The man moved once more rubbing against me. His lashes fluttering as he inhaled deeply. A rumbling purr vibrated through his chest as he held me tighter, seemingly unaware of how panicked I truly was. His violet eyes peeked open once more, confused when he noticed how tense I was against him.
He sat up—barely. One hand braced behind him while the other gently cupped my cheek, his ears twitching curiously.
His brow furrowed in concern, as if my distress bothered him. His tail gave a slow, uncertain flick behind him. "...Ma viliea?.." (Are you okay?)
He noticed when my eyes looked around at the unfamiliar room, he followed my gaze and then tapped his own chest softly. "Rue'an," he said.
His name
Then he pointed at me tilting his head as if asking for mine. One ear twitched. "Va nam? Ole' re va" (Your name? What is it?)
I blinked.
How...how can a bare chested..naked..wolf man?..look so innocent right now.. - I thought.
Then I opened my mouth to speak my name, but paused. I couldn't remember. My brows knit. Who was I? More Importantly. Where did I come from? It felt like I knew this land wasn't my own, but as to where I came from...I couldn't really remember.
Rue'an's ears perked up the moment my mouth opened—but when I didn't say anything. Only silence filling the space. His ears slowly drooped. He looked at me for a moment. Studying me like he could tell I was confused.
Then, softly, he leaned closer, brushing a bit of hair from my face. His hand was warm, careful. Doing his best not to startle.
"...Na va nam eve?" (You don't know your name?) he murmured, his voice lower this time. He placed a hand gently on her chest, right above my heart, then tapped his own. "Rue'an."
He said it again, more tenderly. "Rue'an."
And then—he stood.
Or, tried to. His tail knocked a pillow to the floor, and as he stepped away from the bed, it became clear he had absolutely no shame about being naked. None. He yawned, stretched with a feline grace despite being clearly canine in origin.
He glanced down at me. "Me ova re clai jeoe" (I found you near the cliffs ) He stepped away from the bed. Heading towards a shelf on the wall. Where a pair of trousers sat. He yanked them on, then grabbed a large tunic, clearly his and brought it over.
"Ca va obor usto mue" ( Can you understand me? ) He asked crouching down in front of the bed. His hand outstretched with the tunic. "Mm..?"
Behind, through the open balcony, the light had grown stronger. Golden rays of sunlight poured into the room, accompanied by the distant chirping of birds and the low hum of a nearby waterfall.
Wherever I was… the land here was surly alive.
