The sudden action of Mrs. Sterling startled the old servant, who glanced at the bedridden Dowager Kane, lowered her head, and took a few steps back.
"Mrs. Sterling, are you trying to protect this bastard?"
Though Mrs. Sterling's face was cold, she regained her gentle demeanor, smiled, and turned to Dowager Kane, saying, "She is James's daughter. I have the right to bring her here to apologize to you, but I cannot let you take her away."
"My eldest daughter-in-law also has quite the temper. If she finds out you took her back to the Ford Family, she would make a huge scene."
"In-law, I apologize for disturbing you today."
Mrs. Sterling said, standing up to prepare to leave with Serena Sullivan.
She believed, as Mrs. Sterling had said, that Serena and the others accidentally hit Dowager Kane's car.
She hadn't thought about the fact that Dowager Kane had first crashed into someone else's car.
Whether intentional or not, Mrs. Sterling leaned towards the latter.
