Sonny woke in a dream, but he was unaware he was dreaming. He was lying in a bed with warm blankets around and a familiar bedroom, so familiar it made tears come out of his eyes.
But why was he crying? There was something at the corner of his mind trying to make him remember, but he couldn't remember.
He can hear the shouts outside the room due to his demon hearing. And he hugged closer to his mother, who wrapped him in her arms.
He felt safe, but he couldn't stop feeling apprehension. He doesn't know why.
"Soren! How many times must I tell you I don't want conflicts with the humans?"
His uncle tried to stay calm, but the words were filled with arrogance and anger: "Brother, forgive my disrespect, but I can't stand it anymore!"
"Don't you know what the demons call us? Weak. Because we don't stand against the humans and keep letting them kill our kind."
