The room was too white.

Too quiet.

Sea sat on the edge of the hospital bed, wrapped in a blanket that felt too heavy despite its softness. His eyes were blank, gazing at the floor. The lights were off. The only illumination was the rain trickling down the window.

The door opened gently.

Boss entered.

Not like the devil he was known to be.

But like a man—haunted.

He closed the door behind him and walked in slowly, his black suit soaked at the hem. His knuckles were still bruised from what he did to the men who laid a finger on Sea.

> "You shouldn't be here," Sea whispered, voice hoarse.

"I shouldn't be?" Boss's tone was low, dangerous—but not at Sea. At everything else. "I burned this city to find you. Don't tell me where I should be."

Sea turned away, hiding his face.

Boss knelt before him.

He didn't touch. Not yet.

Just stared.

> "They hurt you…" he whispered, voice barely above a growl.

"I'm fine."

"You're not." Boss's jaw clenched. "I know what they did. And I know how you blame yourself. But listen to me—none of it was your fault."

Sea's hands trembled.

> "Then why do I feel like I'm ruined?" Sea choked, tears finally falling.

"Because they tried to break you," Boss said, eyes burning. "But they failed. You're here. With me."

He reached forward, gently cupping Sea's face, lifting it up to meet his eyes.

> "You're not ruined, Sea. You're mine."

A moment passed.

Sea didn't pull away.

Didn't speak.

Didn't move.

Boss leaned in, brushing his forehead against Sea's.

Soft. Controlled.

No heat.

Just presence.

> "Let me show you what it feels like… to be safe," he murmured. "Not owned. Not hurt. Just—seen."

Sea's breath hitched. His body leaned forward slightly—just enough to let Boss wrap his arms around him. Protective. Fierce. Unyielding.

> "You're not broken, Sea," Boss whispered into his hair. "You're the beginning of my madness."

And outside the hospital room, the storm kept raging.

But inside—

It was the first time Sea allowed himself to feel… warmth.
