Chapter 7 - SS0 EP 7

Days Later...

After that chaotic day, several days passed. Ryujin had finally returned home... completely wrapped in bandages.

Not by choice—but because Aizawa had tied him up himself.

Aizawa: "Why did you skip class?"

Ryujin: "Who skipped? I didn't skip class. I just... went on a little trip."

The moment he finished speaking, he was sentenced to house arrest for one month—no going out during holidays. Just stay home.

Since then, Ryujin had been talking to Ashido almost every single day.

Not that he wanted to call her or anything...

But she kept calling him.

Every day.

At this point, he was starting to wonder—Does she even have any other friends?

Strangely enough, her Social Link level had reached 4.

That really caught him off guard. Just chatting on the phone every day could push the bond to level 4?

Level 4 Bonus: Breakdance – +10% dancing performance boost

He sighed.

Ryujin: "Am I seriously gonna have to dance in front of villains someday?"

He went to check the in-game Shop and glanced at the Quest tab again.

But this time... something felt off.

[Quest: Help a Hero in the Future]

That's what caught his eye.

He couldn't help but wonder—which hero?

He didn't have an answer.

But when he went back to school... all he hoped for was to not get nagged by Momo again.

Unfortunately for him...

She was getting closer and closer every day.

Not in the romantic way.

In the "you're turning into my mom" kind of way.

Two Weeks Later...

School ended earlier than usual today—at exactly noon.

The reason? The school was conducting a public utilities inspection.

Of course, he knew the real reason.

He was the one who had planted dead rats near the swimming pool and cafeteria when no one was looking.

If the system had a "villainy meter," he was pretty sure he'd just gained +10 Evil Points.

He chuckled to himself as he walked alongside Momo, accompanying her home.

She turned to glance at him and, once again, pinched his cheek.

Momo: "You're scheming something, aren't you? Why else would you be laughing like that?"

She eyed him suspiciously as she gave his cheek another little pinch.

He responded with a smug smirk and an annoyingly cheeky tone:

Ryujin: "Oh, nothing really... Just thinking about visiting some other girls, that's all."

His head swayed side to side with exaggerated sass, clearly asking for a smack.

And sure enough, she whacked him with a light slap and puffed out her cheeks in frustration.

Momo: "What did you just say?!"

Her tone was sharp, clearly not pleased. Then she mumbled something under her breath:

Momo: "Fine then. Go wherever you want. I don't care anymore."

She crossed her arms and stormed ahead, walking quickly and without another word.

Yeah, she was totally mad.

And Ryujin? He couldn't help but chuckle quietly.

Guess it was time to apologize. Again.

Ryujin's Perspective

3:30 PM – Another High School Somewhere

I arrived at the location the system had pinned on my map.

It was the rooftop of a tall building. I stayed hidden in a shadowed corner, just out of sight.

After a few minutes, I saw a boy with green hair and a faint scar on his cheek.

His posture was completely defeated. Shoulders slumped.

Yeah... That was definitely Midoriya.

Rooftop – 15:30

Izuku Midoriya flinched at the sudden voice behind him.

Ryujin: "Yo."

Midoriya: "H-huh?!"

He turned around sharply, startled to find someone else on the rooftop. His body tensed up. Was this guy dangerous? The calm malice in his voice made it hard to tell.

Ryujin (flatly): "Thinking of jumping?"

Ryujin: "Go ahead. Jump. Do it. Die, you coward."

The words struck harder than a punch. Midoriya's eyes widened. For a moment, he wanted to jump. That voice—it scraped at the hopelessness already inside him.

Ryujin: "If you jump, you're just a coward running away from reality."

Midoriya trembled. His lips quivered. Tears started welling up.

Ryujin: "What made you want to jump, huh, little green bean?"

That was all it took.

Midoriya broke.

He started talking. Rambling, almost. About being Quirkless. About being bullied. About feeling invisible. Powerless. Alone. Ryujin didn't say anything. He just listened. He let the boy pour it all out.

Then, after a long pause—

Ryujin: "And what happens if you jump?"

Ryujin: "First—your mom cries for the rest of her life."

Ryujin: "Second—those little bastards at school? They'll throw a party."

