At the Myrmidon, Shawn, James, Abigail, Cassandra and Margaret continue to try to contact Kyle and Caleb.
Shawn: Kyle.....Caleb....is anyone there? Goddammit...
James: They gotta be alive. Somewhere.
Kyle finally makes contacts the Myrmidon.
Kyle: Kyle to Myrmidon. Kyle to Myrmidon. Do you copy?
Shawn: Kyle, thank god!
James: You and Caleb good?
Kyle: Yeah.....Caleb and I found some survivors who are giving us a hand getting back to the Myrmidon.....
Margaret: What's the situation on the area?
Kyle: The area is unlivable...the forest area is nice, but there's bandits and there's a dam that's about to break.
Abigail raises her head.
Abigail: Fuck.....
Kyle: What about Cassandra?
Sarah: Cassandra's holding out....but just barely. Kayla, Moses and Rachel are with her now.....
Kyle sighs.
Kyle: Okay....tell her Caleb and I will be back. Over and out.
After the conversation, Shawn, James, Abigail and Margaret look at each other.
Shawn: You know what this means when he gets back, right?
Margaret: That we're going to have to get that drug.....
In their quarters, Kayla is taking care of Cassandra, with Rachel and Moses in the room. Cassandra coughs.
Cassandra: Jesus.....this fucking sucks...
Kayla: I know, honey. I'm really sorry you're going through this....but don't worry, Kyle and Caleb are checking out the area to see if it's livable...plus, the forest air can help with that.
Sarah and Margaret appear in the doorway.
Margaret: Actually, we finally contacted Kyle and Caleb.
Rachel: And?
Moses: They okay?
Sarah sighs.
Sarah: They're alive, but the area's unlivable....
Cassandra: Wait, how'd they manage to contact us?
Sarah: There are survivors who had a radio....
Rachel: Wait, there are survivors?
Margaret: Yeah, but from the sounds of it, they're not like the last factions we've encountered. Kyle and Caleb are giving their leader a hand to help them get back to the train.
Cassandra sighs, then coughs again. James takes Cassandra's hand while Moses holds Rachel's other hand.
Rachel: Hey, it's going to be okay, Sarah. Kyle's tough. Him and Caleb are going to come back.
In the forest, Kyle, Caleb and Elizabeth make their way to the bandit camp, spying on the bandits.
Kyle: What's up with these bastards?
Elizabeth: These bastards...they came a few days ago....killed our men....raped our women....ransacked our things....it's been horrible here.
Caleb: Sick fucks....
Elizabeth: Let's take care of these bastards....
Kyle, Caleb and Elizabeth, who pulls out a custom spike sword, and puts on her skull mask, carefully sneak into the bandits camp, before quietly taking out a few bandits, quietly. Eventually, the three are discovered by one bandit.
Bandit: What the fuck?! Intruders! In-
Elizabeth pulls out her sword and hacks it into the bandits head. Suddenly, the other bandits open fire on Kyle, Caleb and Elizabeth, forcing them to take cover, but the three retaliate with Kyle, Caleb and Elizabeth eventually taking out the bandits. After the fight, Elizabeth walks up to Kyle and Caleb.
Elizabeth: Well, I think that's it.....
Suddenly, the mutated bear comes running into the camp, preparing to attack Kyle, Caleb and Elizabeth.
Kyle: Oh, come on! You've got to be fucking kidding me!
Caleb: What the fuck?! Is that the bear?!
Elizabeth: What do you think?!
Kyle, Caleb and Elizabeth avoid the mutated bears attacks, with Caleb getting clawed in the shoulder by one of the bears tentacles.
Caleb: Shit!
Caleb shoots off one of the bears ears with his 12 gauge, angering the bear.
Kyle: Caleb, I think you pissed it off!
One of the tentacles knock Kyle into a house while Elizabeth uses her customed-spike sword to slice off an attacking tentacle.
Elizabeth: Fuck!
Kyle turns his head to notice a crate of rocket launchers on the floor.
Kyle: These guys had rocket launchers?
Caleb and Elizabeth shoot at the beast.
Caleb: C'mon, you big fucking honey badger!
The beast attacks, knocking Caleb and Elizabeth down, before it's tentacles prepare to attack Caleb.
Caleb: Fuck!
Kyle: Caleb! Move!
Caleb turns to notice Kyle with a rocket launcher, preparing to shoot. Caleb moves out of the way as Kyle fires, hitting the bear in the jaw. The bear roars, before the grenade explodes, blowing the bears head off. The headless bear then falls dead. Kyle raises his head and sighs.
Caleb: Fucking A....
Kyle: No shit....
Elizabeth turns to Kyle and Caleb.
Elizabeth: I am in your debt....my people and I are in your debt. Kyle Desipich and Caleb Michaels. I truly wish there was more I could do for your wife.....I hope you are able to find the medicine to heal her.
Kyle: Thank you.
Elizabeth: Thank you for showing mercy on my people. Your names will be remembered here, Kyle Desipich....Caleb Michaels.
Caleb, blushing, approaches Elizabeth.
Caleb: Do you want to come with us? You and your people? You could live a life....with us.....with me.
Elizabeth: I'm sorry, Caleb....I can't just up and leave like this.....No matter how cute I find you.
Kyle: We understand that.
Caleb does a bow.
Caleb: In this case, I bid you farewell, my fair lady!
Caleb turns to Kyle, who shrugs. Caleb then sighs.
Caleb: Fuck it!
Caleb then turns and takes Elizabeth's hands, before slightly kissing her. Balthazar equips his axe, but Elizabeth raises her hand.
Elizabeth: Uh...settle down, Balthazar.
Caleb: That's a promise by me. I don't know how long. Weeks...months...even years...once I find a home out here, I'll be back! With a clean cut and hair cut!
Elizabeth touches Caleb's face.
Elizabeth: I'll be waiting for you, Caleb.
Kyle: Caleb, let's go!
Kyle then turns to Elizabeth.
Kyle: Elizabeth, get them out of the valley! There's death behind that dam!
Kyle and Caleb then use a zipline to get across to the dam just as the Myrmidon drives on top of it.
Kyle: She's strong, Caleb! She'll make it!
Caleb: I just hope she convinces them! They're stubborn like children!
Kyle and Caleb reach the dam as the Myrmidon drives by.
Shawn: Chris! Slow down the train!
Chris: Slowing her down!
Chris pulls on the brakes, causing the Myrmidon to slow down and allowing Rocky and Shawn to pull Kyle and Caleb aboard.
James: You guys okay?
Rocky: Shit! You guys really had us scared there!
Kyle turns to James.
Kyle: How's is she?
James sighs.
James: Not good. She's in bad shape, Kyle....We need to move, time's short....
Abigail: Her illness has progressed too far.
Kyle sighs, then punches the wall.
Kyle: Fuck! Goddammit! Nothing helped! Nothing fucking helped!
Shawn: Kyle....Come on....come take some rest, man.
Abigail then approaches Margaret, who is looking out into the wasteland at the front of the train.
Margaret: Did anything help?
Abigail: No...
Margaret: Looks like we're going to have to tell them about Boston, then...
Abigail: Yeah.....yeah, we are....
Abigail sighs.
