Chapter 2 - The Statue

In a dark museum there once was a statue. The statue was of a man with its eyes closed that wore only cloth. The pose it stood everyday was the same, his hands out to the sides and eyes looking up, with his wings closed. The cloth made of stone wrapped around his body and part of the wings.

The museum would always leave the statue at the same corner and showed it to the visitors. Thus the statue was the attraction that brought people in.

The eyes of the visitors stare at the angel statue which gives the statue a sense of pride. It thought to itself everyday the same thing.

They came to see me again, I am so happy.

As days passed the museum owner was jailed for tax fraud and illegally selling artifacts.

In reprimand to his actions the museum shut down and sold to cover the damage done.

Everything was taken aside from the statue. So it stood there alone with no eyes to see his beauty.

In the dark and abandoned museum it stood still waiting for visitors. And after centuries the state department decided to rebuild the once famous museum.

The head manager of the project decided "I'll visit this place before construction."

The first thing he saw in the museum was crushed bones that layed on the cold floor. In shock he quickly back away.

Looking around at his surroundings he saw a statue of a beautiful angel. The wings opened and stone tears dripped from the closed eyes but it was covered in cracks.

The man said, "Poor angel was all alone in this building, it must had been lonely."

The man grabbed his phone from his pocket and called the police. He told them about the museum covered in bones and splatches of blood.

The man looked back at the angel he saw before in the building and noticed the slight change of poses but simply played it off as his imagination.

He walked over to his car and left.

As he arrived at his house he called out to his wife and children but had no answers. Confused, he tapped the light switch but it did not light up his house.

Thinking it was a prank played by his daughter he laughed it off before he decided to go along with it. Grabbing his phone and turning the flashlight he walked upstairs to his wife's room.

"Dear, Where are you?"

He looked around but couldn't find her.

Maybe she is with my daughter.

So he went over to his daughter's room and knocked three times.

"Daddy is home. Where are you hiding?"

Hearing no reply, not even a chuckle he knocked once more and saw the door open slightly.

"I'm coming in."

Seeing nothing once more he got worried and turned around, but once he did he realized there was a stabbing pain in his chest and a figure that resembled a statue with wings that stood before him.