Ryujin: "Third—no one will miss you. Except your mom."

Ryujin took a step forward. Midoriya backed away instinctively. Too slow. Ryujin grabbed him by the collar, yanking him up close.

Ryujin (growling): "Listen, mutt. You think fairy tales about heroes matter? You think you're going to be one? You're nothing."

Midoriya trembled, tears pouring out. He could barely stand. But Ryujin didn't let up.

Ryujin: "If you stay like this, you'll always be nothing! Want to escape? Then jump!"

Ryujin: "Wanna let them keep stepping on you? Jump!"

He tightened his grip.

Ryujin: "Or punch me in the face and show me you've got something inside you!"

Midoriya's hands gripped Ryujin's wrist. He hesitated—

Then his eyes sharpened. He balled his fist—

BAM!

One punch. Right on Ryujin's jaw.

Ryujin stumbled back—and laughed.

Ryujin: "Nice. Now it's my turn."

He kicked Midoriya to the ground. The boy groaned.

Ryujin: "Get up! You going to show this world what you're made of—or curl up and die!?"

Ryujin: "This world isn't kind. Stand up! Fight me!"

Ryujin: "Let it out. Let it out with your fists!!"

Midoriya tried to block, but Ryujin kept pressing—softly, not seriously hurting him, just pushing him. Forcing him to fight back. Ten minutes passed. They both were bruised, panting.

Ryujin, though—he was smiling.

Ryujin: "How do you feel now?"

Midoriya: "I-I don't know... but... it feels a bit better..."

Midoriya's face was swollen, but behind it—something shone. A spark.

Ryujin: "So what if you don't have a Quirk? Screw that."

Ryujin: "Don't let them decide who you are. You decide that."

Ryujin: "This world ain't fair, but it is equal in one thing—if you work hard enough, anything's possible."

Ryujin: "Now look at yourself. Do you want to be a Hero, or are you just some fanboy with a notebook?"

Ryujin: "Whatever you choose—own it. If not, keep dreaming. Or just jump."

Midoriya looked down. He had no argument. It was the truth. All of it.

Ryujin: "But if you don't give up—then I believe you'll be someone great."

Ryujin stood up, extending a hand.

Ryujin: "Name's Ryujin Kazuma. From now on, I'll be the guy who punches you every time you feel like quitting."

Midoriya stared. Then tears flowed again—but this time, they were different. He took Ryujin's hand.

Midoriya: "I-I'm Izuku Midoriya... and I'm going to be a Hero!"

Ryujin: "Didn't catch that. Say it louder."

Midoriya: "I'm Izuku Midoriya! I will become a Hero!!!"

And that...

was the day they met.

A chance encounter. A twist of fate.

And the beginning of a story that would one day end...

with them standing on opposite sides of a battlefield.

.

.

After helping Midoriya to stand back up, the two of us walked together with our arms around each other's shoulders. Even though we had just punched each other, we were now talking like normal.

After walking for a while, a crowd had gathered. A villain was about to face off against a group of pro heroes.

But it looked like the situation was getting worse.

For some reason, Midoriya suddenly ran toward a child who was being held hostage.

Yes—he didn't try to stop Midoriya. He chose to stand back and watch.

Because there was another man, hiding at the edge of an alley, looking incredibly anxious.

The symbol of peace in Japan... was standing right there.

He knew exactly who that man was.

Ryujin walked up to him and whispered:

Ryujin:

"Not helping? Fine. But those kids are going to die for sure."

"Afraid of ruining your image? Disgusting."

"Standing here like this... you want to let those two kids die right in front of you?"

"That's pathetic, you know... All Might."

All Might lowered his head, the boy's words cutting deep. As much as they stung, they were true. But he also couldn't help but wonder—how did this boy know who he really was?

But now wasn't the time to ask.

All Might:

"...You're right. If I can't save those kids, I have no right to call myself a hero."

His body suddenly transformed into a towering figure of muscle, golden hair, and overwhelming presence. That strange yet iconic hairstyle stood proud as he flexed once.

All Might dashed forward toward the two kids and shouted—

All Might:

"It's okay now, young man!"

"Because I am here!!"

SMASH!!!

The villain's body exploded from the blow, releasing Bakugo successfully.

