Chapter 204 - Ishtar: "Daddy! I'm your dearest daughter!"

"Oh right! I still have school!"

Hearing this, Rin Tohsaka, who had been wondering if she should just grow up quickly like this, temporarily shelved the idea. Even if she grew up using such a cheat method, if she hadn't matured at all, wouldn't she just become a useless person? She had no desire to be useless.

"Since the Holy Grail War has already begun, then... huh?!"

Just as she was about to say something, Rin suddenly felt a burning sensation on her arm. Her eyes widened as she looked down to see a set of bright red Command Spells engraved on the back of her delicate hand.

"Command Spells?!"

Having a sufficient understanding of the Holy Grail system, she immediately recognized the meaning of the mark, and she instantly panicked.

"L-Lord Su Mo, I have no intention of competing against you, you have to believe me!"

The twintailed little girl tossed aside her teddy bear and hugged Su Mo with teary eyes, looking utterly pitiful.

Having been raised as a mage since childhood, she was well aware of the brutality of magical ritual competitions, and she understood the rules of the Holy Grail War. On a stage where lives were at stake, no matter how good their relationship was, there was no room to hold back when they became opponents.

Especially against Su Mo. Forget declaring war; just standing on the same battlefield as him was enough to get her killed ten thousand times over.

Su Mo, naturally, didn't doubt Rin's panicked state.

"Being chosen by the Holy Grail means you do have a desire for it, doesn't it?" he asked deliberately.

"I don't!" Rin panicked even more. "At most, I just want to snatch the Holy Grail from my father to prove that his decision to abandon Sakura was wrong! I have no intention of making an enemy of you, Lord Su Mo!"

Clearly, she was a very filial daughter.

"That's a good wish," Su Mo nodded, seeing her trembling form.

"Huh?" Rin was slightly taken aback.

"I mean, after the Holy Grail War is over in a little while, I can grant that wish for you," Su Mo repeated. Seeing Rin's still dazed expression, he asked in return, "You don't think the Greater Grail's wishes are useful to me, do you?"

"Of course not!" The twintailed little girl immediately shook her head, her expression brightening. Oh, right! To Lord Su Mo, the Holy Grail War itself is meaningless. He doesn't care about the so-called prize, so naturally, he wouldn't see me as a competitor.

So, was I worried for nothing?

"Wait... in a little while?" she asked, finally noticing Su Mo's choice of words.

"Mm," Su Mo nodded as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "A mere Holy Grail War. Do you think it's worth wasting half my night on?"

His tone was incredibly arrogant. No Holy Grail War in history had ever been resolved in a single night, let alone half a night. But considering Su Mo's strength, Rin felt that his wording was actually a bit conservative. If this great lord was willing, he could probably clear the entire ritual in less than half an hour.

Before she could reply, Su Mo glanced at the Command Spells on her hand and said, "Summon your Servant. Just proceed according to the normal procedure. The reason you were chosen is most likely because the Greater Grail wants to save time."

The Fourth Holy Grail War was clearly short on participants, to the point that in the original timeline, even an ordinary person like Uryu Ryunosuke could sneak in. But this time, a murderer like him naturally had no chance to appear. As a mage, Rin was clearly a more suitable Master.

"Yes!"

Rin Tohsaka would naturally not refuse Su Mo's command. She stood up barefoot from the bed, and just as she was about to put on her shoes and run downstairs to steal the ritual materials her father had prepared, Su Mo suddenly stopped her.

"Ask her for whatever you need."

After summoning his own Progenitor, Guinevere, Su Mo tossed Rin Tohsaka to her. Then, he called over Saber Artoria, who had already been summoned in advance.

"Master, we're back?" Artoria quickly realized she had returned to the Nasuverse.

"Mm. The Holy Grail ritual requires seven Servants. Although you're no longer a Servant, you can take up one of the spots," Su Mo nodded.

The rules of the Holy Grail War were simple and clear: defeat all the other Servants to win.

"Understood! I will offer victory to you, Master!" Artoria's ahoge stood on end, her expression turning serious. Although with her current strength, sweeping the entire field would be no problem, her attitude was always earnest.

The master and servant had barely exchanged a few words when, under Guinevere's guidance, Rin Tohsaka successfully performed the summoning ritual.

However, the process didn't seem to go very smoothly.

"Wait! Rin, leave the summoning circle after completing the ritual! That's where the Servant stands! Why are you blocking his spot?"

"What? Eh!"

With a THUD, Rin fumbled at the critical moment. She failed to get out in time and tripped.

In the next instant, a blue light flashed, and after a surge of magical energy, a Servant's presence descended.

However...

Looking at Rin Tohsaka standing alone in the summoning circle, Artoria was slightly taken aback, a little confused. She could clearly feel the presence of a Servant, but she couldn't see one.

