Cherreads

Chapter 132 - 132

Suddenly, he felt something at his feet, and when he turned his head, he realized that Chu Yang had already moved a stool over.

"Thank you." Dumbledore slowly sat down, took a few deep breaths, and then said, "Most Horcruxes have almost no connection with Voldemort due to time, but the soul fragment on Harry is different."

Chu Yang asked, "Has Voldemort sensed what happened here?"

Dumbledore nodded, "He should be here soon. Before that, we need to deal with the other Horcruxes first."

Saying that, he placed all the Horcruxes on the ground and then poured the Basilisk's venom over them.

Hiss~~~

The sound of corrosion came, followed by the Horcruxes' shrill screams. They were like living things, their voices filled with terror.

After a bottle of venom was poured, the screams slowly stopped, and all the Horcruxes deformed under the venom's corrosion, oozing a bright red liquid like blood.

Chu Yang waved his wand, and the ground immediately collapsed.

The Horcruxes were buried, the soil closed, and everything returned to normal.

"I need to go back. Voldemort could arrive at any moment." Dumbledore instructed, "While protecting Harry and the others, you must also protect yourself!"

Chu Yang nodded.

Dumbledore performed Apparition, leaving with Hagrid.

Sirius walked over and whispered, "Although Hogwarts is the main battlefield, we also need to make some preparations here in advance."

"Do whatever you want, you don't need to ask me." Chu Yang was noncommittal, returning to the tent to sit down and read. He didn't care how large an alliance Voldemort could gather.

Besides the Death Eaters, it was just some dark creatures, like Giants, at most…

Seeing Chu Yang's casual attitude, Sirius said nothing more and quietly set up magic traps around them.

In the evening, Firenze suddenly appeared, walked to Chu Yang's side, and bowed his head, saying, "My kin have detected traces of Werewolf activity nearby, and the Giant Race and other dark creatures deep in the Forbidden Forest are also stirring. They should all be coming for Harry Potter."

Chu Yang's lips curved slightly, "Mr. Riddle truly has a wide circle of friends."

Firenze asked, "Should we strike first?"

Chu Yang shook his head, "No need. Your kin would suffer heavy losses. Let them come; let the War Tree handle them."

"You ambush first. When their attention is drawn by the War Tree, you can then launch a surprise attack."

"Don't worry about the Giant Race; try to clear out the other dark creatures."

Firenze understood and immediately left with Chu Yang's orders.

Soon, the Centaur race quietly concealed themselves in the jungle, waiting for the opportunity.

Night fell.

Harry, Hermione, and Ron nervously stayed inside the small cabin, with Sirius guarding them.

Chu Yang stayed with the Unicorns, standing quietly by the lake. Under the Gekko, the calm lake water suddenly began to ripple, the waves vibrating, spreading out in ever-widening circles.

The vibrations grew stronger and stronger; even the stones at Chu Yang's feet were bouncing.

With a few incomprehensible roars, a Giant burst out of the woods and stared at Chu Yang across the lake.

The second one…

The third one…

More and more Giants appeared from the darkness, along with many dark creatures, all eyeing Chu Yang and the small cabin behind him with predatory gazes.

Chu Yang flipped onto the Unicorn's back and yawned. He had waited so long that he was getting sleepy.

At the same time, the leading Giant Race launched a charge, followed closely by the other dark creatures.

Rumble!!!

A sound like a collapsing mountain exploded on the battlefield. Giants stopped in their tracks, looking back, and sudden fear appeared in their eyes.

Before them, an ancient tree, towering to the sky and obscuring the clouds, was slowly standing up.

One of the branches hanging from the giant tree was almost as thick as a Giant's waist.

Although these dark creatures were all monsters, the colossal being before them was a monster among monsters!

Before the Giants could retreat, the War Tree suddenly swung its arm, and thousands of branches swept across the battlefield, simultaneously knocking over a dozen Giants.

Hogwarts.

Dumbledore led all the teachers to cast a magic barrier to protect the school.

Outside the barrier, Voldemort and the Death Eaters were watching menacingly.

At this time, Voldemort was possessing Barty Crouch Jr., whose father was Barty Crouch, the Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation.

In the last operation to clear out the remaining Death Eaters, Barty Crouch Jr. was imprisoned at the age of 19.

Old Crouch, who originally had a chance to become the Minister of Magic, was therefore transferred to the Department of International Magical Cooperation, with no hope of further advancement in his lifetime.