.

After everything that happened...

Midoriya was scolded. Meanwhile, that little mutt got praised. And All Might stood there chatting with his fans.

Ryujin walked over to find Midoriya, who was now heading home alone. But before he could approach, a spiky-haired boy stopped Midoriya in his tracks. Ryujin chose to stay hidden... just to listen to what was about to be said.

The spiky-haired boy's words were harsh. He didn't want help from anyone—especially not from someone like Midoriya.

Ryujin didn't interfere. He only cared about what Midoriya would choose to do: take the insult quietly or punch that hedgehog right in the face.

But... Midoriya, being the good kid he always is, chose to just accept it.

After the spiky-haired boy walked off, Midoriya was alone again.

And before long, a tall, skinny man appeared.

All Might.

...

Less than five minutes later, after the two had talked for a bit—with Midoriya crying harder than ever—

I stepped forward and greeted them.

Ryujin:

"Yo. Didn't think things would get this dramatic."

All Might:

"You... You're that boy from before!"

All Might was shocked, and Midoriya turned to look at me.

Ryujin:

"Don't mean to interrupt, but uh... having this kind of talk in the middle of the street? Might not be the best idea. Wanna find a quieter place?"

Ryujin:

"Not that it matters to me, really. But... looks like you've found your successor, huh?"

All Might was stunned by what he heard. But Ryujin just started to walk away, tossing out one final comment:

Ryujin:

"Don't worry. My lips are sealed. I've got no intention of ruining you, y'know?"

He flashed a wide grin before vanishing into a dark alleyway.

Months Have Passed

Time flies. Honestly, it's gone by so fast since I came to this world. And today, I was chatting with Ashido again.

Alien Queen: Hey hey! You're going to apply to U.A., right? -

Shootshit: Yeah, I'm planning to.

Alien Queen: Hey hey! Wanna go together? :D

Shootshit: Nope.

Alien Queen: O_O*

Seeing that, I turned off my phone before she could start flooding my inbox again.

Ryojin: Sighhhh...

I let out a loud sigh, and Momo turned to look at me.

Momo: Something wrong, Ryojin?

I acted a bit bored, but yeah—we've been together long enough that we now call each other casually. I call her just "Mo."

Ryojin: It's nothing, Mo... Just thinking randomly.

I shoved my hands back into my pockets.

She just shook her head with a soft smile.

Momo (thinking): You're always like this, Ryojin.

Our relationship... has reached Level 5 now.

Naturally, I tried to check if I'd get a reward from it. But—nothing. That annoyed me a bit.

Today was our last regular day of class. Tomorrow is the school's graduation day. Gonna be crowded, no doubt.

On the way back, Momo turned to me and asked whether I was going to apply for U.A.

Ryojin: I'll be taking the regular entrance exam, old lady.

That made her happy. Then after a while, she asked:

Momo: But... you don't have a Quirk. How are you going to pass?

She asked with a puzzled face.

Ryojin: Who told you I didn't have one? I do. I just can't use it right now.

She was shocked.

Momo: Wait a second! We've been together all this time, and I've never seen you use it or even mention it!

She frowned at me.

Ryojin: Well, Mo, you never asked. Plus, I can't use it.

I said that as I picked at my ear lazily.

Momo: What do you mean you can't use it?

She tilted her head with a confused look.

Ryojin: I'm on probation.

I answered calmly and lifted my wrist to show her.

Ryojin: See this? This bracelet stops me from using my Quirk.

I showed it to her, and she said she always thought it was just an accessory—never imagined it was a suppressor.

Momo: How many years do you have left wearing that? Must be a lot, right? Can you still take the U.A. exam?

She asked with genuine concern.

Seeing that, I placed my hand on her head, ruffling her hair gently, and leaned close to her ear.

Ryojin: If you really wanna know... try being my girlfriend. I'll tell you everything.

Right after I said that, I dashed away from her—because I knew what was coming next.

Momo's face flushed red, and she chased after me, yelling:

Momo: Drop dead, you idiot!!!

She clenched her fists, and her face turned red as a tomato.

I couldn't help but laugh as I ran.

...I don't know why,

But I really like this.

No—I love this kind of connection
