A while ago, the director went to the provincial capital for a meeting. After witnessing the teaching quality at the Provincial First Middle School, he seriously realized the shortcomings of Town First Middle School.
He put his old face on the line and asked the director of education at the Provincial First Middle School for several sets of practice questions their students use regularly, covering all subjects.
He gave the problems from the other subjects to the respective grade leaders, but kept the math problems to himself. He would give a few questions at a time, and had all the math teachers work on them together. Only after they solved them correctly did he provide more questions.
The first two sets were solved smoothly, but each set became increasingly difficult. For this current set of six questions, three days had passed without them solving a single one.
