Chapter 84 - Chapter 85: The Manual

Demonstrating his ability at this time was not a problem. The vast majority of Force-sensitives could come to understand the basics of the Force on their own. Amir hoped to use this method to arouse their curiosity, allowing him to leave this room and go to their training ground or other testing areas.

Only by getting outside could he have more room to maneuver.

As expected, when Tulio saw Amir's action, his eyes lit up with excitement.

"How much can you do?" Tulio looked at the surrounding environment, as if searching for something for Amir to manipulate.

But on the ship, the vast majority of items were bolted to the deck; there were no loose objects that could move freely.

After looking around without results, Tulio seemed to think of something and asked, "Can you lift yourself?"

Amir hesitated for a moment. Levitation wasn't a particularly difficult thing in theory. The problem was changing one's perception of oneself. One couldn't think of the Force as merely an extension of one's arms, because while arms can lift external objects, they cannot lift the body they are attached to.

Only by having a correct understanding of the Force as an energy field, and twisting conventional thinking, could it be done.

"I haven't tried it like that," Amir said.

"Try it!"

Although he really wanted to educate the Ithorian with Master Yoda's words—"Do or do not. There is no try"—Amir rationally held back.

He mobilized the surrounding Force to slowly counteract gravity and lifted himself up.

Although he only rose ten centimeters off the deck, Tulio was already about to shout in excitement.

"What talent! The other test subjects need at least a few months under our guidance to master this!"

Amir smiled sheepishly.

In truth, he had only learned this after meeting Obi-Wan. Before that, he couldn't even counteract a portion of his gravity very well. But he was indeed a fast learner. After Obi-Wan taught him the theory, he succeeded after only one or two attempts.

This time, Tulio did his best to suppress his excitement and didn't shout, seeming to have learned from yesterday's incident.

But he still couldn't restrain his inner agitation.

"Quick, start studying the materials in this manual! This is your work for today!" He urged Amir to land and read the booklet.

Amir cooperatively sat back down on the bunk and began to flip through it.

Just a glance at the table of contents shocked Amir.

Basic Force Telekinesis... Methods and Applications of Resisting Gravity... The Way the Force Acts on the Mind...

"Are they really systematically researching this?" Amir was full of curiosity about the content and began to read.

"This is what we've summarized from the data stored in the Jedi Temple archives and our own experiments over the years. We've provided the latest explanations and innovations on that old data. You can memorize it roughly first, and later we will take you to the training ground for detailed testing."

Tulio was very happy and continued, "We originally thought we would have to spend a lot of time teaching you the basics, but your talent has saved us the trouble!"

"My honor," Amir said sincerely.

As he said this, Amir had a sudden idea. He used the same Force persuasion technique that Tulio had used on him. At this moment, excitement still occupied Tulio's mind, making his mental defenses very lax.

Amir tried to stir the Ithorian's emotions, making him even more excited, and then "kneaded" the words "My honor" into his brain.

Because it was his first time using it, Amir didn't try to destroy his original beliefs. He just safely reinforced a short phrase, purely to make Tulio believe his sincerity more deeply.

At this, Tulio's eyes slowly changed from excitement to gratification. "I know, Amir. I can already feel that you have the same heart as us, willing to sacrifice everything for the experiment! You study on your own first. I will go and arrange the next training plan for you."

"Okay, I will definitely study hard and provide more sufficient data for the experiment!" Amir pressed his advantage, stuffing an even longer sentence into the alien's brain.

Watching Tulio leave the room with the look of having found a kindred spirit, Amir lowered his head and focused on reading.

The contents of this booklet were indeed very useful. Although there wasn't much in-depth philosophy, and it was mostly summarization and systematization, these results could absolutely speed up a Force-sensitive's training.

It also proposed many innovative ways to use the Force, such as the method of "machine-assisted Force perception": placing a device capable of transmitting long-range signals in a certain location. In theory, as long as one was completely familiar with this signal frequency, one could use the Force to vaguely perceive the signal source's location within range.

This point reminded Amir of the stories where Darth Vader used Force choke through a long-range holographic call.

This meant that the Force could be extended to distant places through some medium, such as sound waves, electromagnetic waves, or even abstract concepts.

Although some Jedi Masters could do this without any medium, for an apprentice like Amir, this method was undoubtedly of great practical value.

He had to admit that what Gideon said wasn't false: "The galaxy's top biologists are gathered here."

Although most of them were likely not Force-sensitive, their scientific research into the Force had already reached a very deep level.

This ordinary manual held unimaginable value.

For the entire day, Amir studied the booklet, only eating a little bit of lunch hastily.

Finally, upon seeing the last page, Amir let out a long breath.

"This isn't the complete content. It only includes the basic knowledge and innovative results in a few areas. There are also some unverified hypotheses that might be the work they plan to assign to me."

"This content has already benefited me greatly." Amir habitually closed his eyes, recalling what he had seen in the booklet today. He didn't stop acting during this process, putting on a very exhausted expression.

Amir had always been very confident in his memory.

When he closed his eyes, what he wanted to recall would appear very clearly in his mind. But this would still become blurry over time, so he needed to review it regularly.

But in the short term, he could recall almost all the details.

Usually, before starting meditation, he would go over the things he needed to review to deepen the memory. This gave him a strong learning ability, whether in mechanics or, more recently, lightsaber training.

The process of Amir recalling was interpreted differently by the people behind the camera.

Tulio was standing next to Gideon at this moment, observing Amir's every move on the monitor.

"It seems your judgment was correct. Yesterday's indoctrination was very successful. His sense of identification is already very strong. He actually persisted in reading these obscure materials for a whole day," Gideon said mockingly, looking at Amir, who was leaning against the bed exhausted, frowning, but still holding the manual.

Tulio was very dissatisfied with the contempt for the materials in Gideon's tone. Those were the important achievements of their researchers over the years. But he could only nod in agreement.

"Sir, there's been an accident with Test Subject 548." Just then, a researcher ran in from outside the lab.

"548?"

"It's Mona," Tulio said. "One of the two test subjects with no Force sensitivity. The other is named Milisen. I've spoken with her. What happened?"

"She concealed her injuries. She couldn't withstand the stimulation training and lost consciousness."
