🪞Chapter 1: Mirror Match
They say dolls don't move.
They say mirrors can't hurt you.
They say children's games are just pretend.
But they've never met her.
⸻
Somewhere—beyond the real world—is a place no one returns from.
A place stitched together with porcelain smiles, cracked lullabies, and blood.
Where forgotten children are dragged into games they never agreed to play.
And once you're chosen?
You belong to Dolly.
⸻
The first thing Ivy remembered… was the silence.
No birds. No wind. Just cold.
And the soft, eerie hum of a music box playing off-key in the distance.
Her eyes snapped open.
The room around her was enormous—a twisted nursery with broken rocking horses, hanging puppets, and mirrors. Hundreds of them. Every wall reflected her face.
She wasn't alone.
Five other people were there, blinking awake on the dusty floor. All different ages. Confused. Scared. None of them remembered how they got there.
Then she appeared.

Wooden heels tapped across the marble floor. A girl with porcelain skin and button eyes walked into the room, her lace dress dragging behind her like a funeral veil. Her golden hair floated unnaturally, and her mouth curled into a smile that felt wrong.
Dolly.
"Welcome, little players~" she sang.
"You're all so lucky! You've been chosen to play my favorite game: Mirror Match!"
The others glanced at each other in fear.
"Your names? Forgotten."
"Your past? Useless."
"All that matters now is that you obey."
"Let's go over the rules~!"
She twirled once, arms stretched.
Dolly:
"Whatever your mirror self does…
You have to copy it."
"If you don't—don't worry!
You won't die…"
"You'll become mine."
"My doll. Forever."
The air grew colder.
⸻
Ivy (scared, voice trembling):
"A-Are we allowed to ask questions…?"
Dolly (grinning):
"Yes. You all have one minute to ask me anything~!"
Ivy:
"What happens if we… forfeit?"
Dolly's eyes turned completely black. A deep red glow leaked from her buttons. When she spoke, her voice was no longer sweet—it was low, guttural, like something ancient and angry.
Dolly:
"You'll die.
And I'll trap your soul in a doll."
"Maybe I'll even keep your voice…
To sing me lullabies."
Ivy stumbled back, nearly fainting.
Player 1:
"You never told us our names… You made us forget our names!"
Dolly (giggling):
"Names are boring.
You don't need them where you're going~"
⸻
Suddenly, the mirrors began to ripple like water.
One by one, reflections stepped forward—identical copies of the players. Their eyes were empty. Their movements unnatural. They were the rules.
And they were about to begin.
⸻
Ivy's mirror self raised her hand. Grabbed her finger. And—
CRACK.
Her finger broke sideways, bones snapping.
Ivy screamed.
No no no no—
But her own body moved on its own—like strings were tied to her joints.
With shaking hands, she broke her own finger.
SNAP.
A scream ripped from her throat. Tears poured down her face as blood dripped to the floor.
Everyone stared in horror.
⸻
Then… Player 5.
She was the youngest. Only ten.
She hugged a little teddy bear close to her chest. Her only comfort.
Her mirror self stepped forward, slowly reached out—
RIP.
The teddy was torn in half.
Player 5 (crying):
"No… please no… my mama gave this to me…"
But she had to obey.
Still sobbing, she ripped her own teddy in half.
Dolly (softly):
"Don't worry, little one~ She would have been proud of you…"
Player 5 collapsed, hugging the shredded fabric.
⸻
Next was Player 4.
A quiet boy. Nineteen. His face full of old scars and empty eyes.
His mirror self picked up a rusty knife… and cut a deep line across his palm.
Blood spilled down his wrist.
The real boy didn't flinch.
He mirrored the action perfectly.
Luke:
"It's nothing.
I've done worse."
Ivy's heart dropped. His voice… his eyes…
Luke.
Her brother.
He'd been here all along.
⸻
That night, everyone slept in silence.
Or at least… pretended to.
Ivy sat up, eyes wide. Her broken finger was "fixed"—but she could still feel the pain.
She walked over to Luke.
Ivy (whispering):
"Wake up."
He opened his eyes.
Ivy:
"I remember you. You're Luke…
You're my brother."
He blinked slowly.
Luke:
"…I didn't think you'd remember."
Her eyes filled with tears.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because in here…
Remembering someone you love gets them killed."
⸻
One by one, the others woke up.
Ivy (urgent):
"We can't stay here."
"Dolly isn't playing with us—she's using us.
We're just toys to her."
Player 2 (terrified):
"But how do we escape? There are no doors, no windows—every hallway loops!"
Luke:
"Then we make a way."
Ivy:
"If we stay, we'll forget who we are.
We'll forget everything.
We'll become her dolls."
⸻
CREEAAAK.
The nursery door opened.
Music box notes played softly.
🎵 "Dolly loves her little toys…"
"They never run. They never lie…" 🎵
Her silhouette stood in the doorway.
Eyes glowing.
Dress trailing.
Dolly (sing-song):
"Now, now…
Who's breaking the rules~?"
