Claire Sullivan continued with reddened eyes, not hoping that Serena would immediately forgive her, but wanting a chance to make amends and take care of Serena.
After speaking, she lifted her head, not wanting her tears to fall too quickly for Serena to see.
In her blurred vision, suddenly a man's stern and grim face came into view, making Claire Sullivan think she was dreaming.
All these years, she didn't know how many dreams she had, dreaming of the man who treated her well, dreaming of the man to whom she had given her heart and soul, dreaming of the man who ultimately cruelly expelled her from the Imperial Capital.
Is this a dream?
Claire Sullivan looked again and realized he was very real, more vivid than any of her previous dreams. Holding Serena's hand, she felt a distinct warmth.
