The shameless look made Serena Sullivan smile, and when her eyes reddened again, she mercilessly raised her hand and slapped Ethan Grant across the face.
"Get out!"
The slap resounded crisply, and Serena's strength was not light, leaving a clear mark on Ethan's face.
"Go ahead, hit me."
Ethan gazed at Serena, speaking softly, "Hit me to death."
The harder Serena hit him, the better he felt, fearing most that she wouldn't talk to him.
Serena looked down, disdainfully observing Ethan's face, having lost interest.
"Ethan, does this amuse you?"
"You know very well why I came back!"
"I know," Ethan answered.
"So, what right do you have to care about my future?"
"My future has already been destroyed by you, by The Grant Family." Serena's tone grew sharp, a barrier between her and Ethan not just the car accident, the unanswered calls, but the accident itself.
She never believed that accident was an accident, even if the police had proven it was.
