Several minutes later, Su Mo opened his eyes and released their hands. "Thank you for your cooperation. I've gotten my results."
Hearing this, Leticia let out a sigh of relief, then looked at her sister with concern. "Lamia, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
Leticia was completely baffled, looking at her sister who had gone completely limp on the table less than ten seconds into the process. To this moment, she still didn't know what Lamia meant by "I can handle it," nor whether she had, in fact, handled it.
At her sister's concerned inquiry, Lamia lay on the table with vacant eyes, still lacking the strength to move, her delicate lips seeming to mutter something. With Leticia's hearing, leaning closer, she could roughly make out her sister's words.
"I'll never be able to get married now!"
Huh? What does that mean?
Besides that...
"Is that the sound of splashing?" Leticia looked doubtfully in the direction of Lamia's chair. For some reason, she felt that her sister's scent had grown a little stronger.
Just then, the immobilized Lamia used all her strength to cast a pleading look at Su Mo.
"It's nothing, just a normal phenomenon," Su Mo said suddenly, diverting Leticia's attention. "Go and tell Canary I'll share the information I've gathered shortly. Lamia can stay here and clean up."
"Yes!" Hearing Su Mo's command, Leticia stood up reflexively and accepted the order. Only after she spoke did she ask in confusion, "Clean up?" What needs cleaning up?
"Just minor things like recovering her strength and cleaning her body," Su Mo said with a wave of his hand, making Leticia nod in a daze.
It wasn't until after she left that Leticia realized the suspicious points. Why did she need to clean her body? And why did Lamia prepare a change of clothes in advance?
But by then, the door was closing, and the opportunity to ask was gone. The only detail her sharp eyes caught was that her pillow, which Lamia had been sitting on, seemed to have changed color, as if it had been soaked by something.
What happened? It was just a Divinity check. Is it really necessary to sweat that much?
