"This one's a thousand euros."
A Moroccan antique vendor attempted to sell Chen Yiyang a somewhat aged Arabic antique cup for a high price in broken English.
"A thousand euros, isn't that a bit expensive?" Chen Yiyang hesitated.
But Zhang Yuling, standing beside, immediately chimed in, "Ten euros, if you don't sell, we'll leave."
Holy crap.
Chen Yiyang turned to look at Zhang Yuling.
Most people negotiate a discount by half. You start negotiating from the ankles!
What Chen Yiyang didn't expect was that seeing Zhang Yuling really about to drag him away,
the vendor quickly stopped them, "Ten euros it is!"
Zhang Yuling took out her wallet, paid ten euros, and took the antique cup.
"So this is how you bargain in Morocco?" Chen Yiyang was dumbfounded.
"In Rabat, with vendors like these, usually, tourists slash the price to about a third of the asking price.
I bargained quite hard just now, and I didn't expect he'd agree; it seems this thing is probably fake."
