Chapter 401 - Humanity's Future Form; Lamia, the Vampire Princess

The origin of the vampire Divinity was related to the Third Stellar Particle.

While not many among the god-groups might have known this, for Su Mo and Canary, this information was no secret.

With a little deduction, it was clear that since vampires came from the distant future, they must have already overcome the current eschatology.

And the key to humanity overcoming this apocalypse was the application of the Third Stellar Particle.

In the original story, the main reason Canary entered Leticia's Gift Game, freed her from her Demon Lord state, and recruited her as a companion was largely due to this factor.

Leticia was not the Third Stellar Particle Original Text that played a crucial role during the historical transition period, but rather the Original Text among human descendants after overcoming the apocalypse.

As a human descendant who had overcome eschatology, a great deal of important information could naturally be obtained from her.

For example, what methods to use to apply the Third Stellar Particle so that human history would not head towards destruction.

In a sense, this was a form of cheating on an exam—having your successful future self tell you the method of success.

But time paradoxes had always been a part of Little Garden's development, and this operation was not forbidden.

"Canary!" Hearing Canary's repeated teasing, Leticia called out her name, slightly annoyed and embarrassed, and lowered her voice. "It's one thing to bully me, but don't joke about Lord Su Mo's reputation!"

She genuinely felt she was not qualified to be so presumptuous.

"So, you're saying you'd agree if Lord Su Mo didn't mind?" Canary retorted. Seeing the shadow of a dragon stirring behind Leticia, she immediately raised her hands in surrender. "Sorry, sorry, I won't expose you."

"..." Leticia glared at the girl. Her words sounded awkward no matter how she heard them. But Su Mo had already started speaking, so she temporarily suppressed the urge to scold her.

"There's no need to bear offspring. I can give you the answer now. The vampire clan does indeed have the power of the Third Stellar Particle in their bodies," Su Mo said, looking at Canary with conviction. No one knew the Third Stellar Particle better than he did. The moment he first saw Leticia, Su Mo had confirmed this point.

"I knew it!" Canary nodded in realization. "Then the only remaining question is how to apply the Third Stellar Particle so that humanity can overcome the apocalypse and attain the vampire form!"

If they could determine the source of the vampire Divinity's mutation, they could trace it back and find the method to overcome the apocalypse.

Like an exam candidate who had seen the answer key in advance, all that was left was to reverse-engineer the proof from the conclusion.

Seeing Canary's excited look, Su Mo shook his head. "No. Before that, are you really sure that the vampire form is humanity's proper future, the only answer to overcoming the apocalypse?"

"Huh?" Hearing Su Mo's sudden turn of phrase, Canary blinked, a little stunned. "An evolutionary plan that can overcome the apocalypse and reach the future, if that's not the answer, then what is... Wait, you said 'only'?!"

Halfway through her confused question, Canary noticed Su Mo's choice of words and suddenly understood his meaning.

She had thought it was a multiple-choice question with a single answer, and was just working backward from the solution. She never expected it to be a question with multiple correct answers.

"Are you saying that besides the vampire direction, there are other possibilities for the development of human history?" Canary asked, quite shocked.

Before this, for both her and the god-groups, having just one method to overcome eschatology was a blessing.

After all, this exam didn't require a perfect score; as long as they guessed one correct answer, human history could continue.

But from Su Mo's attitude, it seemed he was certain of multiple solutions to overcoming eschatology, and even had the luxury of choosing?

Even for someone as intelligent and cunning as Canary, she couldn't fathom, for a moment, what the mysteries of Little Garden meant from Su Mo's perspective. A pastime for after dinner?

Seeing Canary's surprised look, Su Mo shook his head. "It's just basic reasoning."

"I'm all ears," Canary said, adopting a listening posture.

"It's simple. The human world was born from the grace of the sun. Even after abandoning their home planet Earth and entering the sea of stars, the brilliance of stars remains the strongest source of energy..." Su Mo pointed out these basic facts.

The fact that the Sun Authority could interfere with the center of Little Garden and even human history showed the importance of solar activity to human civilization.

"In this cosmic context, the future form that humanity evolves into is a vampire that fears the brilliance of the sun... Do you think that's reasonable?"

