Chapter 93 - Chapter 94: The Boy and the Beast (Part 2)

Amir felt the pressure from the Grand Inquisitor. He was indeed strong. Both his command of the Force and his lightsaber skills were far superior to the Fifth Brother.

Facing a single, focused opponent, Amir couldn't use misdirection to make them hinder each other. He could only rely on his true strength, and the pressure was gradually mounting.

The Grand Inquisitor clearly realized this. He warned the Fifth Brother, who was at the side, not to rush in blindly but to wait for an opening.

At this moment, the Fifth Brother was running toward his dropped lightsaber. For some reason, the shaking had become very frequent and increasingly violent. He stared intently at the hilt, which was only a finger's width from the magnetic shield. One more violent shake and the weapon might fall out into the void!

After getting close enough, the Fifth Brother stretched out his hand and began to reach out with the Force to pull the lightsaber back.

As he began to exert control, the hilt on the deck trembled and was about to rise. But just then, a burst of rapid blaster fire came from the Traveler's ramp!

The bolts weren't aimed at the Fifth Brother, but at his lightsaber. The aim was poor, but Mona, who was firing, didn't need precision. She just wanted to interfere with him retrieving his weapon.

As luck would have it, one bolt clipped the hilt. Under the impact, the lightsaber was knocked to the side. Under the watchful eyes of both Mona and the Fifth Brother, the weapon flew in a graceful arc and landed right next to the energy shield in the distance. It hadn't fallen out yet!

The Fifth Brother gave a defiant smile and reached out his hand again. But just then, the warship suddenly shook violently once more. The Inquisitor was thrown forward in a lurch. By the time he stabilized himself and looked up, he saw the lightsaber, pushed by the inertia, tumble through the field and vanish into the vacuum of space!

Mona's eyes brightened a little.

The Fifth Brother wanted to scream, but there was no time.

Amir struggled to parry the Grand Inquisitor's onslaught. The two had now switched positions. Amir was standing on the side closer to the Traveler. He took two steps back, and the two entered a standoff.

Neither had the desire to continue fighting, because the surrounding red klaxons were flashing rapidly: Shield energy depleted. This place could be destroyed at any moment.

"You go into the warship, I'll go to my ship. We can both live. That big guy is moving toward us... No! It's already here," Amir said. He had expanded his senses again. This time, he felt a huge life force right beneath the deck plates.

"You can't escape my grasp!" The Grand Inquisitor also wanted to retreat, but he still intended to seize the freighter, because the cruiser under his feet was no longer safe.

Amir slowly retreated. The Grand Inquisitor continued to press forward!

Just then, in the corner of Amir's eye, a boy walked out of the corridor. He was bare-chested, his skin covered in lesions, like a demon crawling out of hell.

Amir recognized him instantly, because that dark energy couldn't be faked. It was 032!

His heart jumped. 032 was here. That explained why the Exogorth, which was targeting 032, was so close.

In that instant, Amir made a decision: Run! He had to run immediately! Without the deflector shield, this layer of hull plating was useless against such a massive creature! The Exogorth's next impact would inevitably tear a hole in this light cruiser!

And they were standing right at the spot that was about to be breached.

The result was predictable!

A flurry of thoughts flashed through his mind, but Amir was looking at 032, who had been confined to a bacta tank. When he first sensed him, the boy's life force was minuscule, on the verge of death. This was why Amir had given up on rescuing him earlier.

Now, in Amir's senses, 032's body contained an incredibly majestic life force! This was nothing like what such a small life form should have. It was more like... more like...

The Exogorth outside! And their energy signatures were too similar, as if the beast had injected its own vitality into 032.

Amir increasingly felt this wasn't just a guess; it was the truth. What kind of connection existed between this boy and the beast?

032 kept staring at Amir with cloudy eyes. In his gaze, Amir sensed a trace of curiosity and nervousness...

Amir didn't know why he felt such emotions. There was no time to think. A strong premonition shot into the back of his head!

Focusing all his mental energy, Amir used the Force to push the Grand Inquisitor with all his might!

Facing the wave of Force, the Grand Inquisitor also raised his hand. He managed to block the initial wave, but the subsequent strength was beyond his imagination. His body began to slide backward across the deck.

And just then, the impact hit!

BOOM!

A thunderous roar exploded by his ears! The hard alloy floor of the hangar was smashed upward into a huge bulge. The Traveler itself was bounced off the ground by the collision.

The Grand Inquisitor, caught off balance by the collision, was thrown backward in the direction of Amir's push!

No time to worry about anything else. Amir used the Force to give himself maximum speed, launching himself toward the Traveler's entrance!

The second impact came!

CRUNCH!

Amir had already rushed up the ramp, yanked up Mona (who had been knocked dizzy), and dashed into the ship's interior, immediately hitting the button to retract the ramp.

As expected, the first hit was just a probe. Through the gap of the closing ramp, Amir saw a giant, earthy-yellow body easily tear through the hangar floor. The atmospheric shield flickered and died. In an instant, the air in the hangar began to vent explosively into the void!

The Fifth Brother frantically scrambled into the Inquisitor's shuttle. The Grand Inquisitor also scrambled and dove inside, madly slapping the switch! The hatch hissed closed and locked!

The Traveler's ramp finally sealed with a thud. At the last moment, Amir saw 032's calm expression through the gap. A trace of regret flashed in his heart.

But there was nothing he could do. If he had more time, Amir would have saved him. But now, he could only watch as the boy was swept into the cold of space.

At this moment, the Traveler flipped violently, as if it had been thrown hard, spinning uncontrollably in the vacuum!

The world was spinning!

Most of the children had strapped themselves into the crash seats and didn't panic too much.

But Amir had not! Grabbing a handle, he secured Mona into a seat, and then used all his strength to haul himself toward the cockpit.

They weren't out of danger yet!

Through the cockpit's viewport, Amir saw the stars spinning outside, and the massive, earthy-yellow body of the beast. They had been thrown clear of the cruiser.

With the help of the Force to steady himself against the G-forces, Amir finally reached the pilot's seat. After strapping in, he quickly operated the panel and fired the engines.

The console lights flickered to life. The Traveler was awake once again, only this time a behemoth was eyeing it covetously.

Amir injected a powerful thrust into the engines. The Traveler burst forward with extreme acceleration, flying into the distance. Amir constantly adjusted his vector, weaving away from the Exogorth's massive body.

Luckily, the creature paid no attention to the small ship. It was still searching for something near the crippled cruiser.

He fled a great distance in one go. Feeling no immediate threat from behind, Amir turned the ship around and looked back at the Imperial vessel.

The bottom of the massive warship was severely damaged. Starting from the central hangar, the damage spread out for dozens of meters. Broken metal structures were scattered, and bursts of fire and vented atmosphere erupted from the breach.

The Exogorth had detached from the warship and was floating quietly nearby.

Amir found this scene shocking and activated the ship's long-range scopes.

Zoom in, and zoom in again.

Suddenly, Amir's eyes widened.

On the Exogorth's head, next to a massive tentacle, a small figure had his hands firmly dug into the beast's dry skin. He was staring quietly into the distance.

He was looking right at Amir.
