Chapter 43 - From Despair To Infernum

"Serena—"

Jasper stepped into the room—and immediately froze.

The breath ripped from his lungs.

The room was in ruins.

Furniture lay overturned. Glass shards glinted across the floor. Blood smeared the walls, carved into deep scratch marks—as if a wild animal had been trapped inside, tearing itself apart to escape.

And in the center of it all—Serena stood.

But it wasn't her anymore.

The woman before him was a hollowed-out fragment of the person she once was.

Her once-radiant crimson eyes were lifeless, void of reason, bloodshot from hours of crying. Her lips trembled, her bare skin streaked with deep crimson scratches, each one telling the story of her descent into madness.

Jasper's chest tightened painfully.

"…Serena?"

His voice came out careful, almost pleading.

Slowly, her head lifted.

And then—she smiled.

Not a real smile.

A twisted, broken, empty thing stretched across her face.

"Jasper…"

Her voice was hoarse, raw from screaming.

Jasper took a cautious step forward. "What… what are you doing?" His voice cracked. "Why are you—"

Then—his gaze dropped.

And his heart stopped.

"SERENA!!"

He spun his head away, his face burning with horror.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"

Her body—bare, vulnerable, streaked in dried blood and fresh wounds—stood completely unashamed. She didn't flinch. Didn't react. Just… stared.

Her expression was one of pure emptiness.

"You tell me, Jasper," she whispered.

Jasper clenched his fists. "FOR GOD'S SAKE, PUT YOUR CLOTHES BACK ON!!"

But she didn't move.

Instead—she stepped closer.

"Serena, I swear to God—" Jasper's voice shook as his fists curled.

"Tell me."

Jasper hesitated. "…Tell you what?"

Another step closer.

Her breath smelled of iron, salt, and grief.

"Tell me if my body is beautiful."

Jasper's heart stopped cold.

"…What?"

Serena's glass-like eyes locked onto his, void of sanity.

"Blaze didn't enjoy me… did he?" Her voice cracked. "He left because I wasn't enough. Because my body disgusted him."

Jasper's stomach twisted with horror.

"What the hell are you saying?! That's not true—"

"LOOK AT ME, JASPER!!"

She lunged toward him.

Her ice-cold hands clamped onto his wrists, dragging them against her skin.

Jasper ripped himself away, stumbling back in shock.

"I'M NOT DOING THIS!!" he roared, panic lacing his voice. "PUT YOUR DAMN CLOTHES ON!!"

Serena didn't flinch.

Her lips curled into a hollow, humorless laugh.

It was a monster's laugh.

"Then tell me the truth."

"What truth?!" Jasper demanded, his pulse racing.

Her body trembled. "Did my body disgust him? Was my touch not enough?!"

Jasper's throat closed.

"NO!! HE LOVED YOU!!"

But she wasn't listening.

Her nails dug into her own arms.

"IF THAT'S TRUE—THEN PROVE IT!!"

She grabbed his hand again—violently this time—and shoved it against her chest.

"CHECK ME!! TOUCH ME!! TELL ME IF I'M ENOUGH!!"

Jasper yanked his hand away as if he'd been burned.

"SERENA, STOP!!"

Her face twisted in agony.

Her nails clawed at her own flesh, dragging deep crimson lines across her skin.

"IF YOU WON'T CHECK ME—THEN COME TO BED WITH ME!!"

Jasper's blood turned to ice.

"WHAT?!"

Serena staggered backward, her legs giving out as she collapsed onto the bed.

Her arms stretched wide—exposing every scar, every wound, every inch of herself.

"PLEASE, JASPER!!"

Her voice shattered.

"PROVE TO ME I'M BEAUTIFUL!!"

"MAKE LOVE TO ME!! TELL ME I WAS ENOUGH!!"

Jasper stumbled back, heart pounding.

"NO!! STOP THIS!!"

But Serena screamed.

"IF YOU ENJOY ME—IT MEANS HE DID TOO!!"

"IF YOU TOUCH ME—IT MEANS HE DIDN'T HATE ME!!"