A race born basking in the grace of the sun, ultimately evolving into a form that fears its brilliance—it just didn't seem right no matter how you looked at it.

"Gasp... the weakness to the sun..." Canary quickly understood Su Mo's meaning and adopted a thoughtful expression.

Leticia and Kāla blinked, also quite surprised. For the vampire clan, this was an innate characteristic. They were so used to it that they had never realized it was a problem.

But if vampires were truly a phantasmal form of humanity's future, then their photophobia might indeed have a profound reason.

"From what I know so far, I only know that vampires might be related to the Sun Authority. I don't know anything else..." After thinking for more than ten seconds without any results, Canary shook her head and looked at Su Mo.

"Do you have any conclusions, Lord Su Mo?"

"I do," Su Mo nodded. "A very simple question: why would humans who have already overcome eschatology fear the sun?"

Dying in sunlight—this characteristic was clearly just the conceptualization of humanity's fear of the sun. The key was, why would humans fear the sun?

It couldn't be that they were afraid the sun would explode, right?

Wait! Just as this absurd thought flashed through her mind, Canary's eyes widened. It didn't seem impossible after all!

"Lord Su Mo, are you saying that in the future, the sun might have abnormal activity, or become a red giant?"

When a star passes through its long main-sequence phase and enters old age, it will become a red giant.

At that time, the sun will gradually expand, directly swallowing the orbits of Mercury and Venus, and approaching Earth.

Even if Earth isn't swallowed by the sun, it will be roasted into a small ball of magma by the intense heat radiation.

And even if the high temperature isn't considered, Earth could be affected by the extreme activity of the red giant and be destroyed before being swallowed. For example, a helium flash.

"Mhm," Su Mo nodded. "Sooner or later, the sun will become a threat to humanity. And even in the future, there's only one way for humanity to survive this threat: abandon their home planet and establish new survival bases."

"The safest way is naturally to first build an artificial satellite, and eventually convert it into a planet in the solar system, protecting themselves by moving away from the sun."

Whether it was leaving the solar system for the stars or staying in the solar system and waiting for a technological breakthrough, humanity at that time would have to be wary of the sun's threat.

"To avoid the sun's activity, they gradually evolved into nocturnal, light-avoiding creatures..." Canary nodded in understanding, comprehending the meaning of the vampire evolutionary path and Su Mo's point.

"Doing so in the short term isn't a problem, but if this evolution continues in the long term, and humanity abandons the use and research of stellar energy for the sake of safety, they might be trapped in the solar system forever... and might even disappear completely along with the sun."

Overcoming the current eschatology didn't mean humanity's future would be smooth sailing.

If they chose the wrong technology path in the future and failed to successfully utilize stellar energy, humanity's technological development might stagnate.

Although the sun wouldn't go supernova due to its insufficient mass, after becoming a white dwarf, it would no longer radiate the energy it does now, and the entire solar system might freeze.

This was also a kind of death sentence. If humanity took the wrong path on this issue, even if they could overcome the current apocalypse, they wouldn't be able to overcome the future one.

If human history could be destroyed before evolving into vampires, and could still be destroyed after evolving into vampires, then wouldn't the evolution be for nothing?

"Then what kind of evolutionary path do you think is the correct one?" Canary continued to ask, her tone becoming much more reverent.

Compared to herself, who was still racking her brains on how to overcome the current apocalypse, Su Mo was undoubtedly looking much further ahead.

"On the path of evolution, there is no consideration of right or wrong, only whether it's adapted to the environment and whether it can survive," Su Mo corrected her, then looked at Leticia. "I do have an idea now, but it needs to be verified through the most typical vampire."

"The most typical vampire?" Canary was a little confused by Su Mo's description.

"Lord Su Mo, are you talking about... me?" Leticia was also stunned for a moment. After exchanging a look with her maid Kāla, she pointed at herself. "If Lord Su Mo wants it, I will cooperate fully in whatever you do!"

In the current Little Garden, there seemed to be no one more typical than herself, the only remaining vampire royalty. Leticia immediately stated her position.

But to her surprise, Su Mo actually shook his head. "No, I'm not talking about you."

Under the slightly confused gaze of the loli-form Leticia, Su Mo said something that made her head buzz with complete and utter surprise.

"I'm talking about your younger sister, Lamia."