Old Crouch hated his son deeply, but his wife had always worried about their son, causing her health to rapidly deteriorate in a short period.

Before her death, Mrs. Crouch drank Polyjuice Potion, transformed into her son's appearance, and with Old Crouch's maneuvering, swapped her son out of Azkaban.

Soon after, Mrs. Crouch died in Azkaban as Barty Crouch Jr.

Barty Crouch Jr. did not gain freedom because of this. His devout faith in Voldemort horrified Old Crouch, so he was kept imprisoned at home.

Until Voldemort accidentally learned of him…

Old Crouch had already been controlled by Voldemort's Imperius Curse.

He secretly did many things for him, including the large-scale Azkaban breakout.

The Ministry of Magic was also under Voldemort's control.

Even so, Voldemort still could not suppress the panic in his heart.

Because he couldn't find any of the Horcruxes…

The diary, Hufflepuff's golden cup, ravenclaw's diadem, the Gaunt family's ring, Slytherin's locket.

Except for ravenclaw's diadem, Voldemort had confirmed all the other Horcruxes one by one.

They were gone!

Only one person in this world could have taken all his Horcruxes.

Dumbledore!

Voldemort seized control of Barty Crouch Jr.'s body, slowly walked to the barrier, and pressed his hand against it. The barrier rippled like water.

Voldemort's eyes coldly gazed at Hogwarts, standing majestically on the clifftop, and slowly uttered a few words.

"Attack!"

As soon as the words fell, countless spells rained down on the barrier, looking like colorful celebratory fireworks from afar.

There were also some Dementors circling above Hogwarts, all helpers Voldemort had exchanged for benefits.

Inside the castle, the lower-year students were led by the upper-year students to gather in the Great Hall.

Draco Malfoy was trembling in the crowd.

Because he knew his parents were outside, standing with Voldemort.

Lucius Malfoy, who had lost the diary, was almost killed by Voldemort. Fortunately, he pledged his loyalty in time and once again became his pawn.

Lucius also wrote to Draco, telling him to be an insider at school and to help Voldemort capture Harry Potter at the critical moment.

Draco, at such a young age, couldn't bear such pressure and had been on the verge of a breakdown during this time.

Fortunately, Harry had gone to the Forbidden Forest, so Draco couldn't help even if he wanted to, and he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Dumbledore and some combat-capable teachers gathered in the outer courtyard, maintaining the barrier while discussing how to deal with Voldemort.

Someone suggested asking the Ministry of Magic for help, but it was met with Snape's ridicule.

"The Ministry of Magic is a sieve; who knows how many Death Eaters are hidden inside? How could Voldemort appear here so brazenly without them knowing?"

"Go outside and see; there must be many familiar faces waiting for you."

Snape's words sparked a heated discussion among all the teachers present, and for a moment, it was pandemonium.

Professor McGonagall interrupted their discussion and said loudly, "Headmaster Dumbledore is still here."

Just one sentence was like a reassurance, and the teachers stopped arguing.

Yes.

Dumbledore was still here.

Then, we have the confidence to defeat Voldemort.

Dumbledore smiled at everyone, "Do not fear; magic will guide us forward."

......

Forbidden Forest.

The War Tree's violent appearance immediately halted the onslaught of the monster army.

It was like a reef suddenly rising in a raging current.

The Giant Race, charging at the forefront, suffered heavy losses.

With every sweep of the War Tree, Giants who couldn't dodge in time would crash into it head-on.

The War Tree was like a grinding mill; wherever it went, flesh and blood flew.

The Werewolves, relying on their agile movements and extraordinary intelligence, dodged the War Tree's attacks and launched counterattacks during the attack intervals.

They quickly climbed onto the War Tree's body along its roots and branches, biting furiously.

The War Tree twisted its body, trying to shake off the Werewolves, but there were too many of them. Even if a few fell, more Werewolves followed in quick succession.

Its massive size offered unparalleled advantages on the battlefield, but its disadvantages were equally obvious.

After the Werewolves, spiders and other dark creatures also climbed onto the War Tree's body, biting it together.

The War Tree let out mournful wails.

Only the Giant Race remained on the ground. Their bulky figures couldn't climb onto the War Tree's body like the other dark creatures.

So, the Giants turned their attention to Chu Yang and the Unicorn herd, brandishing their bludgeons and charging.