"M-Master, it seems there's a problem!" Guinevere shrank back, looking at Su Mo with trepidation.

The eyes of a Progenitor could easily discern spiritual bodies. As a former Earth Mother goddess, she had a sufficient understanding of magecraft, so she knew what had happened at once.

"Rin was standing in the center of the summoning circle the whole time and didn't leave. It seems that Servant got angry and possessed Rin's body."

After explaining the situation, she immediately tried to atone for her mistake.

"But it's not a big deal. It's just a simple possession-type thaumaturgy. I can resolve it quickly!"

She couldn't beat Su Mo, she couldn't beat a Heretic God, but there was no way she couldn't beat a mere Servant, right? A ritual to exorcise a spirit was as simple as it got for a Progenitor.

As she spoke, Guinevere was just about to make a move.

Unexpectedly, the twintailed little girl suddenly raised her head and glared at her with dignified, crimson eyes.

"Where did this foreign minor god come from, who doesn't even recognize this goddess and dares to speak so ill! What 'possession'? This is a divine possession by the supreme goddess! A divine possession, you understand? It's this child's honor to be possessed by this goddess!"

"A goddess?"

Hearing this, Guinevere was slightly taken aback. She took a closer look and finally recognized the familiar divinity.

"The aura of Venus and an Earth Mother goddess... are you Inanna, Ishtar, or Aphrodite?"

In the Campione! world, the same divine status had multiple variations. She knew this world didn't have as many different aspects, but she didn't know which one this was.

"I'm surprised you recognize this goddess's divine might. Not bad. This goddess is indeed Ishtar!"

The red-eyed goddess was easily angered, but also easily placated. Seeing that she had been recognized, her expression was extremely smug. She finally wrinkled her nose.

"However, your eyes still seem to be not bright enough, and you are utterly foolish, to mention a useless trash like Aphrodite in the same breath as this goddess!"

As the "Mistress of Heaven," she naturally looked down on such decorative goddesses.

"This one has a terrible personality," Guinevere's cheeks puffed out, displeased with Ishtar's attitude. "You didn't recognize the divine name I represent either!"

Although she was just a Progenitor now, in terms of rank, she was still higher than Ishtar, who had been demoted from a goddess to a Servant. So she wasn't intimidated in the slightest.

"You?"

Hearing her say this, Ishtar glanced at the girl before her.

"She does seem to be a goddess, but since the noble me doesn't recognize her, she must be some minor foreign god. There's no need to remember her name!" She raised her chin slightly, her attitude extremely arrogant.

"You...! "

Seeing her like this, even Guinevere's eyes were blazing with anger. In the Campione! world, the Earth Mother goddess faction was generally very united. They wouldn't have treated even a traitor like her with such a haughty attitude. She knew the Nasuverse might be different, but she hadn't expected this one to be so difficult to deal with.

"If Lord Su Mo weren't here, I would definitely let you taste the might of the White Goddess!"

Seeing the two from the same faction about to start fighting, Su Mo had no intention of stopping them. Instead, he said, "If you want to fight, don't hold back. Just make it quick."

Guinevere, who had signed a contract, could be revived even if she was killed. If Ishtar died, it would just advance the ritual's progress. There was no downside either way.

"If I accidentally hurt Miss Rin..." Guinevere said with concern, but her eyes were eager to try. If not for the fact that this twintailed little girl had an unusual relationship with Su Mo, she would have beaten this rude goddess into her master's slave on the spot.

"Don't worry, I'll separate them," Su Mo shook his head, looking at Rin Tohsaka. To him, a Servant was obviously not as important as Rin. He had actually noticed the accident when it happened but had deliberately not interfered. It was a flaw she had to correct herself.

"Then I'm relieved."

Guinevere relaxed, and just as she was about to challenge Ishtar to a fight, she suddenly noticed that the goddess of Venus had been very quiet since a moment ago.

Taking a closer look, the twintailed little girl was staring at Su Mo with a shocked and confused expression, completely frozen.

What's going on? Is she an idiot?

Just as Guinevere was feeling puzzled...

Ishtar, who was possessing the twintailed little girl, her eyes moist, let out a cry and pounced into Su Mo's arms. Her yukata fell half off, but she didn't care.

Feeling the divine status of the man before her, the proud, arrogant, and extremely bad-tempered goddess of Venus, with tears in her eyes, cried out the name of the supreme god she had never met since birth, but was so incredibly familiar with.

"Daddy! You finally came to see me!"

"?"

Hearing this, Artoria and Guinevere looked at each other, speechless.

Even Rin Tohsaka's consciousness, suppressed by Ishtar, was somewhat dumbfounded.

What's going on? Daddy?

Wait, no! It's fine if you want to get close to Lord Su Mo, but put on some clothes! That's MY body!
