Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Word Spirit

"My Mangekyo ability is called… Jumang."

Obito's eyes narrowed.Jumang? It was a name he had never heard before—a foreign, alien term that unsettled him.

Gen didn't react to Obito's confusion. As if anticipating it, he continued calmly.

"I named it myself. You could think of it as the power of a 'Demonic Wish'... or perhaps a crude form of Word Spirit."

He paused briefly, letting the weight of the explanation settle in.

"Jumang has a particular effect—it amplifies the concepts behind other Mangekyo Sharingan. You could call it 'conceptual reinforcement.'"

Obito frowned. "Conceptual reinforcement?"

"To make it simple… Take Shisui, for example. His deepest wish was for the clan and the village to coexist peacefully."

Gen's expression remained unreadable.

"My left eye can reinforce that very wish—strengthen it. Not just his ideal, but even the power of his Mangekyo would grow in proportion."

In other words, a Mangekyo that empowers other Mangekyo.A strange ability… yet terrifying in its implications.

"It resonates with the user's emotional drive," Gen added, "and amplifies it through shared intent."

"But that's just the left eye," he continued, his voice growing quieter. "Now… let me tell you about the right."

He tapped his finger gently on the wooden table beside him, the soft sound sharp against the silence.

"When a Mangekyo Sharingan user I've strengthened dies… their concept—their deepest wish—doesn't vanish."

Obito's eyes sharpened. "What do you mean?"

Gen's voice remained placid. "It's absorbed into my right eye. Permanently."

"For instance, if Shisui's wish is peaceful coexistence, then upon his death, that concept becomes part of me. From that moment forward, as long as I believe my actions align with that ideal, the world around me will begin to bend toward my interpretation of it."

Obito's mouth opened, then closed. The implication was staggering.

"A reality that adapts to your personal belief?" he said slowly. "That's… absurd."

Gen gave him a thin smile.

"You're catching on. My right eye grants me dominion over a concept—but only after death consecrates it."

"No ability comes without conditions," Obito muttered. "You're hiding something. The activation can't be that clean."

But Gen didn't address the suspicion. Instead, he shifted subjects effortlessly.

"Tell me, Obito… Isn't your true wish to create a world where only Rin exists?"

The name hit like a thunderclap. Obito's entire body stiffened.

After a pause, he nodded grimly.

The moment he did, Gen's voice turned deadly soft.

"Contract complete."

A strange, ominous ripple of chakra burst from Gen's left eye, brushing against the fabric of reality.

"What did you just do?" Obito snapped, alarmed.

"Nothing dangerous," Gen replied, sounding almost bored. "I merely enhanced your ocular power. I wanted you to feel it directly—to understand Jumang."

But despite Gen's calmness, Obito's instincts screamed at him.

Trap.

He'd walked into one. He just didn't yet know how deep it went.

Gen turned his gaze to the sky, where the blood moon hung low.

"By strengthening your desire for that Rin-only world… I've also prepared its absorption. When you die, your dream becomes mine."

His voice dropped, chilling.

"I'll own the right to interpret what that world looks like. And I'll shape it however I see fit."

Obito clenched his fists. "A twisted ability…"

Bathed in crimson light, Gen raised his head. His eyes, dull moments ago, now pulsed with blood-red radiance.

"And now, it's time to fulfill Shisui's wish."

He paused—savoring the silence—then spoke as if delivering a prophecy.

"The key to the Ninja World's 'nuclear peace'… lies in tonight's clan annihilation."

Obito froze.

Nuclear peace? What happened to peaceful coexistence?

Before Obito could speak, a terrible energy exploded from Gen's body. His Mangekyo Sharingan ignited, ocular power surging like a collapsing star.

In seconds, Gen's body began to wither. His skin dried and cracked, as if life was fleeing his corpse all at once.

And far away—in a hidden root facility—Danzo Shimura screamed.

From his sockets, blood gushed freely. The lone Mangekyo Sharingan he'd taken from Shisui now erupted in uncontrollable power. Both of his eyes bursted out with unbearable pain simultaneously, taking his vision and his mind with them.

He collapsed, thrashing like a dying animal.

Back in the shadows, Obito's breath caught.

An illusion unfolded before his eyes—not cast by any normal genjutsu, but born of concept and belief.

Above the world, the sky churned with blood-red clouds. Within them, a void opened… and from it descended something terrible.

A planet. No, a star of death.

A world-ending mass streaked toward the shinobi world like divine retribution.

It tore through space, its speed transcending sound, light, and logic.

This was Jumang's nuclear peace.

To erase hatred equally.

To annihilate everything.

True and Eternal Peace.

Obito stared in horror as the people of the Five Great Nations—Konoha, Kumo, Iwa, Suna, and Kiri—lifted their eyes to the sky. Fear gripped them, cries of disbelief turning to screams of despair.

Ninjas across the nations desperately launched jutsu, defensive barriers, anything…

All of it was useless.

The star slammed into the earth with a roar that shattered the heavens.

Shockwaves overturned mountains. Entire continents cracked apart. Oceans boiled. Villages became dust.

Konoha was the first to go—vaporized in an instant along with everything to follow it in annihilation.

Obito howled in horror.

"NO! YOU INSANE BASTARD!"

But Gen heard nothing.

He was already spent—an empty husk crumbling beneath the blood moon. His lifeforce extinguished, his last breath taken…

Yet his eyes still gazed toward the star above, filled not with fear, but satisfaction.

And elsewhere, within the dying Uchiha Clan compound…

Fugaku Uchiha slowly closed his eyes.

He stood before his son, Itachi—not as an enemy, but as a father. He made no move to resist, even though his Mangekyo flared within him.

In that final moment, he remembered a conversation with Gen.

"Clan Head… what is your wish?"

Fugaku's answer had been simple, heartfelt:

"The revival of the Uchiha Clan…"
