Chapter 13 - Clara Valac Has Entered the Chat

The air pressure from Iruma's snap was so intense, the cardboard boxes scattered violently, tumbling to the far end of the hallway.

"Incredible! Just a snap from Lord Iruma caused that kind of shockwave!"

Asmodeus was practically starry-eyed. Until now, he'd never truly seen Iruma in action. And with just a snap… he unleashed that monstrous force?

Meanwhile, the girl who had been buried in the boxes lay sprawled on the floor, her fluffy green hair tousled in every direction from the blast. Her curled ram horns and elf-like ears gave her an energetic, mischievous look.

Iruma couldn't help but speak up:

"Hey… are you alright?"

The girl blinked blankly for a moment—then leapt to her feet with wild excitement.

"Hahahaha! That was AWESOME! Let's do it again! One more time!"

She skipped over to Iruma like a living pinball, grinning ear to ear and paying zero mind to the overwhelming pressure coming off him.

"I'm Clara! My right foot's Kona, my left foot's Mafu, and my familiar is Fal-Fal!"

"I was just trying to grab a textbook, but I went too hard and slammed right in!"

"Don't you just want to knock over big piles of stuff? Don't you?!"

"Let me do it again! Watch me!"

Iruma crouched a little, listening to her rapid-fire introduction—but he couldn't tell if he actually understood anything she said.

She's... hyper. Way too hyper.

If she were a guy, I'd have already slammed her into the ground by now…

Clara ran off, clearly about to rebuild the boxes and crash into them again.

"Stop."

One word. That's all it took. Her body froze mid-step as if the command was bound by reality itself.

"Huh?! I—I can't move! Why can't I move?!"

"Restore."

The scattered boxes flew back into place in an instant, perfectly restacked and undamaged, as if they had never been touched.

"Now… move."

The moment the spell wore off, Clara stumbled forward, landing flat on her face.

"That was AMAZING! Let's do it again!"

Asmodeus, now at Iruma's side, leaned in and whispered urgently:

"That's Clara Valac. She's... notoriously troublesome. A total wildcard. No one wants to be around her for long. We should leave before she latches onto us."

Clara stood up again, eyes sparkling as she admired the perfectly rebuilt pile of boxes.

"WOW! You stacked them back so fast! That's magic mastery!!"

Suddenly, Professor Dali appeared, alarmed by the noise.

"Iruma, Asmodeus—you two again?"

He recognized them instantly. After all, they weren't exactly low-profile.

"Iruma? Asmodeus?!"

Clara immediately turned toward them, clearly about to bombard them with more questions.

Dali quickly intervened before things got too chaotic.

"Alright, I'll leave the next part to you all!"

With a quick flick of his glowing finger, he used teleportation magic.

In an instant, Clara and Asmodeus were lifted off the ground—floating slightly as if caught in a magical current.

But Iruma… didn't budge.

"Huh?!"

Dali blinked, confused. He had cast the spell on all three of them… so why hadn't it affected Iruma?

There was only one possible explanation: Iruma's magical ranking… was higher than his.

No. That's ridiculous. He's just a student.

Only Iruma knew the truth.

Unless he allowed it, no magic in this world could affect him.

"Sorry about that, Professor," Iruma said with a soft smile. "It's a family magic—'Magic Nullification.' Some spells just don't stick to me."

"Oh… I see," Dali said, though he'd never heard of a bloodline magic like that before. Still, he chalked it up to noble lineage.

Iruma snapped his fingers and casually floated up to join the other two.

"We'll leave it to you, Professor."

"Right… safe travels."

Dali quickly tied the three of them together with enchanted rope and sent them off.

"Don't forget your textbooks!"

Three neatly wrapped books followed them into the teleportation vortex.

Mid-Campus Lawn – A Few Moments Later

The three landed softly in the school's garden—completely isolated from the other students.

Asmodeus and Iruma sat there, a little dazed.

Turns out… being the "nice guy" isn't as easy as it looks.

Clara, meanwhile, sprang to her feet, eyes gleaming as she ran up to them:

"Iruma~! Azzy~! What should we play next?!"

"Azzy?!"

Asmodeus turned, stunned and offended.

No one—not a single demon—was allowed to call him that.No one... except Lord Iruma.

He was about to lose it.

But when he turned to Iruma… the guy was smiling.

Genuinely.

The only others Asmodeus had seen Iruma smile like that for were Sullivan and Ameri.

Why… why is Lord Iruma smiling at HER?!

Before he could voice his rage, Clara somehow pulled an entire toy shop from thin air.

Toys of all shapes and questionable sanity spilled across the grass.

"I brought toys! Look! Thorn balls! Bitey picture books! And Bloodstained Demon-Family Roleplay!"

Asmodeus twitched. Every nerve in his body begged to run away.

"We need to flee, my Lord!"

"She's unhinged!"

But Iruma just sat cross-legged, completely unfazed.

"Isn't she kinda fun?"

"Fun?!"

"Way better than all those other stiff, terrified demons tiptoeing around me."

Ever since Iruma had earned his reputation, most demons were either scared or obsessed with his looks.

Clara, however, had the innocence of a child. No fear. No manipulation.

"Let's play family!" she beamed.

"Wait—anything but that!" Iruma blanched. That was a social death he wasn't prepared for.

"Okay, okay! Then how about Demon Cards, Hellish Marbles, Chaos Doll Battle, or—"

Iruma folded his arms and smirked.

"Sounds good. Let's start."

"Azzy! Sit down!"

"Yes, Lord Iruma!"

Asmodeus sat without hesitation, his pride long swallowed.

Even if it meant suffering through demon make-believe, if Lord Iruma willed it—he would obey.
