Unaware of Sophia's jealousy and rage, here in Lila's apartment, the storm continued.
For a beat, neither moved.
Alex's chest heaved, hand still fisted in her hair. She stayed on her knees, pulse thrumming, throat raw, satisfaction humming through her veins.
Then his expression shifted... something dark and taunting sliding into place.
"Is that all you've got?" His voice dropped lower, mocking. "Already tired, sweetheart? I thought you said you could handle me."
Lila's breath caught.
He tilted his head, eyes raking over her with deliberate slowness. "Look at you... on your knees, completely wrecked, barely able to catch your breath. And I'm just getting started."
His thumb traced her lower lip, pressing slightly. "Maybe you bit off more than you could chew. Maybe this was all talk and no follow-through."
The words lit something fierce inside her chest.
