"Interesting."
Lin Dong suddenly chuckled.
Truly, every creature has its own way of survival.
With the apocalypse upon them, people would resort to any means to stay alive.
Using a drone to spy—if his window had been left open, would they have flown it right into his home to search for food?
And when that failed, they immediately turned to scavenging floating supplies from the water. What a damn genius.
"Little brother, is that drone hers?" Yang Mei asked.
Lin Dong nodded slightly. "Yeah, it flew right into her room."
"Why would she spy on you?" Yang Mei couldn't understand.
Lin Dong replied, "Probably looking for food."
"Huh?"
Yang Mei was stunned, then quickly grasped the situation. "Seems like she's running out of food too."
Lin Dong immediately realized the same.
Right, this streamer was just like him—she hadn't left her home in six months.
If she had been holed up all this time and was still alive, she must have had a steady supply of food.
During his daily workouts before, he had never spotted any drones, which meant this woman had only recently started using one.
Lin Dong pondered, "If used properly, this drone could be incredibly useful."
"That woman's place has no electricity. Without a generator, her drone probably won't last more than a few flights before the battery dies."
"But if I had it, I could recharge it and significantly extend its operational time."
The drone could serve as a remote eye—scouting for supplies, dealing with enemies, or even calling for help. It would be invaluable.
At the very least, if he had a drone, he could scout each floor to locate Liu Erlong and his men, learning their distribution.
Then, by teaming up with Cai Zhi and Ma Guocai, they could pick off Liu Erlong's men one by one. It would make things much easier.
"I need to figure out a way to get that drone from the woman downstairs."
Lin Dong thought for a moment. Since she was running out of food, maybe he could trade some for the drone.
Of course, his own food supply was running low too. He'd have to find a way to earn more Points.
The Points Lottery, where he could win food, was his real lifeline.
"I wonder how many fish Cai Zhi and Lao Ma managed to trade for."
Just as the thought crossed his mind, he heard a noise from the balcony next door.
"Lin Dong?"
He turned and saw Wu Qian peering over from her balcony.
Lin Dong smiled at her. "Sister Wu, what brings you here?"
Wu Qian wore a worried expression. "I thought I heard some movement over here, so I came to check. It sounded like something flew past—did you see anything?"
Lin Dong nodded. "Yeah, it was a drone."
"What? A drone?" Wu Qian was stunned.
Lin Dong warned her, "Keep your windows closed. Someone's using a drone to spy on us. They might even try to steal."
Wu Qian immediately checked her windows, relieved to find them all locked.
Lin Dong asked, "Are Brother Cai and Lao Ma back yet?"
"Not yet. They've been gone almost an hour," Wu Qian replied anxiously.
"How long do they usually take?"
"About an hour, usually. Sometimes, if the other side doesn't have fish ready, they have to wait."
"Then there's no rush. What are they trading for the fish?"
"Instant noodle seasoning packets."
Lin Dong was taken aback. "This can be exchanged for fish too?"
"Of course," Wu Qian nodded. "The seasoning packets from instant noodles are very fragrant. When making fish soup, adding a bit of this seasoning makes the taste much better than plain broth."
"Right now, people can't even get their hands on salt. Although sea fish have some saltiness, eating it all the time gets tiresome."
Lin Dong was stunned. He had stockpiled plenty of edible salt himself and had forgotten that many others hadn't managed to store any.
At this moment, Yang Mei finished adjusting her clothes and walked over to the balcony.
Lin Dong introduced her to Sister Wu across the way. The two exchanged greetings and chatted casually for a bit.
Upon learning that this apartment belonged to Yang Mei, Wu Qian visibly became uncomfortable and awkwardly apologized. Yang Mei, however, waved it off generously.
Even if the apartment were offered to her now, she wouldn't want to move back.
Over there, there was no food to eat, and a bunch of strangers around.
How could it compare to staying with her little brother here? There was food, drinks, just the two of them living together—much more private.
After chatting for a while, Aunt Li also came out and joined the conversation.
With three women together, the conversation grew lively. They shared their worries about the future and vented their anger at Liu Erlong and his gang for their despicable behavior.
Lin Dong tried several times to interrupt them so he and Sister Mei could finish what they had started earlier.
But Sister Mei was thoroughly enjoying the conversation and completely missed the meaningful looks Lin Dong was giving her.
Clearly, everyone had been pent up for too long and needed someone to talk to.
Seeing this, Lin Dong had no choice but to give up. He stood to the side, half-heartedly joining the conversation.
However, his hands weren't idle. He stealthily reached behind Sister Mei, exploring beneath her skirt.
Yang Mei had been chatting animatedly until his sudden assault made her tremble, letting out a startled "Ah!"
Wu Qian across the way was taken aback. "Yang Mei, are you okay?" she asked quickly.
Yang Mei hastily shook her head, her face flushed. She stole a glance at Lin Dong. "N-no... it's... it's just a mosquito."
Lin Dong kept a straight face. "It's June. Mosquitoes are normal."
His hand continued its mischief, making Yang Mei's breathing grow ragged.
Aunt Li frowned. "Mosquitoes on the 32nd floor?"
Wu Qian said, "Hard to say. With the Great Flood, everything's damp. Mosquitoes might be around."
"Still, it's strange. We haven't seen many mosquitoes here."
"Yang Mei, do you have any mosquito repellent at home? I still have some left," Aunt Li offered helpfully.
Yang Mei stammered, her face burning. "N-no... no need..."
Lin Dong chuckled. "Aunt Li, don't trouble yourself."
He leaned close to Yang Mei and whispered in her ear, "So sensitive?"
Yang Mei pleaded softly, "Little brother... please... don't tease me like this. Let's... let's go back inside."
Lin Dong smiled and said to Wu Qian and Aunt Li, "Ladies, it's best not to linger by the window too long. Someone might try to take advantage. You should head back."
Aunt Li nodded. "Alright then. Xiao Lin, when Lao Ma and the others return, I'll have them call for you."
Lin Dong nodded with a smile, then turned and helped Yang Mei back inside.
The moment they entered the living room, Yang Mei's legs gave way, and she collapsed to her knees.
Lin Dong chuckled lowly and scooped her up in his arms.
With a yelp from her, he tossed her onto the sofa.
"Little brother..."
Yang Mei's eyes were half-lidded, filled with desire.
Lin Dong, who had been holding back for over half a year, couldn't restrain himself any longer. With a low growl, he pounced on her.
"W-wait... I'm ovulating, I... I could get pregnant..."
Yang Mei suddenly remembered something and hurriedly pressed down on her skirt in panic at the critical moment.
Lin Dong instinctively thought of the box of Durex in his pocket and was about to reach for it when his eyes suddenly gleamed with a new idea.
Looking at Yang Mei's rosy, delicate lips, he felt a stirring in his heart.
"Sister Mei, at a time like this, how do you expect me to back out?"
Yang Mei glanced down at his lower abdomen and immediately flushed crimson with embarrassment. "T-then... what should we do?"
"Sister Mei, you're an experienced woman. Do I really need to teach you certain things?"
"Huh? What do you mean?" Yang Mei was stunned, her face full of confusion.
Lin Dong whispered a few words in her ear.
Yang Mei's face instantly turned scarlet as she exclaimed in shock, "T-that... that... is that even possible?"
Now it was Lin Dong's turn to be surprised. "You've never tried it before?"
"N-no... never. That's just too dirty."
Lin Dong couldn't help but feel both shocked and delighted—this was Sister Mei's first time.
