Chapter 1 - THE 4 ELITES

*In the kingdom of Velmora, there were many beautiful places. People laughed, they joked, children played freely in the streets.*

Some woke up early to walk to the temple. They believed in angels and that an angel still existed somewhere out there. Their temples held elegant statues of winged figures, beautiful and a sign of hope for many.

The people of Velmora followed one faith: Seraphyne. A religion devoted to an now extinct race called angels. Many saw them as the divine protectors and helpers. Many sold books written about them. Many gave offerings like candles, prayers, coins and songs. Today, the temple steps were crowded with more than just locals. A small group of travelers from a distant kingdom stood in awe before the massive angelic statue in the temple's heart. One of them, a young girl, reached out to touch the stone feathered wing, whispering a prayer. A man placed a single silver coin on the altar, murmuring a blessing for his sick son. Another woman lit a candle, her eyes wet.

One child pointed up at the statue and asked her mother,

"Mama, do angels still fly?"

The mother hesitated, then smiled.

"If they do, they hide very well."

And from this kingdom came four elite warriors. Each chosen specifically for this mission because of their traits.

1. Kane Draeven:

A necromancer of calm fury. He was the distant cousin of Jay, and so he knew nothing about him. Still, he wondered… what would meeting him be like?

2. Rose Vaeloria:

A Fire Mage who wields a magical staff to cast spells. She also has healing magic but it's limited to herself. She has a cousin called Beth who she used to spend all her time with before Beth went on a mission.

3. Aria Mournvale:

She was a cousin of a very powerful and known bounty hunter, Liana. Liana was part of a massively feared group called The Dreaded Infernal. Many respected the group, while many feared it. Liana hated her for being weak even though Aria knew how to use many weapons, had won many tournaments with many different types of weapons.

4. Leon Vaeric:

Nobody knew where he came from. No records. No homeland. No past. Just a name… and raw power Some said he fell from the sky. Others said he climbed out of the grave. But none ever said it to his face.
