Time slows for Xiao Kai. Her beauty, strength, and calm presence shake him silently.
> (Inner monologue) "She… feels like the moon above a battlefield. Untouchable, yet warm."
But when she turns toward him for a second, he averts his eyes, pretending to be invisible. He walks away, quietly smiling.

The next day, Xiao Kai heads to a quiet backyard behind the sect's outer ring, wanting to train alone.
But it's a trap. Jin Yue and his gang ambush him. They've grown suspicious ever since the spiritual pressure incident.
> Jin Yue: "You act humble, but there's something about you. Time to remind you of your place."
Surrounded, Xiao Kai refuses to unleash his real strength. He boosts his power only to a 2-star Foundation Establishment, enough to fight but not win easily.
He's bruised and bleeding, cornered, yet still holding back.

Suddenly, a powerful frost wind pierces the area. The fight freezes.
Cheng Xiao arrives, arms folded, her crimson blade sheathed.

The orb whispers:
