Chapter 36 - Secondary Host

Reading through my abilities it seemed that for now, I didn't need my golem, though I was still going to keep it around. Using [Geomancy] I shifted off the rock that had fallen on the golem and stood it up right.

Grabbing my dagger, my club, and cloak I threw the cloak over my shoulder and it shrunk in on its self stretching down to just above my kneecaps. Pulling the hood over my head, I was ready. Walking over to the wall, Anastasia followed after me bombarding me with questions.

'Boss, what happened? Why aren't you in the rock thingy? Why was your sleeping area collapsed? And why do you reek of mushrooms?' she asked as she climbed on my shoulder and her many eyes stared at as if trying to see the answers on my face.

'One at a time please' I asked the spider as we went along I experimented with [Floramancy]. The magic that flowed from my mind was of a different frequency then that of [Geomancy]. Each magic seemed to be a different song and yet their were some similar notes and some that were unique. A fern massively enlarged for a moment and I had it lash out, soon though it escaped my grasp and shrunk down to its previous size.

'Okay then what the happened?' she asked questioningly as she watched with fascination at my new Skill at work.

'Alright, well I was attacked by the mushroom, it had managed to infect me while I was sleeping, it had managed to hijack my body functions.' I explained to her.

'Then how did you manage to do whatever you did?' she asked clearly confused on the origin of my new ability.

'Uh, I really don't know, and the system Message explaining it made it look like it had Aneurysm just about of symbols, but essentially I some how left my body and manged to pull on these floating strings it was really weird and really hard to describe' I tried to find the words to explain it, but it looked like I had already lost the little spider.

'Oh, uh that sounds like definition of Restricted Knowledge' She said dismissively.

'wait a moment what's 'Restricted Knowledge?' I asked Anastasia.

'Its what it sounds like information you aren't supposed to be aware of, the system rarely does it most of the time it's really really stupidly powerful people marking something as taboo, I wouldn't worry about it, it's out of our pay grade' She said dismissively as she crawled back into her pocket in my jacket.

Dorthinoxin's Domain

...

"Hey, system admin we've got a situation 49ab in the tutorial Designated 45-" I cut her off, as I was well aware.

"I'm aware of the situation, typically no tutorial especially not the first layer of the tutorial should be dangerous enough for someone to receive a [Survivor] class" I said as multiple strains of thought went through watching all of the recorded history of this instance of tutorial, it wasn't exactly uncommon knowledge but each tutorial was somewhat unique.

Now don't get me wrong their was rather common enemies, ones more likely to appear, as the system essentially threw in a bunch of single cell organisms into pocket dimension and sped up time before chucking a sapient in there and calling it good.

Unfortunately, it was my mess to deal with it, me the Mighty Dorthinoxin! Ugh, anyways from the recordings I had watched, this pocket dimension had been tampered with. Essentially all of the 'weak' common first floor factions had been replaced with high difficulty bosses. The Ants were left alone so that the system didn't flag it. The [Secret Bosses] on the other hand were an average sapients Death Sentence.

First off, the Rats that possessed a deadly plague that infected it's hosts with mania and had a near a hundred percent infection rate. Second off the [Ophiocord Mushroom] which was new species of mushroom, that possessed the ability to raise the dead which wasn't unique but what made it terrifying was it's glutton trait, a trait which a sapient had. Thirdly, a species of physic spiders that were immune to all plagues and fungal infections. Then you had the rabbits which could mass multiply and possessed an unnatural amount of agility even in the system. Then you had moles with the inborn trait of [Master Geomancy] and [Stone Swim].

Then I found the cherry on the fucking treat do you know what the final boss was! A frickin [King Cave Bear] a powerful variant of the already overpowered [Cave Bear]. They stood at a terrifying hundred feet tall and weighed a staggering one million tons. The only reason this thing was able to survive was that it was able to eat a whole buffet of rabbits.

Looking down at my cousin, My heart went out but if he managed to survive he might be able to save his world. If and that was a big If he survived to the city state I would throw him a ball. Looking over to one of my assistants, I gave an order.

"Compile a list of the floors deemed to dangerous got it, oh and also comply a list of the top ten non Terran Sapients" They gave an odd look for a moment before going off to finish their new task.

*Snap* I picked up a bag of popcorn and something called a 'cola' that came in a weird aluminum can and had image of a jolly red man smiling creepily. I was not going to as these terran's called miss 'Prime time' entertainment.

As I watched my young cousin approach the wall, I ate a popped corn.

...

Opening a hole, in the wall a hoard of mushroom puppets flooded in. I Reached out with [Floramancy] and tried to control them, however I was rebuffed but that was to be expected.

Blasting off into the hoard, with my dagger in my left and my club in my right I sowed death back into the animated puppets.

As I pushed back the tide of puppets, a troop of Anastasia's silk puppets flowed in behind me creating a shield wall. Behind them were slingers that flowed the ranks with stones.