"PLEASE!! MAKE ME FEEL WANTED!!"

Her body convulsed on the bed, her nails raking against her skin.

Her voice was unrecognizable now—a wailing, grieving, shattered thing.

"I GAVE HIM EVERYTHING!!" she sobbed. "MY BODY!! MY HEART!! MY SOUL!!"

Jasper couldn't breathe.

He lunged forward, grabbing her wrists, pinning them down.

"SERENA!! YOU'RE DESTROYING YOURSELF!!"

And then—it happened.

SMACK!!!

Jasper's hand collided with her face.

Her head snapped to the side.

Silence.

Serena's wide, tear-drenched eyes stared at the floor.

Her entire body trembled violently—too broken to even react.

Jasper's voice cracked with rage, with heartbreak.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!"

Her lips quivered. Tears spilled endlessly.

"I-I just…"

"YOU THINK BLAZE LEFT YOU BECAUSE OF YOUR BODY?!" Jasper roared. "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND?!"

Serena's chest convulsed. "WHY ELSE DID HE LEAVE ME?! HE DIDN'T EVEN SAY GOODBYE!!"

Jasper snapped.

"HE LOVED YOU, SERENA!! HE WAS OBSESSED WITH YOU!!"

Her voice cracked. "Then why did he leave…?"

Jasper's throat tightened painfully.

"I DON'T KNOW!!"

Serena laughed hollowly.

"You're lying too, aren't you?"

Jasper grabbed her, wrapping his arms around her as she thrashed.

"I SWEAR TO GOD, BLAZE LOVED YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING!!"

Serena clung to him like she was drowning.

Her voice shattered.

"Don't leave me, Jasper… please don't leave me."

Jasper swallowed hard.

"I won't. I swear it."

But as he held her, his mind burned with one horrifying thought.

"Blaze… what the hell did you do to her?"

Serena was still in Jasper's arms, trembling, her mind spiraling in turmoil. Her exposed body pressed against him, but she was too lost in her emotions to notice.

Jasper, however, was extremely aware.

His face burned red like a supernova, his body frozen like a malfunctioning android.

"A really hot, sexy woman grabbed me without any clothes. Achievement complete! Wait, what am I doing? Take her to bed—she's already in desperation! Make her feel better, male instincts engaged!"

"Today is the day I lose my virginity! Take her to bed—wait, no protection! Blaze isn't here—"

"Jasper, touch her body… see how soft she is… and in bed, you can enjoy many rounds in different angles—WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!"

Jasper (mentally, trying to regain control)

"Okay, Jasper… don't look down. Don't think weird thoughts. Just be a gentleman. BE A GENTLEMAN, DAMN IT!!"

Jasper (whispering to himself)

"Control yourself, Jasper. Be cool. Be mature. Be—OH GOD, SHE'S PRESSING CLOSER—STAY STRONG!!"

Jasper (mentally panicking)

"Oh god, I'm going to die. Blaze is going to kill me. Then Serena's going to cry over my corpse, and then Blaze will kill me again."

Jasper (muttering as Serena sobs into his chest)

"Blaze, if you somehow have ghost senses and you're watching this, please don't haunt me. I'm innocent."

But his mind and heart were at war.

Mind, "This is wrong! She's Blaze's girl! Have some respect!!"

Heart, "Bro… a topless beauty is clinging to you, sobbing into your chest. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

Serena sniffled, her voice breaking. "Why did he leave me? He promised me everything… I can't live without him…"

Jasper gulped, his brain screaming for an emergency exit.

"Damn you, Blaze! You got the best girl in the universe, and you STILL ran away?! What kind of idiot—no, NO, focus! RESPECT!!"

He clenched his fists, forcing himself to stare at the wall. "Serena… please, for the love of everything, put on some clothes. Otherwise, I feel like I'm betraying Blaze."

Serena didn't respond immediately, still lost in the storm of her emotions.

Jasper sighed. "You know… love is a beautiful thing. But it can also be the most dangerous thing in the universe."

Serena let out a soft chuckle, a small but genuine smile crossing her lips.

