Chapter 1 - Awakening ceremony.

"Done!"

Rover stood in front of the mirror, a bright smile on her face.

She was already dressed in her uniform.

Today was the special awakening ceremony, when people from all over Gu-yong city participate in the academy's opening in order to enter.

Those who have received a tercent mark and those who have been gifted a vision were to appear at the academy for enrollment.

Of course, many people would kill to join the Gu-yong academy.

Well, all but one person.

As she stepped out of the bathroom, Rover's eyes immediately drifted to the closed door at the far end of the hallway.

"Don't tell me he is still sleeping," she sighed, and then slowly moved towards the door.

Once she was there, she knocked calmly.

Bang! Bang!

"Aeren? Please tell me you're awake; the awakening ceremony will be starting soon. I was sure to remind you yesterday."

She didn't get any response.

This caused her to puff out her cheeks a bit, expressing how upset she was.

"That's it, I am coming in!"

With a single motion, Rover turned the doorknob, and the very next second, she was inside his room.

"What the—"

Rover's jaw dropped at the sight before her.

The room was dark and empty, only filled with a single gaming setup and a bed.

Even then, it was still dirty, with used plates and clothes scattered everywhere.

"Dude, why won't you clean your room? I thought you planned on doing this last week."

Her gaze now drifted to the bed, where she could fully see Aeren.

Just like her, he was dressed in his uniform, his black hair scattered over his face while he held on to his smartphone, clearly playing a gacha game.

"Rover, why would you barge into my room like that? You have no respect for boundaries, you know that," Aeren uttered, his fingers constantly tapping his phone screen.

Rover, pissed off, walked over to him and grabbed him by the hand.

"I don't have time for your tantrum today; we need to leave now," she said as she pulled him up from the bed.

"Hold on a bit, I am still play—"

"I don't care!"

Later that very morning, Aeren and Rover had gotten to the academy.

It was quite obvious the function was famous, as many people filled the street and even more were within the school grounds.

Even some of the big names were present as well.

For example, Carlotta, the daughter of a well-known family, who were said to be the owners of the third major company in all of China.

Then there was Cartetheya, the daughter of the principal of this very academy.

In truth, with all the competition present, it was quite obvious how difficult it was going to be to get enrolled, as they were only looking to pick 50 pupils.

As he stood in front of the academy gate, Aeren couldn't help but sigh out loud.

'Why am I even here, for fuck's sake? I have neither a vision nor a tercent mark; it's quite obvious that I'll fail. I really just want to go back and game my time away. Honestly.'

He looked to the right, and there he could see the determined expression on Rover's face.

True, she was very talented.

While no one knew about this, Rover had both a tercent mark and a vision as well.

It was pretty much a guarantee that she would get admitted.

Yet, for some reason, she had chosen to drag Aeren along, he with no talent.

Then again, she had always been weird; she talked a lot when she was with him, but the moment she was in public, it was like she was in a constant state of aura farming.

'Just kill me already.' Aeren turned his attention back to the ground.

Or so he thought.

Standing dangerously close to him was a figure he was familiar with.

"Hey, I see you showed up; I didn't expect you to," uttered the voice.

To which Aeren replied, "If it isn't the cute princess, Phoebe."
