Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

"What am I supposed to do, God?"Yuuji shouted into the emptiness around him, but no one answered his desperate question.

"Soon… you will know soon."

After that single line, the mysterious voice faded away, leaving Yuuji with no answers.

"My mission… my goal… who exactly am I supposed to be?"

The response left him completely confused. After five long years of waiting, he had begun to forget his real name, even settling into life as "Shiro Wimiya." But God's words had reminded him—he wasn't a person of this world. So what should he do now?

Lost in thought about his future, Yuuji didn't notice the white figure standing silently a short distance behind him, observing him.

"I'm back," Yuuji muttered as he returned to Rin's home, immediately heading to the kitchen to prepare dinner. Normally, around this time, Rin would be locked away in the magic workshop her family had left her, practicing her ancestral magic and gemstone arts. Yuuji himself didn't train much anymore—his unique experience and physique meant that even with minimal practice, he could wield weapons from another world powerful enough to defeat Rin in combat.

To Rin, Yuuji wasn't just a housekeeper but also her sparring partner.

As Yuuji was finishing dinner, Rin entered the kitchen earlier than usual. Her tone was serious:"Yuuji, the Holy Grail War is approaching. Did you receive the Command Seals?"

Rin felt confident that with Yuuji's help, this Holy Grail War would be far easier than expected. As for the final winner, she believed Yuuji would hand the Grail over to her. After all, Yuuji himself had no desire for it.

"Yeah. I just got them," Yuuji replied. He raised his right hand, revealing a strange, glowing mark that Rin hadn't noticed earlier that morning.

"Then… what do you intend to do? Are you planning to participate? Would you… become my enemy?" Rin's voice trembled slightly. After all this time together, the idea of facing him as an enemy felt impossible.

"No. I promised you, Rin—I'll protect you."Although his face was as expressionless as ever, there was a warmth in Yuuji's tone that showed he meant every word.

"Really…" Rin's cheeks flushed. "Come to the workshop at two o'clock tonight. Let's perform the summoning together."Without waiting for his reply, she turned and walked to the dining table.

———Time Skip———Midnight

Yuuji and Rin stood inside the magic workshop of Rin's home, facing two magic circles drawn carefully on the floor. They began chanting the summoning incantations.

"... (What they chanted is omitted here—feel free to imagine it yourself)."

The moment their voices fell silent, two loud crashes echoed from outside the workshop. Without thinking, Rin and Yuuji rushed to the source of the noise.

In the hall stood two figures:

One, a young samurai clad in a crimson cloak, holding a gleaming katana. His short red hair shimmered under the dim light.

The other, a petite girl—clearly a loli—wearing a black cloak. Her silver-white hair barely brushed her shoulders, and she wielded two small, deadly knives as she faced the red-haired swordsman.

"Stand down… my Servant," Rin ordered, recognizing the crimson heroic spirit linked to her. She was momentarily stunned. His face—his entire appearance—was almost identical to Yuuji's. It was as if he'd been carved from the same mold.

"Could my feelings… have influenced the heroic spirit I summoned?" Rin wondered anxiously, glancing between Yuuji and the new Servant.

On the other side, Yuuji stared at the small figure he had summoned. A strange, powerful emotion washed over him—similar to what he had felt when he first met Rin. It was as though this girl was the treasure of his life.

"Is this… the emotion God spoke of?" The realization made his heart tremble. The powerful feeling God had once mentioned was surging to the surface again.

"This is too weird… lolicon tendencies or something," Yuuji muttered under his breath, irritated. But even as he said it, he knew that if this girl asked him for something, he would fulfill her wishes without hesitation.

"So… who's the real Master here?" Yuuji grumbled, half to himself, half to the heavens.

"Are you my mama?" the silver-haired girl suddenly asked. Without warning, she threw herself into Yuuji's arms, looking up at him with innocent eyes.

Yuuji's entire body tensed. He forced his voice to stay calm."Yes… I'm your mama. What's your name?" He gently patted her head, treating her with the same tender care one would give a cherished younger sibling.

"My name is Jack. Jack the Ripper, Mama," she answered, clinging to him tightly.

Rin, watching their interaction, couldn't help but feel a wave of irritation. She turned back to her own heroic spirit and asked,"Servant, tell me your true name. Don't worry—this guy is an ally."

The red-haired man, however, was focused on Yuuji holding Jack. His expression hardened as though the world around him no longer made sense.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," he said, "but fine. I am Saber-class, and my name is Muramasa. As you can see, I share your companion's attributes and appearance… but I am not him."

As he spoke, Muramasa was already deep in thought, considering his mission. As a Servant chosen directly by the forces of "inhibition," he had a duty to fulfill. "So… what has changed in this era?" he muttered to himself.

After the introductions, Rin and Yuuji gathered with their Servants in the living room to plan their next move.

"To confuse the enemy, Jack and I will appear as the Masters. You and Saber will pose as Servants in the field. Yuuji, is that okay?" Rin said, though her voice was tight as she looked at Jack still nestled in Yuuji's arms.

"I don't mind," Yuuji replied casually. Truthfully, he was far more focused on the loli in his arms than on any Holy Grail War. The war itself felt unimportant compared to protecting her.

"Good. Then get some rest. Starting tomorrow, we'll take leave from school and prepare until the weekend," Rin concluded, leaving the room while muttering under her breath,"Damn… lolicon…"

"Hey, come with me," Saber (Muramasa) called to Yuuji. "There's something I need to confirm with you."

Yuuji nodded, telling Jack to play nearby for a while.

"What do you want to talk about?" Yuuji asked.

"Your current life. Can you tell me about it?" Muramasa's eyes studied him intently. "Though I am a Servant sent by inhibition, I want to understand you—the Yuuji of this world. How are you different from… the one I know?"

Then he asked the question that mattered most to him."Do you still wish to be a hero of justice?"

"Of course," Yuuji answered without hesitation. "Because that's the dream my father left for me."
