Season 2, Episode 10: "The Inward Spiral"
🌪️ SCENE 1: ENTERING THE MIND
The wind outside the ruined watchtower howled like a screaming child. Blood-colored fog slithered between the trees.
Inside, the group had formed a protective ring around Mira. Her body convulsed violently, but her eyes remained locked open—completely white.
Amira stood over her, breath shallow, skin glowing faintly with Dominion sigils.
Amira (quiet, almost trembling):
"This isn't telepathy. It's entanglement. We're not just going into her mind. We're becoming part of it."
Rael (grim):
"What happens if we die in there?"
Amira:
"Then she wakes up... and we don't."
The silence that followed felt like a breath held by the world itself.
Kara (placing a knife at her side):
"Let's end this."
Amira placed her palms on Mira's temples, and the world fractured.
SCENE 2: MIRA'S MIND — THE BEGINNING
They awoke inside the same forest.
But something was wrong.
The sky pulsed with veins—giant, red, throbbing veins—that connected tree to tree, root to root, pulsing with Mira's
heartbeats.
The forest floor was littered with discarded dolls, torn notebooks, and shattered mirrors. Each mirror reflected Mira's face—but twisted. Disfigured. Smiling when she wasn't.
Rael (staggering forward):
"Where the hell are we?"
Amira (touching a tree, gasping):
"Her trauma. Her childhood. Dominion implanted nightmares here… and they rooted."
They moved slowly.
The trees whispered words no one understood, but Mira's name echoed again and again.
Kara:
"Something's watching us."
A shadow moved between the branches. Not running. Stalking.
SCENE 3: FRAGMENTED MIRA
They entered a clearing—a warped recreation of Dominion's labs.
Three Mira clones stood there, suspended in tubes of red fluid. One wept. One screamed. One laughed endlessly, blood running from her eyes.
Suddenly, the screaming one slammed her head against the glass—crack.
Rael (stepping closer):
"This is what they did to her…"
The laughing clone's voice echoed through the woods, even as her mouth never moved.
Laughing Mira:
"I told you not to look too deep."
The tubes shattered.
All three Miras stepped forward.
Sobbing Mira (pleading):
"Help me, please."
Screaming Mira (snarling):
"You never came. You left me."
Laughing Mira:
"And now we'll all burn together."
Suddenly, they attacked.
SCENE 4: THE FIGHT INSIDE
Kara fought Sobbing Mira, dodging attacks that came like convulsions—wild, desperate, but erratic. Her hands grabbed Kara's throat, cold and trembling.
Kara (shouting):
"You're not her! You're her pain!"
With a roar, Kara slammed her into a mirror, shattering it—and the clone disappeared in a flash of silver light.
Amira channeled her energy to bind Screaming Mira in roots of blue flame. Screaming Mira thrashed violently, each shriek warping the ground.
Amira (fighting for control):
"She... feels everything... every time they tested her, drugged her, watched her scream…"
Screaming Mira:
"AND YOU DID NOTHING."
Amira (softly):
"I didn't know. But I'm here now."
The scream faltered.
And she vanished.
Rael faced Laughing Mira, who walked toward him, arms outstretched like a lover.
Laughing Mira:
"You were supposed to save me. You were supposed to love me enough to pull me out."
Rael's voice cracked.
Rael:
"I did. I do. But I can't love what isn't real."
He stabbed her through the chest.
Black ichor poured out—and the forest shook.
SCENE 5: THE CORE
Everything collapsed.
They fell—down—through sky and earth and time.
They landed in a massive cavern where the ceiling was Mira's skin—pale, cracked, covered in runes.
At the center stood a throne made of bone.
On it, sat the Entity.
A towering female figure, face obscured, skin glistening like wet marble. Her fingers were too long. Her voice was a song that vibrated their teeth.
The Entity:
"You came to take her."
Amira:
"We came to set her free."
The Entity rose.
The Entity:
"She's not yours anymore."
Mira's voice, echoing inside all of them:
"Please... help me..."
Rael stepped forward.
Rael (calmly):
"Then take me. Let her go."
The Entity tilted her head.
The Entity:
"Willing sacrifice... such a rare vintage."
She reached for Rael.
But Amira shouted.
Amira:
"NOW!"
She released a surge of energy—a blinding pulse that carved into the Entity, opening Mira's chest like a locked vault.
Inside: a child version of Mira, curled up and crying.
Kara ran, grabbing her.
Child Mira (whimpering):
"I want to wake up…"
SCENE 6: ESCAPE
They raced upward, toward a light forming above.
The Entity screamed—her voice splitting into a thousand screeches that bled from the walls.
The child screamed too—but this time, not in pain.
In release.
The forest above began to wither.
The sky cracked.
And just as the Entity lunged—
They burst into the waking world.
SCENE 7: AFTERMATH
Mira gasped awake, her body shaking violently. The sigils on her skin faded into scars. Her eyes filled with tears.
Mira (whispering):
"I… I'm me."
Rael embraced her tightly.
Amira collapsed, drained.
Kara looked toward the forest. The trees were dying. The soil was turning black.
Kara:
"We hurt it."
Zeke (arriving, panting):
"Not enough. It's still out there. Still inside others."
The sky rumbled.
And far off in the Dominion stronghold, the Chancellor watched a monitor blink red.
Chancellor:
"Subject Zero has fractured."
"Initiate Phase Three."
