Chapter 304 - The New World Sovereignty, the Destruction of Sodom

Regardless of the others, who each had their own issues, what about the Cursed Children?

Tendō Kisara looked towards the girls in the distance, who were assisting the other angels and learning their duties, and found herself unable to understand.

What sins could these children possibly bear?

"Possessing the power to resist, yet choosing not to. Believing in the empty promises of others over cold reality," Su Mo explained calmly. "This weakness is the result of the two sins of sloth and greed."

Sloth, in easily accepting the deception of others instead of thinking for oneself. Greed, in craving the acceptance of human society to the point of not daring to fight back.

If man is born with original sin, then even a child is not a symbol of innate innocence.

On the contrary, because of their ignorance, they need guidance even more.

"Of course, this weakness is a shackle for most good people. Even the hero once recognized by this world could not escape this original sin."

As Su Mo spoke, Satomi Rentarō was undergoing his judgment. As if to prove Su Mo's words, he too bore original sin.

Because he was too weak, he had failed to turn his spear against humanity itself, failed to pursue the Five Wings Association from the start. He believed too much in human society, wishfully thinking that as long as the external enemy was defeated, there would be no internal problems.

He never considered that the so-called external enemy was, from the very beginning, a result of humanity's internal struggles.

Of course, in the Christian cosmology, having original sin doesn't matter.

Everyone has it, even the Pope. As long as one holds faith, they can ultimately receive God's forgiveness and have their sins washed away.

Thus, under the baptism of holy water, Satomi Rentarō, along with the very few righteous individuals who had managed to maintain their integrity in a twisted environment, earned the right to remain in heaven.

"Weakness..." Hearing Su Mo's words, Tendō Kisara was slightly stunned. If that was the case, she herself was not without weakness.

If she hadn't held onto so many extravagant hopes back then, and had taken revenge with her own strength, she might not have had to wait for an opportunity that never came.

However, she had always been aware of her own weakness, which was why she had refused an artificial kidney until her revenge was complete.

She had been afraid of becoming too comfortable with a peaceful life and forgetting the grudge of her parents.

Thinking back, the reason those children with such great power didn't resist was probably because they hoped to one day be accepted by the crowd.

"I understand," Tendō Kisara nodded.

"I understand as well," the Seitenshi beside her said, her expression one of sudden enlightenment. As the righteous one designated by Su Mo, she was not without sin either.

She had always known that Tendō Kikunojō opposed her policies, but because she needed his support, she had fantasized about changing the old man instead of building her own power base.

Looking back now, that fantasy was itself a form of weakness.

Rin Tohsaka: "Hmm, when you put it that way, the concept of everyone having original sin is really universal."

Rin Tohsaka: "But, since the weakness of Zoroastrianism is its inability to ensure the victory of the good side, what about Christianity? Is this cosmology flawless?" she asked curiously.

By abandoning the concept of worldly victory, Christianity placed all value judgments on the Last Judgment, entrusting them to God.

This method of setting aside disputes sounded almost invincible. As long as the Last Judgment hadn't arrived, it seemed that nothing could shake a believer's faith.

Su Mo: "Of course not."

He shook his head, not shying away from the topic.

Su Mo: "Placing all disputes in the hereafter means there are no constraints on the present world. If everyone is sinful, then no one needs to be absolved of their sins, as long as they can be saved."

Su Mo: "If Zoroastrianism is prone to the extreme of 'might makes right,' then Christianity's biggest problem is its denial of human divinity, allowing the world to become a paradise for true villains because of original sin."

Everyone has sin can easily evolve into everyone has no sin. Since we are all sinners, we can do whatever we want, as long as we can earn the qualification for salvation.

Such a cosmology can easily lead the upper echelons to abandon even the most basic constraints and commit all sorts of evil deeds that transcend the bounds of morality and ethics.

Compared to Zoroastrianism's guidance towards good, Christianity's tolerance for evil is on a completely different level.

In social practice, it can easily evolve into situations where people pillage and plunder during the day and piously repent at night, or even scalp people in the name of God.

