"If you're uncomfortable, you can go out first."
Ye Liang wiped the cold sweat from his brow and continued to channel his energy.
"Alright then. I'll be waiting outside. If you need anything, just call my name." Temari gave a nod and stepped out of the room.
Ye Liang's eyes shifted slightly. Seeing that Temari had truly left, he intensified his efforts.
A torrent of Death Qi surged into Kaguya's body!
Time dragged on, and finally, after what felt like endless waiting and anxiety, the Death Qi was fully replenished. He exhaled in relief.
Kaguya Hime twitched her fingers while lying on the bed. She barely opened her eyes and raised a hand to strike Ye Liang, but stopped mid-air.
Tears streamed from the corners of her eyes.
"You perverted corpse! Where the hell have you been!" She threw her arms around Ye Liang and sobbed uncontrollably.
Ye Liang trembled slightly, feeling a wave of helplessness.
Several hundred years… she had waited for him all this time. What a bitter fate.
"It's alright now. Everything will be fine."
Ye Liang patted Kaguya Hime's back and pulled her close into a tight embrace.
The guards outside exchanged confused glances.
"Lord Temari, does it sound like someone is crying inside?"
"Be quiet!" Temari snapped coldly.
Her cultivation was stronger, so naturally, she could hear the sounds from within—more clearly than the guards.
A quiet sadness welled up inside her.
"So Lord Ye Liang already has his destined beloved..."
Dusk settled in.
With Ye Liang's comforting words, Kaguya Hime drifted into a weak, exhausted sleep.
Ye Liang used Chakra to suppress the Death Qi within her and gave some advice on recovery. After finishing, he left the room.
"Lord Ye Liang seems quite fond of Lady Kaguya."
Temari stood waiting outside.
Seeing Ye Liang come out, she greeted him.
"Yes, she waited for me... for a very long time. I didn't want to disappoint her," Ye Liang replied.
"Hmm, Lady Kaguya is truly enviable." Temari paused, then pointed toward a distant market street. "It's almost evening now. Lord Ye Liang, would you like to grab a late meal together?"
"A late meal?" Ye Liang thought for a moment and nodded.
During the past few days searching for Kaguya, he'd barely slept. A short break was exactly what he needed now.
They immediately set off.
Ten minutes later…
A shadowy figure slipped silently into Temari's room.
"Finally gone! That crazy woman caused us heavy casualties. We cannot let her live!" He crept into the room, drawing his blade.
"Boom!"
A loud explosion rang out.
Suddenly, a violent repulsive force flared from Kaguya's bed. Before the intruder could react, the force hurled him backward, slamming him into the wall.
He died on impact!
Far away, Ye Liang suddenly paused mid-step.
"What's wrong, Lord Ye Liang?" Temari asked curiously.
"Nothing. Just thinking about something."
Ye Liang shook his head and kept walking forward as if nothing had happened.
"Thinking about what?"
"Heh. Just musing about how foolish people can be!"
They walked into the busy downtown street.
Sand Village had its troubles, but ordinary people still carried on with their simple lives.
What, your Jonin got into trouble? What does that have to do with me, a civilian?
Ye Liang followed Temari to a ramen shop.
This was an authentic Japanese restaurant serving very refined ramen. Since Temari was treating Ye Liang to dinner, naturally she wouldn't choose anything less.
They sat down and started eating their noodles.
Except for being a bit inferior to Ichiraku's ramen, the flavor was pretty good.
After eating for a while, Temari suddenly asked, "Master Ye Liang, you're so powerful. Have you ever considered taking disciples?"
"Taking disciples?"
Upon hearing Temari's words, Ye Liang paused for a moment.
In fact, he already had quite a few disciples in his life. From Obito's class in the first dimension to Naruto's class in the second dimension, he had taught about seven or eight students altogether.
"What? You want to become my disciple?" Ye Liang asked.
"No!"
Temari's face immediately turned red. "It's about my younger brother. He's about to become Kazekage, but his strength is inadequate, and he always faces ostracism from the villagers."
"You're talking about Gaara?"
"Mm."
Temari nodded slightly.
Actually, Gaara was pretty powerful.
At this point, he had already surpassed everyone his age. Even Guy and others couldn't match Gaara's strength. However, as Kazekage, his power did seem somewhat lacking.
"Why would you think that?" Ye Liang questioned curiously.
He knew about Gaara's strength.
Was Temari really considering Gaara as weak?
"A while ago, he went to Konoha and was defeated by several Genin..."
Temari's expression looked somewhat strange. "Later, I heard that their Genin teacher was named Ye Liang."
"Eh..."
Ye Liang felt a bit embarrassed. Initially, he thought Gaara was strong because he indeed was powerful in the original storyline. However, the three little rookies from Konoha had improved significantly under his guidance.
They could even hold off a Kage-level master for a while.
This was something he hadn't anticipated.
"Well then. Let him come tomorrow. Anyway, I will be staying around here for the next few days."
"Okay, Master Ye Liang." Temari immediately became delighted.
They continued eating for a while.
Perhaps because the taste was indeed worse than Ichiraku's, Ye Liang stopped after finishing his third bowl.
"Full already, Master Ye Liang?"
Temari quickly rose, but Ye Liang gently pressed her hand down.
"Master Ye Liang?"
"Stay still! Someone is targeting us!" Ye Liang calmly put down his noodle bowl and let go of Temari with his other hand.
When she heard Ye Liang's words, Temari sat up straight immediately.
One from the east!
Two from the west!
Ye Liang closed his eyes, spreading his consciousness around.
"There are the most in the south; looks like a dozen or so. They must be spies." Suddenly opening his eyes, Ye Liang picked up a pair of chopsticks from the table and flicked them casually.
Immediately, cries of pain came from the east and west directions.
"Master Ye Liang?"
Temari looked at Ye Liang's actions in confusion.
The chopsticks were gone.
Had he just performed some magic trick?
"Owner, we'll stop here today." Ye Liang placed a few banknotes under the noodle bowl and quickly stood up.
"Master Ye Liang, I was supposed to treat you!"
Temari hadn't even gotten up yet when Ye Liang walked out of the house.
There were way too many ninjas in the south!
Ye Liang was cautious about accidentally harming civilians, so he simply walked out of the residential street.
One thing Sunagakure had no shortage of was definitely sand. He arrived at a barren stretch of sand. This place seemed to have once been an abandoned building, and around here, besides rats, there was absolutely nothing.
"If you're going to follow me, you might as well show yourself," Ye Liang said calmly.
He slid one hand into his pants pocket, clearly not taking these hidden troops seriously.
"Interesting. I heard you helped Temari fight off my men, so I decided to come in person and see what you're made of."
Over a dozen rogue ninjas emerged from the ruined building.
Leading them was a middle-aged ninja with his face covered. He adjusted his grip on the large sword in his hand, seemingly a master swordsman.
"If you're going to attack, just do it. I've got to get back to bed."
Ye Liang extended one hand and gave the middle-aged ninja the middle finger.
