Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: You Will Not End Well in Front of Me!

Tang Sheng's heart was pounding with excitement.

With Jiang Chen as the new chief alchemist, Baodan Pavilion would soar to new heights.

He glanced at Zhu Mingyuan, whose face was pale as paper."Master Zhu, from today onward, Brother Jiang Chen will serve as the chief alchemist of Baodan Pavilion. Do you have any objections?"

Zhu Mingyuan forced a wry smile. "Objections? Master Jiang is young, but his skill in alchemy far surpasses mine. It is an honor for Baodan Pavilion to have him as its chief alchemist."

He turned to Jiang Chen, bowing his head in shame."Master Jiang, I was blind to Taishan and spoke rudely. I hope you won't hold it against me."

For the first time, the proud second-rank alchemist lowered his head completely.

After all, what was he compared to a Grade-Three High-Level Alchemist?

Jiang Chen didn't even spare him another glance. "Tang Sheng, I'll accept the position, but you also know—I am a student of Lingyun Wufu. I won't sit here refining pills all day."

Tang Sheng quickly nodded."Brother Jiang Chen, I understand. You don't need to be present at the Pavilion. I'll personally deliver the materials to you at Wufu. And as for your work—Baodan Pavilion will pay you 30% of the profit from every pill you refine."

"I don't want the profit." Jiang Chen shook his head. "I want 30% of the pills I refine."

Tang Sheng agreed without hesitation."No problem. Whatever you need, consider it done."

"Good. If the Pavilion requires pills, bring the materials directly to No. 68 in the golden student quarters."

With that, Jiang Chen turned and left.

It was already noon by the time Jiang Chen reached Tianxiang Tower, a renowned restaurant in Lingyun City. He paused at the entrance, ready to grab lunch.

"Jiang Chen! What a coincidence."

A mocking voice came from behind.

Jiang Chen turned, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Jiang Yunhong. And Jiang Qianhe.

"Why are you here?" Jiang Chen said flatly.

Jiang Yunhong smirked, strutting closer."You don't know? I've just been accepted by Master Zhu, the chief alchemist of Baodan Pavilion, as his disciple."

He raised his chin proudly."Even if you made it into Lingyun Wufu, you're just a lowly bronze student. Soon, I'll be a respected alchemist. Who will care about you then?"

Jiang Chen's lips curled into a faint smile."Really? Then let me give you some advice—enjoy your fantasy while it lasts."

Jiang Yunhong blinked. "What do you mean?"

Jiang Chen stepped closer, his voice ice-cold."Because I can guarantee you this—no alchemist in Baodan Pavilion will ever take you as their disciple."

His words struck like a hammer, wiping the smugness from Jiang Yunhong's face.