Although it seems to be an improvement in theory, compared to Zoroastrianism's attitude of needing to vanquish evil, Christianity simply incorporates evil as part of the order, giving a sense of "if you can't beat them, join them."

Su Mo: "In the worst of times, this cosmology will turn the world into a beast's paradise, devoid of good and evil, with only primordial chaos remaining."

Su Mo: "Just as the Dystopian Demon Lord once did."

If the weakness of Zoroastrianism is destruction in struggle, the weakness of Christianity is rotting after reaching the peak of prosperity.

Su Mo: "Of course, all of this is based on the premise that God does not exist."

If a god exists, if there is a truly independent third-party inspection agency, then none of these problems are problems at all.

Rin Tohsaka: "If God exists, how can he interfere with such an outcome?" the twin-tailed loli asked curiously.

Before Su Mo could answer, Erica spoke up.

Erica Blandelli: "Are you silly?"

Rin Tohsaka: "What do you mean?"

Erica Blandelli: "A world full of villains, the will of a god descending, and a righteous person designated by Lord Su Mo... with all these elements together, you still can't guess the ending?"

Being slightly more sensitive to mythology, she had vaguely guessed Su Mo's intentions the moment the Seitenshi was designated as the righteous one.

Rin hadn't noticed at first, but Erica's words made her realize.

Rin Tohsaka: "...Sodom?!"

Erica Blandelli: "That's right. The second coming of the myth, the destruction of Sodom!"

As if to confirm Erica's guess, Su Mo raised his hand slightly.

While the Last Judgment was underway, an image of the current Earth was projected in the sky.

Unparalleled sulfur and fire rained down from the heavens, destroying the entire land. Magma surged in waves, turning even the areas untouched by Cancer into life-forbidden zones. The entire planet, like a cake made of lava or a small sun, became a ball of light.

Upon this ocean of magma, the last of the Zodiacs, the world-destroying culprit Cancer, was bombarded by sulfur and fire. It revealed a form with seven heads and ten horns, gradually evolving into the mythical Red Dragon.

The chimera, which contained the genes of many creatures and was very similar to the Catalog of Life, seemed to be reorganizing its genes under the grace of God, approaching the form of a pure-blooded dragon that did not exist on the evolutionary tree.

However, midway through its evolution, the seven-headed, ten-horned demon was bound by chains and buried deep within the planet's core. It would likely not break free from hell until the next apocalypse.

By then, the earth had been turned into a scorched land.

Watching the planet's destruction, all the souls trembled.

The great flood that had originally been meant to wipe out the world, upon contact with the magma-destroyed regions, underwent a chemical reaction, giving birth to various organic and inorganic salts.

The primordial soup that had appeared on Earth billions of years ago was reborn in this world.

Su Mo said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

From the corpse of the old world, a new world was naturally born.

Rin Tohsaka: "Is this what creation looks like?"

The members of the group were somewhat moved.

They had seen the splendor of world destruction many times, but the sight of creation was rare. The last time was in the world of No Game No Life, and it was also Su Mo's doing.

Erica Blandelli: "But why does it feel a little different from last time?"

Erica noticed that compared to the hands-on approach last time, where everything was forcibly rolled back by the world's sovereignty, this time Su Mo didn't seem to interfere much. It was as if a saint was watching patiently, letting the world below flourish on its own.

But even though he didn't interfere much, it felt more harmonious and natural.

Hearing her words, Su Mo explained casually,

Su Mo: "Last time, I interfered with the world by relying on its sovereignty. But this time..."

He raised his hand slightly, and golden light gathered from all directions, finally forming a shining golden dodecahedron.

Su Mo: "This time, I obtained the world's sovereignty by interfering with it."

Feeling the power that was identical to the Star Grail, Su Mo smiled with satisfaction.

At this point, the cosmology of the Fallen and Original Sin had completed its expansion, completely incorporating the world of Black Bullet under its view.

And with the complete expansion of the cosmology, Su Mo not only received the bonus of world sovereignty but also greatly enhanced his understanding of the cosmology itself.
