Chapter 116 - Chapter 118: Force Shield

"Your sword skills haven't improved much. It seems you've been neglecting your training," Obi-Wan teased.

"You know what I've been busy with, Master. I haven't had any free time," Amir said helplessly.

"Then take this opportunity to refresh your memory." Obi-Wan took a step back and assumed the opening stance of Form III.

Amir mirrored him with Form III. For a moment, they faced each other, constantly moving, but neither attacked, instead searching for an opening.

This continued for more than ten seconds. Finally, Obi-Wan, taking the teacher's role, stepped forward and attacked.

Amir quickly adjusted his posture and parried skillfully. The lightsabers clashed in the air, emitting a pleasant hum.

32 watched the two train, a look of remembrance in his eyes, but it quickly returned to normal. One of his previous training regimens had been using a lightsaber against dozens of droids. When he was unskilled, he had been beaten black and blue.

Milisen was not Force-sensitive and hadn't experienced this, but her situation wasn't much better. To stimulate their latent potential, the experiment would often arrange a series of "stimulation" training sessions, using pain and fear to stir emotions and draw out an awakening of the dark side.

Fortunately, Milisen was forgetful. Those pains were gradually buried deep in her mind, slowly dissolved by her current happiness. Everything had turned into the brightness in her eyes when she looked at Amir.

32 didn't think any more of it and continued to read the textbook Amir had given him, his lips moving...

"Try this!" Obi-Wan extended his left hand from the side and pushed at Amir.

An irresistible force rushed toward Amir. Although it was sudden, Amir still reacted quickly, likewise extending his left hand to push back. For a moment, their two Force pushes were deadlocked in the middle.

"Good strength," Obi-Wan said with some admiration.

"I can be even stronger," Amir said, increasing the force slightly. He was only defending, not using his full strength.

Obi-Wan smiled faintly and suddenly released his left hand, stepping forward.

Amir was shocked. Isn't Obi-Wan going to block my Force push?. The force he was exerting wasn't small; it could injure him. Amir quickly retracted the Force he was releasing, but then discovered that the effect on Obi-Wan was minimal. He was approaching him without obstruction.

What's going on? Did the Force push fail?.

Facing Obi-Wan's renewed offensive, Amir was caught off guard by his surprise and responded hastily.

The blue lightsaber stuck close to Amir's blade, followed the momentum of Amir's own force, and gave a sudden push, throwing Amir's stance off balance. Without stopping, as Amir tried to stop Obi-Wan by applying an opposing force, he again followed Amir's momentum, tracing an oval in the air.

At this point, Amir knew he had lost. Already off balance and guided by Obi-Wan's lightsaber, his wrist was twisted to its limit. With a final flick from Obi-Wan, the lightsaber flew from his hand, deactivated automatically, and the hilt fell to the sandy ground.

"How did you do that?" Amir asked, amazed.

"Haha, a very simple technique. Do you want to learn it, my apprentice?" Obi-Wan teased again.

Amir knew he was showing it because he wanted to teach him.

"Of course, of course," Amir played along.

"This is an advanced use of Force Protection. In the past, your control of the Force was insufficient, so you could only manage a simple block. But against powerful Force abilities, you couldn't defend."

"This technique uses the Force to form a more powerful barrier around your body, nullifying the Force's effect on you. As long as your Force is stronger than your opponent's, you can easily cancel the attack. If you are weaker, it's fine; it can help you hold on more easily. It not only blocks Force pushes but also other powerful abilities, including many dark side techniques."

Amir listened to Obi-Wan's words, lost in thought. Previously, when facing a Force push, Amir could only shield his body with the Force, or push back to offset some of the force and avoid too much damage, but he would still be affected by the push.

But with the technique Obi-Wan just demonstrated, as long as the Force he used to resist was stronger than Amir's push, the Force's effect on his body seemed to just... disappear. He didn't need to struggle to resist; he just walked forward as if nothing had happened.

Obi-Wan continued, "Maintaining a Force shield is like having an extra layer of strong armor. As for how to use it...".

Obi-Wan began to explain the method of operating the Force shield to Amir.

Through continuous trial and error, Amir spent a great deal of effort to construct a small, invisible shield in front of him.

The Force flowed and spun rapidly on this shield, like a whirlpool, or a transparent Taiji symbol.

"It's still a bit unstable," Obi-Wan sensed. "But it's very good. This technique is difficult. Being able to learn it so quickly proves your talent. Besides, learning and training are your true strengths. I believe you will be able to use it proficiently very soon."

Amir felt the Force shield operating in front of him and smiled, satisfied. He could predict that after practicing this ability, he would soon be able to form a stable "field" around his body, protecting him like invisible armor.

Amir had worried before. When he used the Force Choke on the Inquisitor, he thought that one day it would happen to him. His own Force would be hard-pressed to defend against a Force Choke from the Sith Lord Darth Vader. But now it was different. Amir felt that in the future, he might even be able to easily withstand a heavy laser cannon.

Watching Amir tirelessly testing his new skill, Obi-Wan smiled and said, "I'm heading to Mos Eisley. I just found a new job. Remember to contact me when you and Ahsoka are ready to make your move."

"Okay, okay," Amir replied without turning his head.

Obi-Wan, looking slightly melancholic, mounted his Eopie and set off.

"We should get going too," Amir stopped and said to 32, Milisen, and BD-4.

"Where? Where?" Milisen asked excitedly. Although Tatooine had its own unique beauty, Milisen couldn't appreciate it. There was only sand here, which she hated. Sand, and more sand.

"We're going to Planet Hoth. A white world, full of ice and snow," Amir told her.

"Wow! Yay! Let's go!" Milisen urged, pulling on Amir's robe.

"First, we need to buy some clothes for you and 32. It's very cold there. You'll freeze without a winter coat," Amir said.

"Clothes!" Milisen wiggled happily.

32 looked up, confused.

"You have to wear them too. If your motor oil freezes, you'll be a several-hundred-pound block of iron. I can't carry you."
