"Director Kai, you've arrived..."
The guard, looked somewhat strange, his smile slightly awkward.
"Yes, Director Hela hasn't left work yet."
The other car in the corner was Hela's Nissan, clearly not in the same class as his.
"I'm not quite sure either."
Old guard, who was usually warm, eager, and even flattering, lowered his head after just a couple of words, which immediately made Kai feel something was off.
Still, he didn't take it to heart. Such insignificant figures were beneath his concern anyway. Greeting them actively was merely to maintain his approachable and amiable image.
"This... Director Kai!!"
"Director Kai..."
All along the way, the expressions of those who greeted him were just too odd. Kai was no fool, and he instantly sensed that something was wrong.
Some looked outright surprised, others wore faint embarrassment, and yet others carried a hint of indescribable mockery.