After the Puppets made a safe zone between them and the opening in the wall the spiders began entering the fray as skirmishers dropping down from their cave ceiling perches and swooping up unaware enemies.

After a few more pushes we reached a long narrow corridor. It was a macabre trophy room, skeletons hung suspended from the ceiling by chains signs posted with text of a strange language. Yet I could tell what it meant, a sort of information almost instinctual in nature.

They were names of the skeletons hanging above or at least the titles given by the system.

[Lionel the Champion of the Cave Folk] a Skeleton of a vaguely humanoid appearance hung above a fracture on his skull told the story of his death.

[Myrmidon Hero] a carapace hung loosely upon a chain, it hole body was hollow. From its remains I could it stood at roughly 7 feet tall.

[The Scout Captain of the Cave Rabbits] a rabbits skeleton hung above a cracked rib right where it's heart would be.

There where more but my eyes snapped to a figure that had appeared, it stood at a height of 6 feet tall. Thin and frail with a long beard down to its waist. A pair of ears that looked like a mix of human and bat protruded from its skull. It's eyes bore the hatred of its puppet master. In its grasp was a staff a staff of bones with mushrooms hanging from it.

[Grand Magus of the Cave Elves(2nd Host of the Ophiocord Mushroom] Lvl: 20

Rank Two Animated Undead

...

"So, not only do you live, you have the balls to take my children from me?" It's voice spoke brimming with anger and malice.

"You know I have every right to be angry at you, and by taking your children I don't know what you mean." I responded remembering that but a few hours ago this mushroom tried to kill me and you use my corpse.

"You wear them upon your skin" it snapped at me.

"Oh, yeah I guess I do know what you are talking about then, I think they like me more though" I responded tapping into my inner dushbag.

"Hmm, I held out hope that they might have influenced you to see the superiority of us fungi but I guess not, In afraid this as far your journey will take you" It said before it raised its staff and a fire ball appeared From the tip.

Reacting quickly I grabbed the edge of my cloak and raised it. The fire ball bloomed I felt intense heat as blasted into the [Flamekin Bear Pelt Cloak] the durable material ate the fireball.

Pushing off with my legs I zoomed towards the decrepit host. Surprise flashed in its eyes for but a moment before it slammed its staff just in time to block a blow from my club. Pushing off of its shield I jumped back, landing on my feet I activated the [Spectral Summon].

"Go, Cave Bear use Bite!" I yelled and it for half a moment the mage, the bear, and even Anastasia poked out of her place in my Jacket to stare at me before the best shrugged it's massive shoulders and attacked the mage's shield.

Anastasia, climbed out and jumped disappearing into the groves of the cave.

Blasting forward I assisted the bear in its attacks against the shield. The mage host of the mushroom tried desperately to retaliate against the two of us but he wasn't the only one able to summon shields.

I activated the temporary boost of my [Fungal Exoskeleton] skill and brought down my club smacking down on the shield causing cracks to run up and down the surface of the shield.

The cave bear followed behind me it's massive paw breaking down the shield off the mage. It stumbled back summoning a wave of flames. The magic harmed the bear bringing it's form down to half health. My quick response of my cloak blocking it.

The magus tisked it tongue as it backed away. Words alien in pronunciation formed on its lips and a spear of ice Speared through the form of the spectral bear unraveling it's form as it retreated to my cloak.

I returned fire with a spear of rock, weaving with a surprising amount of agility It sent a return volley of icicles my way. Using [Flow of Combat] and [Knight's Intuition] I weaved through dodging them.

Then I reached out with my new Skill [Fungal Spores looking for something to use [Floramancy] on. Then I noticed a pulse of life emanating from my jacket pocket.

...

[The Wanderer's companion]

A common rarity Treasure This item has traveled in the presence of a powerful magical artifact and the presence of a divine. This item has gained an ability to grow even away from traditional growing habitats. The perfect plant for a traveler.

...

Perfect, throwing it like a grenade I focused on [Floramancy] and the small mushroom expanded to massive size. Spikes formed and it managed to Pierce the host before it shrunk back to its original size and I called it back.

The Magus hawked a small about of dried blood. Malice burned like twin suns of loathing, it raised its free hand.

"UKVAKI NU EMPATI SURVAIIT ESH NANMTI" it roared and crimson energy welled up in its hands, I recognized the power it was cursed energy.

Then the energy flowed down like a viscous liquid that covered the body of the second host. Then it was absorbed and in its place where once was a shallow skin and a fragile frame was a lively skin and taught muscles. Standing in front of me was a massive buff elf, he discarded his staff. It its place it formed a sickle of cursed energy, what was a impractical weapon gave off and energy that felt wholly unnatural and caused my blood to writhe under my skin.

"[DOMAIN OF HATRED: SAPIENTS]" it spoke and the cave fell away and in its place was a small town like a capsule of time it was empty yet there was signs of life held still, and I recognized it, it was the ruins that we had passed through.
