Chapter 334 - 《Harry Potter- Ravenclaw》Chapter 202: Advancing Bloodline Magic

"Harry Potter- Ravenclaw"Chapter 202: Advancing Bloodline Magic

Slytherin pressed his lips together, studying Wyzett as if seeing him for the very first time.

Noticing Slytherin's peculiar expression, Wyzett hesitated. "Headmaster Slytherin, is my theory… too far-fetched?"

"No!" Slytherin cut him off. "The fact you've reached this level of insight is beyond what I expected. No wonder you're a Ravenclaw…"

"This is good news—it means you've developed a deep enough understanding of bloodline magic. We can now begin the real lessons."

Wyzett didn't dwell on it. He made a clear mark in his notebook, circling "Muggle" and adding it to his list of future research topics.

Slytherin rose to his feet. "The bloodline magic I'm about to teach you is the result of my own research."

The Basilisk sensed the change in the air, growing restless and flicking its tongue with a low hiss.

Thinking of the ruined chamber, Wyzett asked, "Headmaster Slytherin, are you referring to what's stored in the Chamber's stone vault?"

"Exactly—those ashes," Slytherin replied, stroking the Basilisk's head to calm it. "There are certain similarities between The Commandment and bloodline magic…"

Fortunately, Wyzett's solid grounding in both Potions and ritual magic allowed him to keep pace, stepping fully into the study of bloodline magic.

Just as Slytherin had said, The Commandment and bloodline magic shared some common ground.

Both could draw power from magical creatures through ritual magic…

And both carried their own limitations.

The Commandment demanded strict adherence to its contract—break it, and you risk death.

Bloodline magic, on the other hand, always carried the possibility of mutation—unpredictable side effects that could not be ignored.

If you imagine The Commandment and traditional bloodline magic as two ends of a scale, then Slytherin's research found its balance in the middle: minimizing risks and costs, while amplifying the rewards.

Slytherin seated himself atop the Basilisk once more. "Now, back to questions. What have you learned from all this?"

Wyzett glanced at him and noticed something strange: Slytherin's skin was taking on a granite hue, as if he might turn to stone at any moment.

He hesitated. "Headmaster Slytherin… are you about to become a statue again?"

Slytherin nodded. "This is how I've temporarily evaded death—a result of my own research into The Commandment."

"The Petrification Commandment allows me to become a statue, while the Death Commandment lets me sidestep death itself… Of course, the price is clear: I can only be active for a short time each day."

For some reason, Wyzett suddenly recalled the veil and the skeletal figure he'd glimpsed when he first cast the Patronus Charm and first learned about souls.

He asked softly, "Sidestepping death… Is it because there's something else on the other side?"

Slytherin smiled faintly. "Is that what you believe?"

Wyzett nodded. "I don't think… people like you would fear death."

"We don't fear it. We just don't want to be bound by that kind of death—at least, not yet," Slytherin replied simply. "Let's continue—our time is almost up."

"It's all still conceptual for now…" Wyzett summarized as he wrote. "After all, brewing a bloodline potion requires long and careful preparation."

"In my opinion, bloodline potions are a lot like Polyjuice Potion. Polyjuice mimics a person's appearance, but bloodline potions mimic the talents of magical creatures."

"Exactly. My inspiration did come from Polyjuice Potion," Slytherin confirmed with a slow nod. "Go on."

Flipping through his notes, Wyzett continued, "Headmaster Slytherin, I think what's most groundbreaking about your research is… you plan to build many 'bridges'."

"These bridges—drawn from various magical creatures' talents—can respond in an instant, saving time on spellwork and incantations, and granting unique effects…"

"If you could use bloodline magic to gain the talents of a house-elf, and do it thoroughly enough… you could move about Hogwarts completely unhindered."

"Excellent summary, and your example is quite clever," Slytherin said, his voice growing slower, his eyes shimmering with a nostalgic light.

"Wyzett, the knowledge you've acquired has given you a solid foundation… At least for this lesson, you've done exceptionally well."

"We should end here… As for the next lesson, it may be a long wait. It's December now, so—until next year!"

He patted the Basilisk's head and hissed in Parseltongue, "Where do you wish to go…"

Before Slytherin could finish, the Basilisk answered, "I… want… to stay… here…"

"Very well." With that, Slytherin and the Basilisk returned to the statue's pedestal, and both resumed their stone forms.

Now, with the Basilisk coiled around it, the statue was even more imposing—like a mountain rising in spirals, with Salazar Slytherin at its summit.

Wyzett closed his notebook and bowed deeply to the statue.

Through Slytherin's teachings, he had not only unlocked the secrets of bloodline magic, but also deepened his understanding of his own Commandments by drawing connections across disciplines.

The Commandment was, in truth, much like Ancient Magic—not as all-encompassing, perhaps, but with its own unique strengths.

Wyzett could now wield a gaze reminiscent of the Basilisk's: wherever his eyes landed, the Petrification Commandment would take effect, turning the target into a statue, just like Mrs. Norris.

Of course, his current mastery was still shallow—using such a gaze would strain his eyes.

But as he delved deeper into bloodline magic, he was confident he'd find a way to counteract that harm.

This was only the beginning. With further study, he would surely master even more applications of The Commandment.

To him, the true value of magic wasn't in its destructive power, but in its ability to transform life itself.

Climbing the last step, Wyzett caught sight of a figure he could never mistake, waiting on the far side of the Astronomy Tower.

Luna must have been there for some time, her sketchbook open to a landscape scene.

As if sensing his presence, she set down her brush and turned.

Their eyes met.

A breeze swept through, sending Luna's pale gold hair streaming behind her—a dazzling halo of sunlight.

"More radiant than the sunset…" Wyzett murmured, quickening his pace to her side. "I'm back."

Luna looked him up and down, her eyes curving in a gentle smile. "Looks like everything went well."

Wyzett grinned. "Well, I did make a promise, didn't I?"