"Okay," she whispered. "Turn around. I'll be ready in a few minutes."

Jasper spun so fast he nearly dislocated his spine. "YES, MA'AM!!"

"GOOD JOB, JASPER. YOU SURVIVED."

For a few minutes, Jasper simply stared at the wall, taking deep breaths.

"Okay, situation under control. She's putting on clothes. No more awkwardness. Everything is—"

BOOOOOOM!!

An explosion of crimson energy erupted behind him, shaking the entire room.

Jasper turned around—and his jaw dropped.

Standing before him was a completely transformed Serena.

Her long crimson ponytail flowed like a flame, shimmering with power.

Her radiant crimson eyes glowed like twin burning stars.

Her lips soft, red, and confident— curved into a smirk.

Her sleeveless red top exposed her toned stomach, her curves sculpted to perfection.

Her red scarf flowed behind her like a warrior's banner.

Her red half-shorts accentuated her strong, feminine form.

Her sword, Infernum, hummed with power, glowing in sync with her.

She didn't just look beautiful.

She looked divine.

She looked like a goddess who had descended just to burn the world with her presence.

Jasper's soul left his body.

His brain:

ERROR 404: THOUGHTS NOT FOUND

Jasper blinked. Once. Twice.

Then, he started malfunctioning.

Jasper (mentally) "BRO. BROOOOOOOOOO. BLAZE, YOU ABSOLUTE DUMBASS. HOW DID YOU LEAVE THIS GODDESS?!!"

His mouth hung open as his soul temporarily left his body.

"Am I dreaming? Is this real? Is she even human anymore?!"

Jasper (trying to stay normal)

"Y-you look… uh… different. Like, just a little. Maybe… 10,000% hotter."

Jasper (whispering to himself)

"Okay, okay. Calm down. She's still Serena. This is fine. Just… don't fall in love."

Serena took a step forward, her hips moving with absolute confidence.

Jasper's mind collapsed.

Brain: "Help her find Blaze."

Heart: "Bro… wife her. Right now."

Jasper mumbled like a man in a trance:

"Heaven… this is heaven. I have seen heaven."

Serena tilted her head. "What did you say?"

Jasper snapped out of his trance, blinking rapidly. "Uh—NOTHING. NOTHING AT ALL!"

He wiped the sweat from his forehead. "So, uh… you're ready to go find Blaze?"

Serena smirked, her confidence fully restored. "Now I'm ready. Let's find him. He can't escape me."

Jasper internally screamed.

"BRO, WHY DID YOU EVEN LEAVE HER?! EVEN HER OBSESSION IS HOT!!"

He shook his head violently. "Okay, okay. Let's go. But I just need to say something first."

Serena crossed her arms. "What?"

Jasper exhaled deeply, shaking his head. Then, he said:

"Blaze… you are the dumbest, most brainless, most idiotic fool in the entire universe."

Serena raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

Jasper pointed at her.

"Because LOOK AT YOU!! How the hell did he leave a literal goddess?! A heaven-princess-like beauty?! A sexy, curvy figure with perfect… proportions!! And he just ran off like a moron?! HOW?!!"

Serena rolled her eyes. "Enough. Don't try to flirt with me."

Jasper clutched his heart. "Damn it. She saw through me."

Serena smirked. "Get ready quickly."

Jasper held his head in regret.

"Oh god… why did I stop her earlier? Why didn't I just say 'yes' when she asked me to prove she was beautiful? I could've had her in bed earlier… My biggest regret in life…"

His soul shattered as he dramatically yelled toward the ceiling:

"BLAZE, YOU STUPID IDIOT!! BEFORE YOU LEFT, YOU ENJOYED HER FOR 12 ROUNDS!! YOU HAD EVERYTHING!! AND YOU STILL LEFT!! YOU BRAINLESS MORON!!"

Serena's fist suddenly buried itself in his stomach.

BOOOOOM!!

Jasper was sent flying across the room, crashing into the wall.

Serena crossed her arms, grinning. "Bad joke…"

Jasper, half-buried in the wall, still laughing.

"Worth it."
